Chapter 179 What Happened Five Years Ago?
"What... what did you say?"
Rosa's body started to tremble because of those words.
Her long eyelashes fluttered in disbelief.
Henry turned her around and lifted her chin. He lowered his head and approached her. His eyes were dark and deep. His hoarse voice rang out. "What happened five years ago? Are you hiding something from me?"
She raised her eyes slightly, and it was hard to tell whether the cold glint in her eyes was intentional or not. She smiled slightly and whispered, "Didn't you already know what happened five years ago? I abandoned you and our sons!"
His eyes deepened, and his lips opened to spat out two words coldly. "You're lying."
Rosa's eyes were a little uncomfortable. She bit her lips and forced an awkward smile. "Why should I lie?"
He held her shoulders and forced her to look at him.
"How can I question your love for Cecil?"
Rosa frowned and looked at him, feeling confused.
"I can doubt your love for me, but I can't doubt your love for your brother. Will you not even attend your brother's funeral just because you wanted to elope with Andy? You sold your first time for your brother's medical expenses!"
Rosa was shocked by his words.
His eyes were icy, but his voice was calm as it sounded beside her. "It was my fault. I was consumed by hatred and anger that I had never thought of these. Later, I drank to numb myself whenever I think of you, so I never doubted anything."
With this, he sneered, "Now that I've calmed down, there seem to be lots of doubts in everything!"
Rosa averted her eyes, not daring enough to look at him.
"Your brother is your life, and you were looking forward to the birth of our sons more than anyone else. Who was the one doing fetal education every night? Who was the one that slept on her side in the later stage of pregnancy so that the babies could sleep better? Can you tell me you don't love them or care about them?" he questioned her.
Rosa was shocked, but she still pretended to be calm. "You know women would do anything for love!"
"Why didn't you marry him then?"
Rosa blinked in shock. She opened her mouth, and her lips hovered, but no words came out from her mouth.
At that time, she didn't want to hurt Andy.
She didn't want to be in relationships anymore.
But she didn't expect it to become his leverage.
"So, I'm sure that you didn't have Hanna with someone else!" He announced another piece of shocking news, "Because her birthday is Cecil's death anniversary."
Rosa's legs gave in, and she fell backwards.
Her brows furrowed. He...
Did he find something?
Rosa became uneasy, and she was tense.
How could she be so careless?
She forgot to change Hanna's birthday!
"Even if you met a man half a year later, no matter how I calculate, Hanna's birthday will never fall on Cecil's death anniversary. Unless..."
Rosa stepped back little by little.
She was terrified.
Unless what?
What did he know?
"Unless you chose her birthday. So, Hanna is your adopted child, isn't she?"
Rosa stopped in her tracks.
Adopted child?
That was to say, he had not found out that Hanna was his daughter?
Her tightly knitted brows relaxed. She looked at him and did not want to explain. "Hanna is my daughter!"
She made it vague; she was neither admitting nor denying it!
"Rosa, tell me. What happened five years ago?" His eyes turned cold. "What made you leave your sons and not attend Cecil's funeral?"
After thinking for a while, Rosa looked up at him and asked, "I'll ask you a question. Can you answer me honestly?"
"Go ahead!"
"If I was drowning with your mother, who would you save? She and I can't swim! Also, you can only save one of us, and one will die!" She stared at him nervously.
An unfathomable smile flashed across the man's eyes. He raised his eyebrows and said, "Do all women like asking this question?"
"Yes. It's stupid, but that's how we think. We live in a world with doubts. Can you answer me now?"
His face was cold, but his gaze burned as he started her face. His hardened face softened.
Then, he reached out to touch her lips, and his deep voice slowly sounded, "I will save my mother and die with you."
Rosa stiffened.
Then, she gave a faint smile, which was hard to understand. "But... I don't want to die..."
Did all women think his answer was romantic?
It was, and she would be moved if she had heard it five years ago.
Unfortunately, five years had passed.
She did not find the answer romantic but cruel.
He chose his mother and never considered whether or not she wanted to live.
Sure enough, she could not trust him completely.
She didn't dare to say anything about it at all.
She was afraid, afraid that he would stop her when he knew.
She was afraid it would involve more unnecessary people if he knew.
In this case, she was better off doing it alone.
"What are you thinking about again?" Seeing her in a trance, Henry couldn't help but reach out and pinch her face.
When Rosa came to her senses, she saw the blood on the back of his hand, so she hurried to the edge of the bed and pressed the call button. Soon, the nurse came over nervously.
"Mr. Lewis, what can I do for you?" The nurse asked with a smile. When she looked at the cold Rosa, she frowned and smiled awkwardly.
"She pressed it!" Henry raised his eyebrows and looked at Rosa with a funny look.
Rosa rolled her eyes at him and said calmly, "The back of his hand is bleeding!"
When the nurse saw this, she
immediately exclaimed, "How could this be? Mr. Lewis, you're on the IV drip. You can't pull out the needle without permission. If something bad happens to you..."
"Shut up!" Henry frowned, and his tone suddenly became cold.
The nurse shut up and didn't dare to make a sound when breathing.
Then, she walked over and wiped the blood with a disinfectant.
"I... I'll go get the head nurse..." With that, the nurse ran out of the ward.
Rosa sat down on the sofa and smiled, "Why are you so fierce? You scared her!"
Henry limped over to her and sat down next to her. "Can't you see it's not convenient for me to walk? Why didn't you help me?"
"Why didn't the car accident hurt your mouth?"
"That won't do. If my mouth was hurt, wouldn't it give you the chance to bully me to your heart's content?" He approached her with a hint of tease. "Won't you tear your wounds if you move around?" She couldn't help reminding him when she saw how he was panting while coming over to her. Upon hearing this, Henry gasped. "Ouch, it hurts... it hurts a lot..."
"I told you not to move. I'll go get the doctor." Rosa was about to get up.
Henry grabbed her hand and pulled her down. Rosa fell into his arms from the thug.
"Ahem, ahem..."
"What's wrong? Let me have a look!"
As Rosa spoke, she rolled up his clothes to reveal the bandages on his abdomen. Blood was seeping through the bandages.
"I'm fine. I won't die!" Looking at her concerned look, he smirked.
"How did you get hurt here? Where else is not hurt?" How bad was the car accident? And where did he get hurt?
Seeing that she was worried, he
raised his eyebrows playfully and et
smiled mockingly. He said, "I am So don't worry. I wasn't burt in area..."

Rosa glared at him, and her eyes turned red. Why was he in the mood to joke at a time like this?
As he smiled devilishly, he touched
her
Okeek. He said with as

thick skin. This much
hurt."
Rosa looked down, and a teardrop fell without her knowing it.
No one knew how scared she was when she heard that he got into a car accident.
What if he...
What should she do?
She did tell herself that she could not be with him.
But she hoped that he could live happily and meet a woman who treated him well.
She didn't mean for him to be gone from this world.
"Silly girl, why are you crying?" Seeing her tears, Henry was distressed. However, he was secretly delighted.
He knew that she had him in her heart!
So, what made her resist all the time?
What had happened five years ago? Why did he think the car crashed into him on purpose?
It seemed that this matter was not simple!
Rosa didn't make a sound as he held her in his arms. She reached out to cover her chest, where there was a stinging pain and a trace of sadness.
However, a knock sounded, and a doctor came in.
Rosa quickly sat up straight and wiped the tears on her face.
Henry glared at the doctor unhappily.
The doctor shivered. Did he come at a bad time?
"What's the matter?" Henry's deep voice sounded like a devil from hell, filled with killing intent.
The corners of the doctor's mouth twitched slightly as he said, "T-the nurse said you removed the needle, so I-I came to check on you."
"Doctor, please take a look at him! His abdomen seems to be bleeding!" Rosa quickly recovered and said, "You can go ahead. I am leaving." She was about to leave after saying that.
Henry frowned. He stepped forward, grabbed her wrist, and said in a deep voice, "Everyone, get out!"
The doctor and the nurse quickly nodded and left.
"What are you doing? Your abdomen is bleeding. Let the doctor check on you!"
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going back. Hanna has a fever and is unwell. I'm going back to accompany her..."
"Mrs. Lewis, Mr. Lewis is resting. You can't go in!" Suddenly, Denny's voice came from the door.
Rosa was stunned. Why was she here?
Her instinct told her to hide.
Henry grabbed her wrist quickly and asked, "Why are you hiding?"
Rosa was stunned. That was right. Why was she hiding?
If Mrs. Lewis saw them together...
Thinking of this, Rosa smiled coldly.
The moment the door opened, she hugged his waist and nestled in his arms.
Then, she looked at the door with a sly smile.
But who knew...
"Dad, we're here to see you..."
Two small figures appeared without warning...
