Moonville Series 1: Secret Lovers

Alice looked around. Alex's last exam should have finished ten minutes ago, but she's still not on her rendezvous with Richard. Yes, she's now at the student lounge of the School of Medical Sciences, where Alex and Richard supposed to meet. She has been waiting there for thirty minutes, but even Richard Quinto hasn't arrived yet.

She knows Richard Quinto. She doesn't know him personally, but there's Facebook. There's Instagram. And they both live in Tarlac City. They have common friends in real life and social media. That's why even though she hates it, she still can see posts on social media showing Richard Quinto or his parents.

Whom she loathes. That's why she will never allow Alex to have a relationship with Richard. She can't allow them to meet and reconcile today.

So far, she hasn't seen anything that she doesn't like. Richard hasn't come yet, but more importantly, Alex has not-

Alice was stunned. From the direction where SAHu is, Alex is walking towards her. Her daughter is looking around, like she was looking for someone. And it seems her attention was focused to that someone she's looking, that even when she glanced at her, she didn't even notice her.

Alice's heart pounded on her chest. And it's not because of fear, but because of anger. So, in the end, Alex failed her. She was actually quite sure she will not come. That she would totally end whatever she has with Richard Quinto because she already realized the sin that she has done. That's why she will stop and not do it again.

But Alex has come, and she seems very willing to meet Richard. She seems very eager to reconcile with that Quinto Boy. And it pains her. It breaks her heart to know that Alex is willing to disobey her just for the sake of that guy. And because she is mad, she wasn't able to control herself. She stood up from the concrete chair where she's seated and walked towards Alex.

"Hi Honey!" Alice flashed her daughter her widest smile.

Alex was shocked to see her. "Mom!"

"Surprise!" She hugged her. "How's it going? How was the exam?"

"Uh..." Alex looked unsettled. "W-What are you doing here?"

"Didn't you hear? I wanted to surprise you. Aren't you... surprised?"

Alice pretended to be disappointed at Alex's reaction.

"No! I-I'm... I'm surprised. But... You see, Mom... I was about to... m-meet someone here."

Alex looked nervous. She can't even talk straight.

"Someone? Who?" Alice asked innocently.

"Uhm..." Alex looked at her nervously. "F-Friends..."

"Friends? Is in Sam, and Issay?"

Alex's face lit up. "Yes! Issay, the girls."

"Oh, I see."

Alice felt incensed. Alex took the bait she threw on her. Her daughter looks so pathetic trying to do everything just to lie to her mother. Is that what Richard Quinto did to her?

"Then, let's both wait for them," Alice suggested. "Let's include them to my treat for you and for your ate. For sure they also studied very hard for this exam week. They deserve a reward, too." "Uh..." Alex looked alarmed again. "Mom, you see..."

"Hmm?" Alice's eyebrow raised. "What?"

"You see... M-Mom..."

She could not take it anymore. "You're not waiting for the girls."

Alex was dumbfounded.

"You're not waiting for your sister either. You're waiting for someone else."

"Mom..." Alex seems totally rattled. It seems she still could not lie to her mother face to face.

"You're waiting for someone who's name is Richard Quinto."

Alex froze. Her eyes gave her away. The moment that her mind absorbed what she said, her eyes welled up. It seems she still is afraid that she found out her secret. "What? You're surprised that I know?" She could not hide the anger she's feeling anymore. "You're surprised that I found out about him? About Richard Quinto!" Alex was shocked at her sudden shriek. "Mom..." She wasn't able to stop her tears from falling.

She angrily took Richard's letter from her handbag.

"This is how I found out everything. This is how I found out about your secret." She started to cry as well. Because of anger. "Alex... how could you do this to me?" Her question was full of anger and disappointment. The crying Alex just bowed down.

"You're going home with me right now. After your sister's exam, we will talk about this."

Alex looked alarmed after hearing what her mother said. "Mom..."

"Let's go."

Alice went to her car on the parking lot. Alex followed her, still crying. She quietly got into the passenger seat of her black Toyota Innova. Alice immediately drove her car home to Moon Village.

Finally! The final exams are officially over!

Bryan and Angel's last exam has just finished, and like their classmates, they are now happily going out of the Business School to officially start the semestral break for the school year. "The first sem is done! It's time to celebrate!"

Angel watched her classmates with a smiled. Everyone is happy because finally, they can get the rest they needed. All of them really had a hard time during the exam week, which actually started even during the review week. That's why it's no surprise that everyone is celebrating right now.

"Everyone, to The Coffee Club!"

"Yay!"

The whole class went to the said coffee shop, including Angel and Bryan. Suddenly, Angel remembered something.

"I'll ask Alex to join us." She took her cellphone from her bag and turned it on. During the exams, they are asked to turn off their cellphone and put their bags in front of the classroom.

After opening her cellphone, the notifications came in continuously. There were a lot of missed calls from Alice. There are also some text messages.

Angel frowned as she opened her mother's messages.

'Go home immediately after your exams. I took Alex with me. We're heading home now.'

Angel was dumfounded. Her mother took Alex home? But why? Did something bad happened to her sister?

She suddenly remembered that Alex and Richard were supposed to meet after the exams. What if... She suddenly felt nervous at what she thought. "Something wrong?"

She looked at Bryan. He probably noticed the sudden change in her mood.

"Mom, she took Alex home."

"Did something happen to Alex?" He also felt worried suddenly.

Angel shook her head. "I don't know. But, supposedly she will be meeting Richard after the exams. Bry, I feel bad about this. I need to go home now." "I'll go with you," Bryan said. "I'll drive."

Angel nodded. With what she's feeling right now, she surely can't drive properly and safely.

"Guys, we need to go," Bryan said to their classmates.

"Huh? Come on, Bryan... You and Angel can have your date next time."

"There's just an emergency," Bryan just said.

The two left the group, who couldn't stop them anyway. They took Bryan's car, and just left Angel's car at the parking lot of CPRU.
