Love Comes To Me

Chapter 1511: Prince, something is wrong!

Paulina took Juanetta's encounter at the mall as a coincidence and thought nothing of it. In the evening, she and Bonita headed home and received a call from Marcos on the way. "Paulina, tonight I have to work late, you don't have to wait for me, get some rest."

Paulina said "yes" quietly and they chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up the phone.

"Sister-in-law, you and big brother have been together for many years, but your relationship hasn't faded, it's getting better and better, it's really enviable." Bonita, who was sitting next to her, sighed with an envious look. Paulina couldn't help but let her smile slip and joked, "Aren't you and Alvaro there too, has your relationship faded?".

Bonita looked a bit apologetic: "No, it hasn't changed. But who knows the future?"

At that, Paulina looked at her, "It's not because you're pregnant that you're letting your thoughts run away with you, is it?".

"Maybe." Bonita shrugged.

"Then don't let loose." Paulina slammed on the brakes at the stoplight and reached out to gently stroke her bulging belly, frowning.

"The baby is a testament to your love for Alvaro, it's good for the baby to be in a good mood."

Bonita nodded, "Yes, I know."

Paulina looked at her and said seriously, "It looks like we need to get Alvaro to spend more time with you. I'll talk to Marcos when he gets back and ask him to give Alvaro less work." "Thank you, sister-in-law."

Bonita did want Alvaro to spend more time with her, but she was embarrassed to ask him because she was working so much.

"It's all family, why say thank you."

They both looked at each other and smiled.

...

The next day, at lunch, Paulina brought up the subject.

"Marcos, Bonita's belly is getting bigger every day, it's very hard and she needs company."

Paulina put down the chopsticks and said with some hesitation, "Why don't you ask Alvaro to give up some of the work to Alfredo so Alvaro can have more time with Bonita?" Marcos looked at her, "Why are you bringing this up out of the blue?"

"Because I'm well aware of how hard it is to be pregnant."

"Okay, I'll talk it over with Alvaro." Marcos agreed willingly.

What he regretted most was not being able to be by her side when she was pregnant with Sweety.

So it was time for Alvaro to spend more time with Bonita.

Seeing that she agreed, Paulina arched her eyebrows instantly, "Alvaro must be especially happy and will work even harder when the baby is born!"

A soft smile tugged at the corners of Marcos' mouth, "He's always worked hard. We'll see how it goes over time and let him take a long vacation if he can." "Mmmmmm." Paulina nodded vigorously, "Great."

Instead of being relieved to know he was giving up some of his work, Alvaro's heart clenched and he ran to the president's office to ask for clarification. "Brother, are you unhappy with my recent work?"

Marcos raised his head, clear-eyed, and asked rhetorically, "Who told me I'm unhappy with you?"

"No. Didn't you ask me to give you some of my work?". Alvaro didn't understand for a moment what he meant.

"Your brother expected you to spend more time with Bonita."

Paulina was sitting in her office just in time to see Alvaro hurry up and followed him to see what was going on.

At that, Alvaro was confused for a couple of seconds and reacted as an afterthought, "So..."

Seeing his dismayed face, Paulina nodded, "Yes, that's exactly what you think."

"Thank you sister-in-law!" Marcos had an excited look on his face.

Since Bonita had been pregnant, he had spent very little time with her and had always felt guilty.

It was nice to finally spend more time with her now.

Paulina laughed, "Why thank me? It was your brother's arrangement."

Alvaro coughed slightly embarrassed before looking at Marcos, "Thank you brother."

Marcos looked pale and merely said, "You get through to Alfredo as soon as possible and see to it that he gets the urgent job." "Good. I'll get Alfredo right away."

Alvaro turned and went out.

Watching the door close, Paulina looked away from Marcos and tilted her head, half seriously, half jokingly, "I wish you had more free time too." Marcos raised an eyebrow, "So I'm giving the job to Alvaro?"

"No." Paulina was too busy shaking her head, "It's not easy for me to spend more time with Bonita."

Marcos smiled and pulled her up onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her, "When this time is over, it will be easier for me too, and then I can spend more time with you and the baby." "Actually, I'm fine, after all, I work with you every day." Paulina covered his hand and continued, "It's just that, unlike Esteban and Sweety, you don't spend much time with them right now." "I'll make it up to them." Mark buried his head in the crook of her neck and slowly closed his eyes, his nostrils lingered on her scent and he felt the tiredness in his body dissipate. The office fell silent and Paulina's mouth curved into a blissful smile.

She wished time would stop here.

After an unknown amount of time, Marcos let go of her hand.

"I'm going to finish my work first, so I should be able to go home early today."

His voice rang in her ears, low and husky, with a hint of charming sensuality.

Paulina jumped off her lap and smiled at Dulce, "Okay, keep your word."

"As long as you don't get in my way, I'm sure I can do it." Marcos looked at her with a wry smile.

Paulina gave him a feigned look of disgust, "Are you blaming me?".

Marcos stood up and rubbed her head, his voice soft, "No, I'm not blaming you. I can't wait for you to influence me."

Paulina's face heated up and she said, "Get to work," before running out of the room.

Marcos looked back at her and laughed.

In the evening, he left work on time and went home for dinner with Paulina.

It was expected to be a warm and quiet evening, but late in the evening, Marcos' cell phone rang.

"Marcos, the phone is ringing..." Paulina said half asleep and went back to sleep.

Marcos put an arm around her and with the other hand he picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID, it was Alfredo.

He spoke in a cold voice, "This better be urgent or you're in for punishment tomorrow."

"Prince, something has happened!"

Alfredo's urgent voice came out of the handset and Marcos' drowsiness faded instantly as he asked in a deep voice, "What's wrong?" "An old man has died in the hospital and his daughter says you forced him to die."
