Mommy,We Got a Husband

Chapter 272 Todd, This Is Not a Place for You to Act Out!

Stellan held Alaric in her arms, cradling him like a child.

At that moment, she truly saw Alaric as a child-a very sad and self-blaming big child.

"You two grew up together after all. It's impossible for you to never contact each other. Give Cormac some time, and go talk to him after a while," Stellan suggested. "Okay." It was Alaric's fault, and he really didn't want to lose Cormac as a friend; he definitely wouldn't give up easily.

"Don't go to work tomorrow. Just rest at home. I'll stay with you and make sure you're okay before you get busy with other things," Stellan said.

"Alright." Alaric nodded.

"It's getting late. Go to sleep," Stellan said.

"Okay," Alaric said, then got out of Stellan's embrace and hugged her instead. He then reached up and turned off the bedside lamp.

Since they had planned to stay home the next day, Stellan turned off both of their phone alarms, allowing them to wake up naturally and let Alaric get some good rest.

The next morning, Todd and Ambrose arrived at Nexus Innovations. Todd wanted to take it easy for a few days, but Stuart was pushing hard.

The jewelry company didn't dared to offend both the Vale family and the Knight family, hoping that they could negotiate privately. Unfortunately, Alaric wasn't giving Todd a chance to sit down and talk. "Where's Alaric?" Todd asked Linda bluntly.

Linda replied, "I'm really sorry, but we don't dare to ask about Mr. Knight's whereabouts. If you want to see him, you must make an appointment. Otherwise..."

"This is my third time!" Todd said impatiently.

His attitude startled Linda, and Silas quickly came over, saying, "Mr. Vale, I'm sorry, but Mr. Knight is not in the office today."

"Where did he go?" Todd asked.

"Mr. Knight didn't tell us, and we didn't dare to ask," Silas said politely. "Mr. Vale, we're just employees. There's nothing we can do even if you get angry at us. Mr. Knight really isn't in the office today," Silas replied. Todd was about to say something when Ambrose quickly interjected, "Got it; sorry to bother you."

He then hurriedly pulled Todd outside. Todd, being pulled out, was very annoyed. "What are you doing? Is it because this jewelry company is my project that you don't have to worry and can just watch the show? If I can't secure this jewelry company and get blamed by Stuart, would that make you happy?"

"You're overthinking it," Ambrose quickly explained. "I wouldn't dare think that way. I just suddenly thought of something important. For someone as dedicated as Alaric, there's only one reason he wouldn't come to the office without notice." "Stop wasting my time! Say it!" Todd shouted.

"Yes," Ambrose said. "You should know about Alaric's severe injury and three-year coma."

"Of course I know. He's really tough to have survived that," Todd said.

"People say Alaric is a medical miracle, but how could be there real miracles in this world? I heard Alaric has severe aftereffects. Last time, he lied about being on a business trip but was actually hospitalized," Ambrose revealed. "Really?" Todd was surprised. "He looks pretty healthy. Turns out he's a patient?"

"Not just a patient. These aftereffects could be life-threatening," Ambrose said.

Hearing this, Todd was overjoyed and couldn't help but laugh. "That's fate. Maybe he'll suddenly drop dead in the next few days, and I won't have to compete with him. The jewelry company will be mine." "Exactly," Ambrose uttered.

Todd was so happy that after laughing for a while, he asked, "Where does he live now? I'll go to his house. I can't wait to see him weak and helpless."

"I know where he lives," Ambrose answered.

"Good. Lead the way."

At that moment, Alaric and Stellan had just woken up, feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep.

"How are you feeling now?" Stellan quickly asked.

"I'm fine," Alaric said, quickly adding, "Don't worry. Even if I'm fine, I'll stay home for a day and not go anywhere."

"Well, good," Stellan said. "I haven't had your cooking in a long time."

"Alright, I'll handle all the food today," Alaric said.

Caspian, Harry, and Elisa had already gone to school, so it was just the two of them at home, along with a few servants, making it a bit of a private time for them.

Alaric got up, freshened up, and went into the kitchen. Stellan leaned against the kitchen door, watching him.

"People say men who cook are the most charming," Stellan said, now in a girlish fantasy mode.

"Isn't it the serious working look that's the most charming?" Alaric asked.

"Not at all," Stellan explained. "Anyone can pretend to work seriously, but not all men can cook. A handsome man who can cook well is even rarer, so of course, he's charming."

"That makes sense," Alaric said. "Then I'll give you a chance to admire my charm."

"Thank you, honey," Stellan voiced.

"You're welcome," Alaric replied.

They both smiled, feeling a sense of peace and contentment, which was wonderful!

Soon, Alaric finished making breakfast. Just as they were about to sit down and eat, a servant informed them, "Mr. Knight, Mrs. Knight, there's a man named Todd Vale outside who wants to visit you." Todd Vale?

Hearing the name, both Alaric and Stellan were surprised. He had found their home?

"Tell him, no!" Alaric said.

"Yes, Mr. Knight," the servant replied.

Being interrupted just as they were about to eat was really annoying.

Hearing that Alaric wouldn't see him, Todd became even more convinced that Alaric was bedridden and didn't dare to meet him.

"I have urgent business with him. I must see him today." With that, Todd ignored the servant's attempts to stop him and barged in. He had intended to catch Alaric in a weak state but found Alaric and Stellan sitting at the dining table eating. "Mr. Knight, I tried to stop him, but he forced his way in," the servant said.

Stellan looked at Todd. As expected, he had a fierce look and was very arrogant, barging into their home.

"Todd, what do you think this place is?" Alaric stood up angrily, his eyes like knives as he looked at Todd. "Is this your house where you can barge in as you please? This is the Knight family, not a place for you to act out!"
