Marry into Money by Accident

Chapter 33

Chapter 33

"I just want to taste the barbecue here for the future tourists who will travel from afar." Lianne's eyes fixated on a street corner restaurant selling barbecue wings. She was drooling.

Even though her mouth was watering, Lianne made up an excuse that sounded rather convincing.

For some reason, Zane was angry about her craving and refused to let her have it. "I stay away from junk food."

Since Lianne knew unhealthy food was not for Zane, she never intended to invite him.

She ingratiatingly smiled. "Why don't you head back for a rest, Mr. Atlas? I'll sacrifice myself for the task."

Zane was lost for words.

She was a measly assistant, yet she tried to dismiss and drive him away. Well, he was not going anywhere. Zane walked toward the restaurant and found a table to sit behind.

Despite his ordinary attire, his presence at the table gave people the impression that he did not belong there.

Lianne ordered multiple food items at the register and bumped head-first into a young man in an orange jacket when turning around. She quickly took a step back. "Sorry!"

"It's okay. What team are you on, pretty lady? Why haven't I seen you before?" The man smiled at her with a blushing face.

Lianne was in a daze. "What do you mean by a team?"

"Oh, so you're not in the club with us. I guess that's why I've never seen you before. I wouldn't forget a gorgeous woman like you. Out of billions of people in the world, fate brought us together. Why don't we exchange contacts?" Red in the face, the man pulled out his phone and asked.

It was a cheesy line to hit on a girl, but the man meant what he said.

Lianne smiled. "Sorry. I don't give my number to strangers."

The crimson flush extended across the man's face. "Help me out here, pretty lady. I lost in a game. of truth and dare with my friends. They dared me to get a girl's number."

Lianne looked around. “There are a lot of girls around. You can look for another girl and try the restaurant owner's wife if you can't get a number off the next girl."

She believed she did not look like a bimbo. So why did the man use the oldest trick in the book to get her number?

The man let out a bashful smile. "I just thought you looked beautiful and wanted to get your number. I'm sorry to have made you feel uncomfortable."

The truth changed Lianne's opinion of the man for the better. "I could consider giving you my

contact if you do me a favor."

The man was overjoyed at the glimmer of hope. "What can I help you with?"

Lianne replied, "I'll ask you a few questions. Just give me honest answers."

The man nodded his head. "Fire away."

Lianne inquired, "Did you and your friends come here for leisure? How did you get here? How would you rate the environment, accommodation, and food here? Would you come back?" The man grinned. "Are you doing a survey?"

Lianne gave a nod. "Yeah. I'm a staff member working on developing the tourist area. It's part of my job."

The man said, "We're members of a social club. We came by bus in a team of a hundred. The scenery here is beautiful. Those who don't have altitude sickness talked about revisiting the place, but we didn't have a good dining experience at a homestay. We agreed on a price beforehand but had to pay more after the meal. Although a few hundred bucks extra from a big group isn't much, I doubt the review would do the place any favors."

One bad apple could spoil the whole bunch.

It was not a situation Lianne would allow to happen again. "Is it happening with other places too?"

"It's just that one place. All the other homestays were fine. So, can you leave me your number?" The man pulled out his phone once more.
