Chapter A Gamble For Two 19
Chapter 191
Angelina pushed his hand away and tried to walk away, but Chester's kiss landed on her lips.
Though it was a peck, Chester looked at her with a fiery gaze. Angelina turned her face away, her cheeks flushing
"Chester, you're acting like a hooligan..."
She was pregnant, and her belly was so big that she could give birth at any time.
Looking at her belly, Chester lowered his head and kissed her belly softly.
By the time Angelina reacted, Chester had already gone to the bathroom.
She sat up and leaned against the headboard, drinking the remaining water in her glass.
Angelina knew women took a long time in the bathroom. But she didn't know men took this long too, so long that she even thought Chester had gotten drunk and fallen asleep in there.
Half an hour had passed, and he was still inside. He couldn't really have fallen asleep, could he?
Angelina was worried that he had fallen asleep in the bathroom, so she stood at the door quietly. "Chester?"
Her voice startled Chester. He had something on the tip of his tongue but said nothing.
"Chester, are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah..."
When Angelina heard his voice, she turned and went back into the room.
Half an hour later, Chester came out of the bathroom with a yawn.
Angelina was leaning against the headboard in the bedroom with her head lowered. She was protecting her stomach, and it looked as if she had fallen asleep. When he looked closely, however, Angelina was startled awake. "Y-You're back."
Angelina didn't know what time it was, but she just lay down and turned her back to him. before closing her eyes.
Chester lay on his side, staring at the back of her neck. She had a small frame, a slender neck, and fair skin. A few strands of her hair were caught in the pillow.
She turned over to lie flat. Then, after a while, she turned toward him again.
With her large belly, she couldn't catch her breath no matter how she slept. She felt heavy all

the time, even while walking.
Suddenly
Chester grabbed her hand. Angelina was startled, and she pulled back quickly." What are you doing?"
"Is there anything I can do to help you?"

Chester had previously hated Angelina. But ever since his bankruptcy, she had stayed by his side. She cooked for him and even helped Isadora start a business. Besides that, she also ran errands and showed concern for the whole family. For some reason, he felt a bit sorry for her. He wanted to do something to ease the hardship of
her pregnancy.
"Did you drink too much?"
"I didn't. I'm not drunk," Chester said, rolling up the blanket and supporting her belly.
Angelina was exhausted. With her belly supported, she turned on her side and closed her eyes.
Chester stared at her for a while. The hatred he had for her had long since disappeared. Truthfully, he had never hated her. He just hated her methods and how she had disrupted their previously harmonious family.
But now, this wasn't so bad.
Angelina felt someone staring at her. She thought she had fallen asleep, but it seemed like she hadn't. She opened her eyes slightly, only to see the outline of the man before her. He was sitting at the head of the bed, lost in thought. She closed her eyes again.
"Angelina, I won't let you lose."
She wasn't sure if the words were really said or if she was just dreaming. She fell asleep
soundly.
Angelina was about to give birth. Her due date was just days away. It could be a week early or delayed.
Emily had quit her job as a babysitter to stay home and look after Angelina.
Florence often came over. The elderly lady lived alone as her children lived in the city with their own families. They bought her a house in the suburbs, saying it was better suited for her to live alone at her age.
"They wanted to hire a caretaker for me at first but I told them not to waste the money. It's hard to make a living, after all. Life is so stressful nowadays. A few years ago, after my husband passed away, they all pooled together to buy a burial plot. Chapter 14
"It cost tens of thousands! They even bought one for me. Just thinking about it already makes me feel as if I'm troubling them."
Florence was a kind person. She taught Emily how to sew soles on shoes. However, Emily wasn't strong enough and couldn't pierce the soles with the needle and thread.
After she struggled for half a day, her hands were sore, and she realized she couldn't manage such labor-intensive work.
In the afternoon, Florence began teaching her how to knit.
Florence guided her bit by bit, and Emily was eager to learn.

"It'll get chilly a few months after the baby is born. I'd like to knit something for the baby. Madam Hastings, do you think I can learn?"
""You can. Here, like this. Follow what I do."
Florence demonstrated, and Emily followed, carefully knitting one stitch at a time.
Angelina had been unusually sleepy these past few days. She felt as if she could never get enough rest. But sleeping too long left her feeling tired, and just walking a few steps made her uncomfortable. She felt her body growing much heavier. ""Emily, Madam Hastings."
"Oh, you're up."
"What are you doing?"
"Knitting. Do you want to learn?"
"No, I'm clumsy."
If she stayed cooped up any longer, she felt as though she would start going insane.
Just then, Isadora sent her a message. "Angelina, help me pick up a package. It's important."
"Emily, I'm going out for a walk," Angelina said,
"I'll go with you."
"But you've got something simmering on the stove. Are you going to leave now?"
Emily hesitated. "It should be fine, right?"
"Leaving the heat on while you're not home isn't safe, but you can't take it off the stove before the food's ready either," Florence uttered always teaching Emily stuff.
"In that case, can you help me, Madam Hastings Emily asked:

"I can't. I shouldn't stay in your house when none of you are here. If anything goes missing, it'd be hard to explain."
"It'll be fine."
"No."
"Emily, I'm just going downstairs for a walk. I'll be back soon," said Angelina.
"No, I'll go with you."
As Emily was about to head to the kitchen to turn off the stove, Angelina had already put on her shoes and headed downstairs. "Madam Hastings, I'm leaving."
"You're not waiting for her?"
"Angelina!" Emily called out.
"I'm leaving first. Keep an eye on the food on the stove. I'll be back soon."
"You... Angelina, just give me a moment!"
"You don't need to come with me. I'll be fine." With that said, Angelina went to pick up Isadora's package. It was light; it felt like a document.
It was already dusk at this hour. She walked along the road outside the apartment. Even in the suburbs, there were many people. Those who found renting in the city too expensive had moved to the suburbs.
Many workers had gotten off work, and office workers had also finished their day. They streamed out from the subway station, walking along the main road outside.
When the green light lit up, people crossed the road hurriedly.
This time of the day was also perfect for elderly men and women to take a walk. Some walked alone, some side by side, and some supported each other. Others were walking their pets.
Initially, Angelina planned to return the same way, but she suddenly wanted to see Chester.
He had been especially kind to her these past few days. He no longer kept a distance from her, and he even held her when they were sleeping.
If she woke up and he was still there, he would get her a glass of water.
He would even ask her, "What do you feel like eating tonight? I'll bring it back on my way."
Angelina knew very well that she was just playing a supporting role in this story and wouldn't reach the end with him. But having such an outstanding man as her husband, she found if impossible to ignore him completely. She thought, "Let's just take it one day at a time
