Master of his heart (Max and Brielle)

Chapter 1071

Kailee couldn't see anything, but her gut was screaming that the woman Isaac mentioned was the same one she had seen that day. Anger bubbled up inside her, and she shot up, pointing an accusing finger at King. "Were you just messing with me when you talked about marrying me yesterday?!"

King didn't even flinch, his fingers tapping away on his computer, completely ignoring her.

Just then, Kailee's phone rang. It was her brother, Joseph. Tears welled up in her eyes as she answered the call, quickly wiping them away.

"Bro."

"You still at King's place?"

"Yeah."

As soon as the word left her mouth, she saw King get up, apparently heading upstairs. She hurried after him.

"King, give it to me straight. Were you just playing me yesterday? I'm warning you, even if you're from Saudi, I'm not scared of you. If you dare mess with me, my brother will handle you! He doesn't blink an eye at killing!" Joseph, the so-called "killer," sighed, rubbing his temples. "Stop making a fool of yourself and come home."

Kailee hesitated but then heard Joseph's voice drop to a serious tone. "I don't want to repeat myself."

Kailee froze, no longer chasing after King.

After she left, King's phone rang again. It was Joseph.

"My sister's been bothering you, I see."

"Yeah."

"King, looks like Ronald is trying to set you up with some beauties, probably because he saw my sister clinging to you. I'll keep her away from now on."

Joseph knew Kailee could be headstrong but wasn't bad at heart. Her presence could briefly divert the public's attention from Isaac, as everyone was digging into Isaac's birth mother, hoping to leverage that information in deals with King.

Joseph had intentionally sent his sister over to shift the focus to her, signaling that King was moving on and wasn't hung up on the past.

Meanwhile, King had reached the room where Brielle was sleeping, barely opening the door before deciding to end the call with Joseph. "King, about the organization backing Seamus-"

"We'll talk another time."

Ending the call, King turned his attention to Brielle, asleep with one arm peeking out from under the covers. Approaching her, he remembered the criticism from the night before, his expression darkening. Gently, he adjusted the blanket to ensure she wouldn't catch a cold.

He glanced at her phone and decided to take it. She was better off staying by his side, without needing to worry about the Lynch family or any friends. Just him. Despite the time that had passed, King was still making the same mistakes, though he didn't realize it.

Dustin had received a message; someone had informed the Lynch family that Brielle was with them. Dustin's brow furrowed at the message. Brielle was with King, but this news hadn't come from King's camp. Surely, if King had other

intentions, he would've reached out sooner, not now. Was it someone

from Seamus's side?

Rising, Dustin glanced at Seamus, who was directing servants around him. Despite years of dedicated service to the Lynch family, earning their respect, Dustin noticed something off. "What's wrong, young master?"

"Brielle's been kidnapped."

Dustin's expression was tense, but he kept an eye on Seamus, who initially looked down, then smirked slightly.

"What do you plan to do, young master?"

"Let's see what they want first. Brielle is part of the Lynch family and should inherit our shares. If that's what they're after, I'm willing to negotiate."

But Seamus's contempt was palpable. The Lynch family's shares were trivial compared to their control over global diamond resources, which, combined with Ronald's oil and their medical dominion, could make them unstoppable. "Let's not be hasty, young master. Perhaps consult your father first."

"Dustin, don't you realize? My dad hasn't exactly welcomed Brielle with open arms."

His voice was laden with defeat. "Mom's gone missing, and in this house, only grandma and I really care about Brielle."

"Your father has his reasons."

"Hah, what reasons? He's heartless, only ever caring about power."

Seamus's eyes sparkled at Dustin's words, offering a few words of comfort before hurrying to his room once Dustin had left.
