Moonlit Fur Chronicles: Rising Moon

Chapter 9 Never More

Peyton stood from where she knelt in front of Sawyer. He leaned back against the counter, his breath was heavy and short. She wanted to do something nice for him, he remained incredibly calm all throughout last night’s chaos. She didn’t necessarily like the taste of him, but she definitely enjoyed his reaction. Peyton reached for the gallon of chocolate milk. She poured herself a glass of chocolate milk and one for him as well. She smiled at him, he still hadn’t caught his breath. “Oh my god Peyton! That was amazing,” he shuddered. “Aftershock!” His body stiffened and she giggled. She looked after the breakfast while Sawyer collected himself. He pulled some bacon out of the fridge and set it on the counter beside the hot pan. Peyton opened the package of bacon, took half out and put it into the pan. Sawyer put the rest of the bacon back in the fridge.

Sawyer set the table and brought over their glasses of chocolate milk. Peyton brought the cooked bacon on a plate to the table. They began to eat. Peyton thought about how much she would tell Sawyer about what happened the night before. She hoped he wouldn’t be too angry with her. “Sawyer, about last night…” he gently raised a finger and swallowed his mouthful before he replied, “Peyton, if you don’t want to talk about it, then we won’t.” She shook her head, “I want to talk about it.” Sawyer closed his mouth and listened to her. She told him that she didn’t want to look for the wolves anymore. She told him how poorly the man and woman treated her. She kept secret how dirty and disgusting the man made her feel as his eyes roved her body. Sawyer didn’t need to be angry enough to look for trouble. If the man threw her across the clearing that easily, Peyton didn’t want to think of the damage he could do to Sawyer.

“I’m done looking for them. Done wanting to be a part of them. They are mean and cruel. I want nothing to do with them,” Peyton explained. “I’m glad to hear it, I’ve been so worried about them hurting you,” Sawyer mentioned. She was quiet for a moment, she wished she had listened to him before. She would’ve saved herself so much pain, guilt, and regret. “I’m done with this werewolf crap. I’m going to focus on my studies and my work at the clinic. Just because I’m a wolf doesn’t mean I have to be a monster!” “I agree!” Sawyer added. He was proud of her, he wished that she didn’t have to experience all the mess from last night.

She might be done with the wolf, but the wolf was far from done with her. It was angry at how the others had treated it and Peyton, especially when they smelled so safe, so familiar. They clearly wanted to be enemies, so enemies they would be. The wolf bidded its time and waited for revenge. It would have retribution in blood many times over. It was patient, it was quiet. Peyton felt the wolf’s anger. She was angry too. She had tried so hard to make friends with these wolves. There would be pain and blood served in equal measure.

Sawyer noticed how quiet Peyton got and asked if she was okay. She nodded and replied that she was processing everything from last night. He frowned, he worried about her. She had been through alot with this wolf business. He decided he would take her out to the movies and to lunch. “Come on, we are going out!” he exclaimed. “What about the dishes,” Peyton asked. “They will keep until we get back,” he answered. He took her by the hand and they left the house. They climbed into Sawyer’s truck and he drove them to a park to walk a nature trail. They held hands as they walked the trial, it was quite romantic. Sawyer took them to the movie theater and Peyton picked a nature documentary about wolves. He asked her if it was a good idea, given the situation, and she reassured him that she’d be okay.

Peyton found the documentary very educational. She learned about pack mentality and social structure. She had done everything right, according to the documentary, to make friends with the wolves from the mansion. She watched the wolves in the documentary wrestle and play-fight. She studied them as they thrashed about and bit at each other, she was determined to learn as much as she could. Sawyer watched her as Peyton drank in the knowledge and wolf facts. He grew concerned for her.

Once the documentary was over, Sawyer took Peyton to their favorite mom and pop restaurant, Cindy’s. She decided to spice things up a little and ordered a steak burger. Sawyer lifted his eyebrow in surprise. There were definite changes to Peyton and he resolved to keep an eye on her. He ordered the steak burger as well. She seemed more decisive and assertive, he enjoyed that about her but she also seemed quieter, the wrong kind of quiet. Sawyer hoped the wolf wouldn’t change her too much. He loved her and would love her no matter what.

Peyton and Sawyer went home after lunch cuddled on the couch. Peyton turned the tv to romantic comedies. They watched a movie about a guy who cheated on his wife with two women and all three of the women banded together and took revenge. They took every penny he had and ruined his career; the women became best friends in the process. Peyton thoroughly enjoyed the movie. She handed Sawyer the remote to pick the next one. He picked a superhero action movie. Peyton fell asleep on his chest about half way through the action movie. He found it endearing and was glad he made her feel safe.

Peyton stirred and lifted her head. She looked at Sawyer. She was so happy he was in her life. She didn’t know what she would do if he wasn’t. He was so kind and patient. He made her feel safe and desired. He was a pretty good cook too. She got up off the couch and went to the bathroom to relieve herself. She walked back to the living room and sat on his lap with her knees on either side of his waist. She kissed his lips and neck. “Baby, Do you know what I want,” she whimpered seductively in his ear. She felt him grow and press against her. He shook his head, “Tell me.”

Peyton kissed his lips and neck again. She nibbled on his ear before she answered, “What I did to you in the kitchen, I want you to do that to me.” Sawyer smiled mischievously. “You want me to suck your dick?” He teased her. She playfully slapped his chest, “You cheeseball.” He laughed with her. “Tell me what you want,” he said before he kissed her lips and down her neck. “I want your tongue between my legs,” she breathed. “As you wish,” he answered and carried her to the bedroom.
