Magic Doctor CEO Lady's Humble Husband (Fade Chen)

Chapter 3224

The beast hunting team held a high status in the village.

When Hadrian went back with the team, almost everyone in the village came out to welcome them.

After greeting each other, many villagers gave Fade gifts after knowing that he had saved Hadrian and Yolanda.

Although they gave him simple gifts such as drinks, grains, meat and clothes, it made him feel the kindness and warmth on this side of the world.

In the evening, the whole village became lively. Everyone brought out their wine and food without hesitation and prepared a meal for Fade.

They ate while chatting, then Hadrian ordered a few strong young men and an elder and said, "Mr. Hanker, why don't you come to the city with us tomorrow."

Hanker, who had gray hair, spoke while shaking his head, "I'm getting old. What's the point of me going? Wouldn't I be dragging you all down?"

Hadrian said, "Mr. Hanker, it's not that. Mr. Chen wants to look for someone in the city. I remembered that you know many people in the city. You can follow us to the city and maybe help to ask around."

"Looking for someone!" Hanker looked at Fade and asked, "Fade, who are you looking for?"

Fade paused as it was hard for him to say that he wanted to look for the Loh family, so he said, "I'm looking for someone from the Gu family."

"The Gu family? Are you perhaps talking about the famous Gu family of South Yan City?" Hanker asked in surprise.

Fade remembered that Talmon had once told him that the Loh and Gu family were both famous in South Yan City, so he was most probably right. Thus, he nodded and said, "Yes, that's the

one."

At that moment, the scene became more lively.

"Mr. Chen, I didn't expect you to know someone from the Gu family? They're a big family in our South Van City!"

"Brother Chen, who are you looking for in the Gu family? Are you a relative of theirs?"

"It's no wonder you're so powerful, because you're an expert who is related to the Gu family!"

Everyone was laughing.

However, Lemont was observing while Yolanda and Fade were talking and laughing the whole time. At that moment, his eyes darkened and he was angry. He muttered, "You're a relative of the Gu family? Then why did you come to our small village?" The dinner lasted until late at night because everyone didn't want it to be over so soon.

That night, Fade went to Hadrian's house to rest for the night.

Early in the morning the next day, Hadrian brought along the team whom he had given orders to the night before. With Hanker, Yolanda, and Fade coming along, they then headed towards South Yan City. On the way, Hadrian explained the relevant situation to Fade.

Only then did Fade realize that the village was about four hours away from South Yan City.

Although it didn't seem like a long journey, there were still some forests and wilderness along the way. Occasionally, there would be some vicious beasts and bandits roaming around.

Therefore, every time they entered the city, they had to call up strong and powerful companions from the village to guard them all the way and to ensure the safety of their lives and belongings. However, they were quite fortunate that time as they did not encounter any incidents along the way, and they reached the outskirts of the city safely. Perhaps it was because Fade was there.

There was a wall of about 20 to 30 meters high which stood in front of the crowd. Its shadow gave a sense of oppression and it looked shocking.

On the wall, there were armored guards standing every 10 meters, each holding a weapon in their hands.

At that moment, the place where Hadrian and the others were queuing was a city gate that was nearly 20 meters tall and 10 meters wide.

At the city gate, there was a group of armored guards who stood there, checking everyone who was entering the city. It looked like their security was very strict.

After queueing for about 15 minutes, it was Fade and the others' turn to enter the city.

Hadrian walked in front with a smile on his face. He walked forward to approach and greeted, "Alford, it's me."

As he spoke, Hadrian quietly passed a cloth bag to the man.

The man weighed it in his hand and his face revealed an expression of understanding as he said, "We're all old acquaintances. Just go in!"

Then, the guards casually inspected them and let Hadrian and the others in.

Seeing this, Fade couldn't help but whisper, "Do we need to pay an entrance fee to enter the city?"

Yolanda shook her head and

explained in a low voice, "Brother Chen, it's not that. According to the rules, they only need to inspect us for safety and there's no need to pay any fee. However, since we live nearby and have to often enter the city to do business, they will pay

more attention to us and sometimes even deliberately make things difficult for us. They also damaged our goods on purpose and we lost quite a lot in between."

"In this way, it's better to pay them an entrance fee every time we enter, so they won't make things difficult for us."

"It seems that this problem exists everywhere in the world!" Fade could not help but sigh.

Lemont stood behind the two of them and observed as Yolanda and Fade conversed and laughed intimately. His gaze darkened and his expression looked furious.

When Lemont walked past the soldiers, not knowing if he did it intentionally or not, he muttered to himself, "Not everyone here are acquaintances; there's an outsider this time."

Alford heard his words and his expression immediately changed. His gaze swept over the group and finally landed upon Fade.

"Stop right there!"

Hadrian, who was the first to enter the city, turned around and ran back when he heard the noise.

"Alford, what's wrong?"

Alford's face darkened. He pointed at Fade and said to Hadrian, "Captain Qin, who's this man? I think of you as my friend, yet you brought a stranger with you? What do you think you're doing?" Hadrian hurriedly explained, "Alford, this is Mr. Chen, Fade Chen. He saved my life and I just wanted to bring him to the city to buy some things. That's all."

"Captain Qin, I can't determine the authenticity just by hearing some of your words." Alford was unwilling to let the matter go.

"Alford, we've known each other for so many years, don't you trust me?" Hadrian said hurriedly.

Alford was not convinced. "Captain Qin, business is business, and friends are friends. We can't mix the two."

"Alford!" Hadrian went closer once again and took out 2 yuan stones, then quietly gave them to Alford.

However, Alford weighed it in his

hand and did not seem very

satisfied. He was still unwilling to let go. "Captain Qin, recently our superiors have been quite strict on this. As a subordinate, I still have to foffow the rules!"

"D*mn it, how greedy!" Hadrian cursed in his heart, but could only put a smile on his face.

Hanker, who was standing beside, came over and said, "Alford, your father and I have known each other for so many years. Can't you just let it go this time?"

"Whoa, Mr. Hanker, it's you!" Alford

shouted. He paused for a moment and then said, "Mr. Hanker, since

you're the one asking, I will let it go this time. However, there can't be a next time. Otherwise, I will be in trouble too."

"Thank you, Alford. I'll treat you to a meal soon." Hadrian smiled apologetically.

Then, the group of people hurried into the city.

After entering the city and leaving the city gate, Hadrian couldn't help scolding, "D*mn it, Alford is so greedy. I even gave him 12 yuan stones this time, yet he is still not satisfied. That jerk." Even though Hadrian was cursing in anger, he still wouldn't dare to take revenge on Alford.
