Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 111
Jaylen's POV
"But then, I wouldn't do that without having convincing and concrete evidence. I'm not going to kill an innocent woman because you want it". There was grumbling around.
"Hear me, I'm not saying you all are lying but then as an Alpha, even though I have the interest of the people at heart, I still want the details of what truly happened to know how to judge it ".
Saying this I looked at Sam. There was relief in her heart. Then I walked back to my seat. Brock and I exchanged looks. "Found this article interesting? If you're not on Jobb.o, you're missing the real experience. Someone's copied this content! Visit Jobb. for authentic, up-to-date information directly from us." His eyes were as plain as an empty book. I wish he could tell me what to do at this time. I know that even though I told the people that I was going to grant their wish, I don't think I have the heart to kill Sam. Now I remember my dream again. I must not lose this woman. If they think I would kill the woman I love so much.......
"Victims who had witnessed the attack, come out and tell everyone while you accuse this woman...."
That was Brock who talked. Not until I heard Brock talk that I realised that I had zone out. I quickly came back to my senses and gave Brock an appreciating look.
"Mind you, if everything you'll say is nothing but lies, you are putting your life in grave danger".
Brock's voice was so serious that even if they want to lie before, this will scare them away. I balanced it to start hearing what they had to say against Sam. I had thought that Brock didn't want to help me but him speaking now gave me a lot of relief. At least he is a higher superior and would help me tame these people without me looking back.
One of the witnesses came out. He was really in pain. Looking at his heart I know what he had to say. He wasn't going to lie.
"Alpha, I was with my mate when she appeared all of a sudden. We were so scared and then we asked her what she wanted. She said that she hated this village. She hates everyone in the pack for being against her and she's here for revenge. Her eyes were removing fire. We begged her to spare us but she wouldn't listen. Then she chanted incantations. That was how my mate began to go down until she became like the dead. Alpha please save my mate".
I looked at him and sighed sadly. I know how sad a man who loses his mate could be.
"When did this happen?"
I asked this question knowing that Sam can't do all this just this morning even if she's a witch. Looking at how many people were lying down, and with this narration, she was going from house to house. Then she would need a lot of time to reach all these people. "Yesterday morning. I had wanted to come to the Alpha, but then I didn't expect it to be something happening to everyone" he sniffed.
The male was crying like a pup. But then the timing was so wrong. I then chuckled. I exchanged looks with both Alvin and Ethan and I know they understood what my looks were for. Brock heard me chuckle and glared at me. "What's funny in all that is happening?"
Brock's voice was fierce that showed he was angry.
"What he just said now really opposed something. They ain't corresponding at all" I replied.
"Which is?"
The victim standing was waiting for my reply but I was talking with Brock.
"Sam and I left the pack to the human world yesterday morning and we didn't return until late in the night".
"Human world? There's no one that can be in the two worlds at the same time?"
Brock's voice showed surprise.
"Exactly" I agreed.
"Then what the crazy heck is going on!"
"That I don't have the answer to. I'm so confused here buddy" I said to Brock.
"Any evidence that she's the woman you saw yesterday morning?" Brock asked him.
"Yes, your highness," the man said.
He then dipped his hand inside his pocket and brought out a wrapped leaf. He unwrapped it and brought out a few strands of red hair.
"While she was chanting, I grabbed her so as to save my mate but then she disappeared but left behind this hair. I took it as evidence" he replied, raising the red hair.
None collected the hair from him. We just eyed the hair from where he was standing. Since we are werewolves, we could see the hair even from a distance. It was truly Sam's hair colour.
"This is not a very concrete evidence man. For all I care, you might have picked that hair from anywhere and moreover, she's not the only one that is redhead" Brock said.
His voice was very plain, carrying no emotions. I was glad that he was doing this on my behalf. If it had been me, they would have thought I'm saying this because of sentiments.
The man who was talking looked so sad. He opened his mouth like he wanted to say something but then at the end, he didn't say anything anymore. He just went back to where he came from. This one evidence failed, and it gladdens my heart. Then another came. This new witness told his own similar story but he had more concrete evidence. He said that he took pictures of Sam hurting his mother while his brother struggled with her. He brought his phone and showed us the pictures. Truly it was Sam. This time she was even strangling the woman with her hands.
I then began to notice something. I looked at all the paralysed ones and I saw that they were mostly females. What on earth does this person doing this have on females? I could feel Sam's eyes on me. I couldn't even bring myself to look at her. I didn't want to see her sad face.
