Todd turned paler than before, and to everyone's surprise, he threw himself on his knees before Baron. "I was just kidding, Mr. Owen. I'm sorry. Please forgive me."

Baron said nothing. He glanced from Todd to Hardon. With one look in Baron's sharp eyes, Hardon's heart skipped a beat. Next moment Hardon dropped to his knees. Trembling from head to foot, he begged, "Please forgive me, Mr. Owen! I was wrong. Just, please, don't kill me. I never will again. I promise!"

In Hardon's view, Jacob was a mad murderer and the worst nightmare of the first-class families in Kato.

"Are you scared now, Hardon?" Baron asked.

Hardon was on the verge of tears. His face wore a very ugly look. He really was unlucky. He just narrowly escaped death from Todd, but he was hanging on by a thread again.

Tracy was also stunned. She did not understand why Todd and Hardon were so scared when Jacob showed up.

Marry was terrified out of her wits. In her eyes, the Brook family and the Maguire family were in the first rank. She had thought she could do anything she wanted as long as she had Hardon behind her. But now, both of them were kneeling in front of Baron and begging for their lives.

Just then, to save his own life, Hardon tried to blame this on Marry. He pointed to her and said, "She is the one who started the whole thing, Mr. Owen! She set the trap just for a villa! She intended to get you drunk and persuade me to rape you wife." He told Baron everything.

Tracy finally learned the truth. She was really disappointed with Marry. She turned to Marry, tears pouring from her eyes. "Why did you do that, Marry? It was me who paid for your tuition when you were at university! Have you forgotten it?" Tracy bellowed.

Marry was petrified with fear, and then she crawled to Tracy and begged, "I know what I did was wrong, Tracy! I failed you. I'm really sorry. Please forgive me."

"Get away from me!" Tracy was so disappointed in her and shoved her aside. "From this day forward, our friendship is over! Do you understand me?" Tracy said coldly. What Marry did was so vicious that Baron wasn't going to let her come out of this room alive. But Tracy was really kind. He was willing to spare Marry's life for Tracy. As expected, Tracy looked at Baron and pleaded, "Please, Baron, let her go." She hated Marry, but she didn't want to hurt her.

Without pausing to think, Baron nodded and stared at Marry. "I'll let you off this time because of Tracy. But if you insult her again... you're going to wish you hadn't." Baron looked at Marry with the utmost loathing. The look on his face made Marry tremble with fear. She shook her head and said, "It will never happen again. I swear!" "Get out of here!" Baron roared.

Marry struggled up from the floor and ran out of the room without saying a word.

After she left, it was completely silent in the room. Hardon and Todd held their breaths and were afraid to speak a word.

Todd looked up to the door from time to time, looking desperately anxious. His father Martin was his only hope, but his savior had not yet turned up.

His fake apology to Baron was a stall tactic. While Martin arrived, he would get Baron back for the humiliations he had suffered. So, the only thing he could do was to wait for his father.

In Todd's views, Jacob was tough, but Martin's bodyguards were also strong. They were the best guards in the Brook family. If they fight Jacob together, Todd believed that they had quite a chance to win. But unlike Todd, Hardon didn't think anything of revenge. What he thought was how to survive.

Marry left the room, but she didn't go home. She left to seek help.

Soon, Marry dashed suddenly into a room. At the sound of the doors opening, Tom and Martin looked back. Tom gave a sudden flash of anger because their conversation got interrupted. "You son of a bitch!" he roared.

"Listen to me. Hardon and Todd were in danger now!" Marry explained rapidly.

"What?!" roared Martin and Tom in unison. They suddenly jumped to their feet.

"Believe me! I'm Marry, Hardon's friend. You'd better hurry up," she said anxiously.

"I'm going to kill the jerk!" Tom stormed out of the room angrily.

Martin looked livid. His son got bullied twice in one day. It was a serious provocation to his Brook family.

When all of them rushed out of the room, Marry's face broke into an awful smile. The memory of her humiliation at Baron's hands would never be forgotten. So, she was going to make Baron and Tracy pay for what they did to her. "You're just a good for nothing bum, Baron! Even Jacob couldn't protect you anymore," she muttered to herself. Then she joined them.

When Tom dashed into the room, he was very surprised by what he saw. "Jacob!" he cried out, absolutely petrified.

Todd's eyes lit up when he saw his father, Martin. "Help me, Dad! He is going to kill me!" he said and ran towards Martin.

But before he arrived, Jacob got in front of him and kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying.

"Todd!" Martin thundered when he saw this. He fixed his red eyes on Jacob, his hands forming fists.

When he took a step toward Todd, Jacob said, "You take one step and your son is dead!"

Everyone seemed dreadfully shocked. Just then, Baron lifted his foot and trod on Todd's head. Jacob stood next to him with a sharp dagger in his hand, staring at them fiercely.
