Chapter Making 550

Chapter 550

Jordan’s gaze landed on Darius as he asked, “Darius, is everything you just said true?”

Clearly. Jordan and the other three sect masters had already heard what Darius had relayed to the others before they

arrived.

Darius promptly and earnestly bowed to Jordan, affirming, “Sed master, every word I spoke is the truth, not a shred of it is

fabricated.”

However, Jordan’s expression turned cold as he said, “My son, Cedric, has always been brave and loyal. He would never surrender to Gilmore.

“It must be that they were captured and forced to submit under duress.”

Elijah, Alexander, and Bentley, the three other sect masters, also showed signs of doubt.

According to Darius, their sons had all surrendered to Gilmore.

But they couldn’t bring themselves to believe that their sons would pledge loyalty to Gilmore..

Would the four major sects really fear Gilmore!

Would they really need to surrender to him?

In their eyes, their sons must have been threatened and had no choice but to bow down.

Darius hadn’t expected his truthful account to be met with suspicion from Jordan.

He had witnessed with his own eyes that Cedric and the other young masters were not bound or under any immediate threat to their lives.

And even if they were threatened, shouldn’t they have chosen death over submission?

Being a man of unwavering loyalty himself, Darius couldn’t stand the thought.

So he said to Jordan, “Grandmaster, even if the young masters and the other three heirs were coerced by Gilmore, as heirs of the four major sects, they shouldn’t have submitted to him.

Hearing Darius continually focusing on the supposed failings of Cedric and the other young masters, the sect masters g increasingly displeased with him.

Jordan was well aware that Darius was known for his unwavering loyalty within the Phoenix Sect

He had always thought this loyalty was towards him as the sect master, and towards the Phoenix Sect itself.

However, Darius’s insistence on highlighting Cedric’s disgrace was not something Jordan appreciated.

Consequently, Jordan’s face darkened as he addressed Darius, “Darius, I’ve already said that my son, Cedric, and the three young masters didn’t surrender to Gilmore. They were coerced and had no choice but to submit to him.

This is all Gilmore’s outrageous doing. The Phoenix Sect is not a playground for Gilmore. We’re going back to the Phoenix Sect to deal with this youngster.

Darius immediately responded, “Sect master, you are wise. This Gilmore must be eliminated, or our Phoenix Sect will lose all its dignity

“However, the young master, as a future candidate for sect master, surrendered and pledged loyalty to an outsider. Sect

master, you must also impose punishment on him

Jordan hadn’t expected his words to fail to restrain Darius.

Instead, Darius, in front of everyone, demanded that Jordan discipline his son, Cedric

This was a blatant lack of respect for Jordan.

Anger was evident on Jordan’s face as he ordered several presbyters standing nearby. “Take Darius into custody for his insolence and disrespect towards me. After I deal with Gilmore, we will discuss his punishment.”

Several presbyters quickly surrounded Darius, who wore a look of indignant anger.

He couldn’t fathom how his truth–telling and unwavering loyalty to the Phoenix Sect and to Jordan not only failed to earn praise but led to him being accused instead.

“Sect master, I am innocent. Why do you seek to punish me?” Darius protested in confusion.

However, before Jordan could respond, the presbyters swiftly immobilized Darius by sealing several of his acupoints.

Then, they ordered the martialists of the Phoenix Sect to bind Darius

At this moment, more than a thousand martialists of the four major sects, escorting hundreds of captives from the Dragonspire Secret Realms, including Leland, arrived halfway up the mountain.

Following this, Jordan and the other three sect masters led everyone towards the peak of Phoenix Mountain.

About half an hour later, the people of the four major sects reached the summit.

As they approached the grand open gates of the Phoenix Sect, they noticed an eerie absence of guards.

This odd silence set Jordan’s mind on edge, his brow slightly furrowing

“Let’s go in,” he said to everyone.

Darius had mentioned that Cedric and the other three heirs had fallen into Gilmore’s hands, and Jordan, worried about his son, was eager to see the situation for himself

Elijah, Alexander, and Bentley shared his sentiments.

Together, they led the martialists of the four major sects swiftly into the Phoenix Sect.

Once inside, the four major sect masters found the courtyards and attics eerily deserted, a scene so strange it was almost surreal.

A nagging worry crept into their minds.

“Could Gilmore have taken our sons?” they thought.

Finding no one in the front courtyard buildings, they hurried to the backyard.

What they saw there stopped them in their tracks.

Hundreds of Phoenix Sect martialists stood in neat rows in the vast square, which could hold thousands.

At the rear of these rows, a seven–feet–high stage hosted five large chairs.

On these chairs at Gilmore and four women–Emma, Christine, Yolanda, and Daphne.

Cedric, Wyatt, Isaac, and Theodore stood to the side, silent and stiff like guards, not daring to breathe too loudly.

As the four major sect masters and their martialists filled the square, Jordan, with a piercing gaze, addressed the lined–up Phoenix Sect martialists, “Why do you not kneel and pay your respects upon seeing your sect master?”

The Phoenix Sect martialists, who had ostensibly surrendered, were visibly shaken by Jordan’s thunderous questioning.

Without hesitation, they knelt before him, proclaiming, “We greet the sect master!“

Their allegiance to Gilmore was never genuine. They were merely biding their time for Jordan’s return to confront Gilmore.

Jordan’s gaze swiftly shifted from the kneeling Phoenix Sect martialists to Gilmore and the four women on the stage, eventually resting on his son, Cedric

Looking at Cedric, he declared, “Cedric, I’ve come to rescue you. Don’t be afraid. With me here, nobody can hurt even a hair on your head.”

However, no sooner had he spoken these words than a sharp whoosh cut through the air.

Gilmore flicked his finger, sending a burst of anima that hit an acupoint on Cedric’s body.

Cedric’s face twisted in agony as he collapsed to the ground, writhing and screaming in pain.

Jordan’s eyes blazed with a murderous intent, his facial muscles contorting with rage.

He was incredulous that Gilmore had dared to attack his son right after his vow that no one would harm him.

This was a blatant show of disrespect, a challenge to his authority in full view of everyone.

He noticed Elijah, Alexander, and Bentley watching him, clearly curious to see how he would react to this public humiliation by Gilmore.

Jordan knew that if he didn’t severely punish Gilmore now, he would become the laughingstock of all the sects in the Dragonspire mountains.

His attention then turned to Leland, who was being escorted by two Phoenix Sect martialists.

Without a moment’s delay, Jordan leaped forward, seized Leland, and flew towards the high platform where Gilmore was seated.
