Mate ...s ?!?!

Chapter Chapter Thirty-One

[Cassie’s POV]

I had woken up in the infirmary a few days ago. Remembering why I was there I smiled to myself a little. I had gone after the escaping Rouges. The ones that had been in our cells and had broken free. Cilla and Justin had been among them and I was never going to let them get out of these Pack lands alive.

Orion was such a special Wolf it was shameful to know what they had done to their own child. He had been a very gentle soul before they had begun to take their ‘punishments’ too far. I had seen him bloody and broken and I had more than enough of it to last a lifetime.

I had asked my father about Orion’s situation and because no one knew of his birth there was nothing anyone could really do. No one knew he was Cilla and Justin’s kid so because they had claimed him as Justin’s brothers he had been taken in as an orphan and allowed to be a part of the Pack. However, he had not gotten the same attention as the others that had been born here and it pissed me off.

I had spent two days in the infirmary thinking about what to do about Orion’s situation.

Him being Mated to the future Alphas of the Pack was good, however, it was not the best for him. They didn’t know how to handle all of him. Orion was a very special type of Wolf and not because of his age regression. No he was different because of his power. He was not a normal Omega.

They knew he was a White Wolf but they didn’t understand fully what that meant for Orion as an Omega. I worried about him the entire time I was locked away in the infirmary and was a little sad that he hadn’t come to see me. However, the Luna had come.

She had explained that Orion and the twins were getting to know each other better. That they were getting Orion to slip in and out of his ‘little’ space at random so the Twins could get used to him like that. That had caused me to worry even more because I knew how unruly Orion and his Wolf could get when they slipped into ‘little’ space. If they didn’t have someone to calm them down, they would bring down the house. I warned the Luna of this and she assured me that she would keep an eye out for anything too hostile going on with them. However, so far the three of them had just been playing mostly.

Orion and his Wolf were very strong. A simple pillow could feel like a solid brick being thrown at your head if he was too upset. Orion and his Wolf had been born with a special type of ability. I had figured it out one day when something drastic had happened to Orion in his Wolf form. We had been in the forest together just us so that he could relax and be himself. It was something he hadn’t gotten to do a lot of. He had been forbidden to shift into his Wolf because of his color. It would have drawn too much attention and everyone would have said something about Cilla’s treatment of him if he had shown anyone else his white fur. So, I would take him out so that he could shift and be free for a few hours at a time. It always made him happy.

It had been a simple thing, they had slipped into ‘little’ space because of a butterfly flitting past them and had chased the little thing through the trees. The problem had been the sudden appearance of a mountain lion that was out of his territory and messing with the wrong Wolf.

Orion had flown into a tantrum because the Lion had squashed his butterfly and half the forest was never the same afterwards. The poor Lion met with a grizzly fate, scarred beyond recognition. Orion had broken every bone in the poor things body. It had looked as squashed as the little butterfly he had been playfully chasing.

I had been more than mindful after that to keep the pup away from places like that. The forest was too dangerous if he could not control himself. I was worried that if I was not around Orion could get into too much danger. His Mates should be able to protect him but they don’t know him like I do. They had not seen his uncontrolled power like I had. Felt it’s chill.

Today seemed normal for us, in the morning everything seemed to go normal but as the day dragged on I could see Orion’s body language begin to change. I watched him in every class we had together during that day at school. He seemed a little better but something was definitely off about him. He had not spoken much to me at all after mid-day class, and I thought it had just been me but even at lunch with Jace and Jax he was silent and it was off. Even the Twins took notice of it.

They were trying to get him to perk up when the very last person I thought to see back in this school walk into the lunch room.

Cara Lopez.

She was supposed to have been expelled for beating up one of the teachers. The bitch that has more than ruined Orion’s life in this school for years.
