Master of his heart (Max and Brielle)

Chapter 1421

Over the next few days, Brielle was completely absorbed in designing the wedding invitations. She added her own creative spin while seamlessly blending in Max's ideas. Since Max had returned, he had Patrick brought over from North America. Patrick was practically bouncing with excitement, as if he was walking on air.

"Boss?"

"Boss!"

Patrick was like someone finally coming home after a long journey, tears glistening in his eyes as he stood off to the side. Max, as usual, stayed calm and simply glanced at him.

Patrick quickly wiped his tears, repeating, "It's really good, really good." It took a few tries for him to calm down and regain his usual cool demeanor.

Now, both Patrick and Joseph were staying at the Premier Palace. However, Joseph hadn't heard his master call for him in days and was starting to feel a bit aimless. Meanwhile, Patrick was thriving, constantly at Max's side, making Joseph feel increasingly unnecessary. And what about King? Where was his master? Days had passed without any sign of him. Every time Patrick passed by Joseph, he carried himself with a sense of pride, like a favorite courtier. Joseph couldn't shake off a feeling of unease, wishing King would reappear. Max's icy demeanor was hard for him to handle, like a chill that seeped into his bones. King might have been distant too, but he had a playful side.

Joseph found himself hoping each day for King's return, but as the next week rolled around, nothing changed. Max was still Max, with no trace of King appearing. Brielle seemed unfazed, busy with the invitations, until Joseph couldn't hold back any longer and knocked on the study door.

"Ms. Brielle."

Brielle was tweaking her designs on the computer and responded, "Come in."

Joseph entered, looking humble and respectful. "Ms. Brielle, do you know when the master will be back?"

Brielle paused, realizing she didn't know. "Joseph, I'm sorry, I really don't know."

Joseph's eyes dropped, his worries spilling out. "Is he... is he never coming back?"

Brielle tensed, then managed a gentle laugh. "No, that's not possible. They're two sides of the same coin; if one is here, so is the other."

Joseph felt a pang in his heart. He had seen the journey Brielle and King had been on and knew it hadn't

been easy Brielle, as King not

accepted Max's dual nature

naturally. But for Joseph, King was just King, not Max. If his master was truly gone, then his time at Premier Palace would be over too. He wouldn't stay where he wasn't needed.

Max had Patrick, and their bond was like the one King and Joseph had shared, leaving Joseph feeling out of place. After Joseph left, Brielle found herself lost in thought, Joseph's words bringing back memories of King's fatigue during their reality show stint. The gift he had left in her office instead of handing it to her himself tugged at her heart.

What had happened during that

time? As she quietly pondered, she realized the invitations were almost done. That evening, when Max got home, she showed him the designs. Max took the laptop and made some quiet adjustments for a few minutes.

Brielle watched him, feeling like she was in a dream, about to marry this man. Max set the laptop aside and gently ruffled her hair. "I've added a little detail here. When's the wedding?" "Next week," she said.

Max rubbed his temple and kissed her lightly. "Alright, I'll get those invitations made right away."

Brielle held onto his shirt, "About the medicine on the nightstand, what's that for?"

She had seen King taking it, but it seemed to vanish with Max's return. Max settled back on the couch, explaining, "I've been dealing with some mental health issues. That helps me manage." Brielle sighed with relief, glad it wasn't something King was hiding from her. "Great, then we're all set with the invitations. We can start sending them out tomorrow."

Her face lit up with a smile, "And let's have Isaac as our ring bearer."
