Chapter 1339: The difference between clouds and mud.
"Painful?"
Edgar froze in place, "Why would you be in pain?"
"Because you're too good." Edwina sniffled and pulled away from his hand, laughing to herself. "We were meant to be so different, and your family history is a constant reminder that I'm not good enough for you." "But I don't care."
"If you don't care, there's always someone who does." Edwina lowered her eyes.
"Someone?" Edgar frowned, "Who?"
Edwina looked at him and took a deep breath. "Whoever it is doesn't matter, the most important thing is that with you I'm not happy at all, I'm just miserable." "Are you telling the truth?"
"Of course." Edwina pursed her lips, "Once I met you at first and learned that you were from the Khan family and that you were the president of the Khan Group, I moved on." Edgar's frown tightened, "What do you mean by that?"
"It's simple. If you didn't have the baggage that the Khan family entails, I wouldn't have fallen in love with you."
Edwina said this with a calm look, as if she were talking about something scarce.
Edgar laughed, "Edwina, can't you see you're contradicting yourself?"
Edwina ducked her head and said nothing.
"What are you trying to say when you say you're high on me and at the same time say you're looking at the power of the Khan family?". Edgar had lost some of his patience.
He was trying to understand exactly why he was separating himself.
"All I'm trying to say is break up. I want to break up with you, do you understand me?"
"Reason." Edgar's eyes narrowed, "Don't say anything about you being haughty and powerful or lusting after the power of the Khan family."
Edwina clenched her small hands, raising her eyes as she said calmly, "I don't love you anymore."
"I don't believe in that reason." Edgar shook his head, "If you really don't love me, why are you crying?"
Edwina felt a sudden pang of irritation and took a deep breath. "Edgar, what do you really want before you break up?".
"No way am I breaking up with you."
The two men looked at each other, one calm, the other clearly a little agitated.
Edwina nodded, "Okay, you're not going to break up, are you? It looks like you're not going to die until you get to the Yellow River." She then pulled out her cell phone and called in front of Edgar.
"Edwards, it's me, are you free now? Come to my house."
As soon as he finished speaking, without waiting for an answer, he hung up the phone and then looked at Edgar, "You made me do this." Suddenly, Edgar sensed something strange about the girl in front of him.
After about twenty minutes, Edwards walked in.
"Edwina, what did you ask me to come here for?". Edwards smiled a little uncomfortably as he saw that Edgar was there.
Was that a way of asking him to come and be a lightning rod?
Edwina didn't answer him, but took his hand in hers and looked at Edgar.
And Edgar lowered his eyes, his gaze fell on their intertwined hands, his expression sank, his mind had a premonition of what was to come. "The person I love now is Edwards."
The words Edwina uttered startled the two men in the room.
But Edwards was the most startled, he turned his head and looked at Edwina in disbelief, "Edwina, do you know what you are saying?"
Edgar stared at her, without uttering a sound.
Edwina looked at Edgar longingly, shifted her feet and leaned toward Edwards, "Of course I know."
"No, you, you ..." Edwards looked at Edgar, "Mr. Edgar, you may be confused, don't take it seriously."
"I am not confused, the person I love is indeed you." Edwina said firmly.
"Are you arguing?" Edwards pulled her hand away forcefully, smiled and said, "Just talk about what you have, don't bring me, an innocent person, into this." "I ..."
Edwina was about to say something else when she heard Edgar suddenly bellow, "Is that enough?"
Her heart fluttered wildly.
Edwina clenched her fists and her plain little face paled instantly.
"Edwina, have you had enough?" asked Edgar again.
Tears instantly filled his eyes and Edwina curved her mouth. "Do you think I'm making a fool of myself?"
Edgar asked instead of answering, "Don't you think so?".
Edwina bit her lip, not uttering a sound.
"Think about it, you brought up several reasons for breaking up with me, from inappropriateness to lust for Edwards' power, is that how you don't want to be with me?" Edwina reached up and wiped away a tear, "Well, I don't want to be with you. Because it's really no fun at all."
"Fine. Then I'll make it up to you."
Edgar was angry at her, angry at her for being unreasonable, angry at her for not valuing their relationship. He grabbed his coat and left.
The door closed with a loud bang.
Edwina turned her back on him and didn't look back. She closed her eyes and tears streamed down her face.
So she had agreed to break up, had she?
Edwards didn't understand what was happening to them at all, how had they gotten into this mess for no good reason?
"Edwina, has something happened?" asked Edwards with concern.
Edwina wiped her tears carelessly and curved her lips into a smile, "No, it's just a breakup."
"Why do I get the impression that Mr. Edgar is only speaking in anger?" Edwards didn't think Edgar was really agreeing to break up.
"Is that so?" Edwina wiped away tears, "Whether he speaks in anger or the truth, we're going to break up."
Before the words were out of her mouth, a knock on the door suddenly sounded.
"That's probably Bonnie coming back."
Edwina hurried to wipe away her tears and went over to open the door.
It must have been a friend who thought it was late and took the initiative to get Bonnie back.
As soon as the door opened, before she could see who was outside, she was enveloped in a warm embrace.
The familiar smell instantly filled her nostrils.
Tears welled up again.
A deep voice sounded above her head, "Edwina, I love you, I won't agree to break up."
Edwina's heart sank and she burst into tears.
Edwards watched the scene and slowly lifted the corners of his mouth in a relieved smile.
I don't know how long it took for her to slowly stop crying, but Edwina let go of his hand, took a step back and looked at the man in front of her with teary eyes. "Edgar, you deserve better."
That said, she gave him a hard shove.
He stumbled back a few steps, only to see her turn and enter the house.
Bang!
The door slammed shut.
Edwina had her back pressed against the door and her head bowed, tears falling like broken pearls.
Edgar looked at the closed door and was suddenly filled with a strong feeling of helplessness.
He could feel that she could not let go, but why was she so determined to push him away?
What was happening to her?
--You don't care, it matters to someone else.
The words she had said suddenly echoed in his ears, and Edgar's expression sank as he thought of something.
