Chapter 33

Kamryn walked into the bathroom. Just as she guessed, someone was so attentive that they had even brought the mouthwash cups and towels for the father and son.

The three sets of mouthwash cups and towels were of the same style. The cups were white, while the towels were black, white, and gray. Maybe it was because Charlie liked black and white, so many of the furnishings in the room were black and white.

He really liked black and white. They were simple and neat.

On the other hand, Charlie’s world gave her the feeling that it was black and white.

Back in the living room, Charlie was laying sponge mats on the ground.

Sometimes, Eugene liked to lie on the ground and play. The floor of the hotel room was made of marble, and Eugene’s immunity was weak, so it would be easy for him to catch a cold if he played on the ground.

A cold would undoubtedly be fatal for him.

The last time, Eugene had an operation because of a sudden drop in temperature. His nanny didn’t take good care of him. As a result, he caught a cold. Overnight, it caused pneumonia and almost killed him.

Charlie was worried, so he canceled some unimportant work and spared some time to take care of Eugene.

Children of Eugene’s age went to kindergarten, but because of his health condition, he couldn’t go to school.

But it didn’t matter.

Most of the time in kindergarten, children gathered together to play.

The lounge in Charlie’s office had been renovated into a sterile room and was even equipped with some first–aid instruments.

Eugene had been sick for a long time, so Charlie learned a lot of medical knowledge.

Charlie had been taking care of Eugene for so long, and he was more attentive and patient than anyone else.

Kamryn walked over and put the pieces of the mats together with him.

The sponge mats were upmarket, environmentally friendly, and non–toxic. They had been disinfected before being used by Eugene.

Holding Baymax in his arms, Eugene looked at Kamryn and Charlie laying down the sponge mats. He poked the button on Baymax’s chest from time to time.

As soon as he pressed the button, Baymax would say, “Hello, I’m Baymax, your personal healthcare companion.”

Eugene was so happy that he put his face on Baymax’s big round head and rubbed against it gently. “I love you, Baymax.”

The pure Sayworth accent surprised Kamryn. “Did Eugene once live in Sayworth?”

“Yes. After he was born, he was very weak, so I took him to Sayworth.

I see. Many of the world’s top hospitals are there in Sayworth.”

Kamryn was a little curious again. “So Eugene learned to speak very early?”

Yes. He has a large vocabulary now. He can read many books on his own.”

“Amazing.

“If it weren’t for this disease, he could do better.”

As Charlie spoke, he looked proud of his smart and excellent son.

Kamryn was envious of the intimate tacit understanding between the father and son pair.

Although Charlie was a proud person admired by countless people, she felt that he was lonely.

It was as if he would not open his heart to anyone.

He was taciturn. She felt that the father and son depended on each other and regarded each other as the most important thing.

Kamryn suddenly thought of something. “I want to ask about some gossip.”

Charlie snorted, “Unnecessary question.”

“I’m sorry.”

Kamryn frowned in annoyance. She should have realized that those female stars must have wanted to use Charlie’s fame to gain public attention.

“Is showbiz dirty?”

“No.”

“No?” she asked.

Charlie smiled and said, “It’s just that there are some dirty people in showbiz.”

Hearing this, Kamryn nodded. She put the last sponge mat on the ground and asked Eugene to come over to play.

Eugene jumped out of bed and stepped on the sponge mats. Suddenly, he sat down, pointed to a storage box at the side, and asked Charlie to get it.

Charlie, the president who was usually high and mighty in front of tens of thousands of employees, was actually willing to run errands for his son and bring him the storage box.

Inside the box were all kinds of Legos.

Then Eugene began to play with Legos in silence.

Watching him play, Kamryn became interested and joined him.

Halfway through the fun, the phone suddenly rang.

When Kamryn saw that it was a call from Jenna, she went to the balcony and picked it up. “It’s so late. What can I do for you?”

“Kamryn, who are you with now?”

Kamryn smiled and said playfully, “Wyatt.”

Hearing this, Jenna stood up nervously on the bed.

She was in the hotel next to the set. Wyatt sent her here and then went back. She thought, “Did he go to find Kamryn?”

“You…”

Jenna clenched her teeth, and asked, “Kamryn, what do you mean?”

“Haha, do you really believe me? It seems that your relationship with him is not that good. You don’t even trust him.”

Jenna taunted Kamryn bluntly, but Kamryn didn’t care. “You know whether I can get him or not. When we were eating in the restaurant today, you saw clearly who Wyatt’s eyes were fixed on, didn’t you? Tell him not to think about me anymore. I’m tired of him.”

Jenna’s face turned red, and then she became livid. “During these few years after you were expelled from home, you’ve become sharp–tongued. You’re just a plaything abandoned by another man. Do you think that Wyatt still has feelings for you? He only feels pity for you!”

“I hope so. It’s better to pity me than to love me. You and Wyatt have been married for so many years, yet your position in his heart is not as important as a ‘plaything abandoned by another man. Who is more pathetic?”

Jenna was speechless again “Kamryn. I think you’re really hopeless”

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up Kamryn didn’t want to bother dealing with her.

“Tell me. Do you know Charlie?”

Kamryn’s heart skipped a heat.

she thought, “Charlie? Why did Jenna suddenly ask this? Could it be that she saw me with Charlie?”

“No” Kamryn subconsciously denied it because she didn’t want Jenna to know that she was in contact with Charlie.

She didn’t want to cause him any trouble.

“Really?”

“Think what you want.”

Jenna finally heaved a sigh of relief.

She thought she was probably mistaken.

She didn’t believe that someone like Kamryn could hook up with Charlie.

It seemed that she had thought too much.
