Chapter 181 Insignificant Insects
Sion, who'd been as cocky as could be earlier, changed faces the moment he heard those words.
The other five department heads with him looked nervously towards the speaker.
It was Baron. A middle-aged man followed behind him, someone Sion and his company didn't know.
"What are you doing here, Mr. Chairman?"
After a brief lull, the shocked Terry asked.
Baron smiled mildly. "If I hadn't come, you'd probably have been done for, right?"
Terry said bitterly, "This shipment is very important. If I hadn't done this, the company would have paid for it."
Baron didn't get hung up on the matter. His sharp gaze fell on Sion and his gang.
The group were arrogant but knew full well that this young man was the chairman of River Construction Materials. Everyone was nervous.
"Great timing, Mr. Chairman. There's something I have to make clear!"
Sion said, forcing calm.
"Speak!"
Baron sneered.
"You might not know, Mr. Chairman, but the manager of the Dynasty Nightclub, Kyle, just had some people block off the warehouse and stopped the company's shipment."
Sion cleared his throat, growing cocky once again, "Since you've heard everything, I won't lie. Kyle is a good friend of mine. He's here to get justice for me. If you don't make me general manager, he'll bring people here again.
"Right, Mr. Chairman, you might not know about Kyle's background, right? The Dynasty Nightclub is a property of the Wilson family. If Kyle could be sent there as a manager, you see how highly he's regarded by the Wilsons.
"He's not happy with my dismissal and wants to get justice for me, which is why he brought people here. Even I can't stop him. It's up to you what you want to do yourself!" Sion's arrogance knew no bounds. He had no idea who he'd offended.
Jerome, standing behind Baron, had already turned beet red. If Baron hadn't been in the way, he'd have attacked Sion already.
"You shameless cretin, Sion! Forcing the Chairman's hand with underhanded methods like this." Terry was outraged.
"Seems like you're not afraid of reprisal."
Baron suddenly felt the whole situation was funny. "If that's the case, I'll give you one last chance. Apologize to Mr. Perry now, then leave. I'll let this whole thing blow over." "Apologize? Are you dreaming?"
Sion scoffed. "If you're going to say that, Mr. Chairman, then I'll be honest. Each day I go without being general manager is another day Kyle will come over to block off the warehouse. If you can afford that, I'll dance with you till the end!"
"In that case, there's nothing to discuss!"
Baron chuckled, then turned to Jerome. "You can bring out your lapdog now."
"Sure!"
Jerome knew what Baron was planning but could only do as ordered.
"And you? Still going to stand with Sion?"
Baron suddenly looked at the five who'd come with Jerome.
The group looked at each other, determination in their eyes.
"Who do you think we are?"
"We came here with Mr. Sion, so we'll go with him till the end!"
"Yeah, take Mr. Sion back to the company, or you can just wait for River Construction to shut down!"
The group's attitude was firm, acting as if they were going to play around along with Sion every day if they weren't allowed back into the company.
Baron looked at them, amused, shaking his head. "You really don't know what's what until you see it for yourself!"
Jerome appeared, leading twenty-off people behind him.
One of them was being carried over by two people.
Seeing Jerome suddenly bring so many people over, Sion and gang started to panic.
"What are you doing?"
Sion backed up reflexively, fear on his face.
"What, don't recognize the person your brought over yourself?”
Baron asked playfully.
At his word, the twenty-odd men knelt in front of him, tossing Kyle to the side.
With his limbs broken and going a long time without treatment, there wasn't a bit of blood on his pale face.
"Kyle!"
Sion finally recognized him.
Hearing his voice, the originally weak Kyle perked up.
His eyes opened wide, glaring straight at Sion as he raged, "Bastard, you bastard, you set me up. If it hadn't been for you, my limbs wouldn't have been shattered like this, would they? When I'm better, I'm gonna kill you!"
"Kyle, what - what happened to you?"
Sion almost pissed himself seeing Kyle's state.
Terry's own eyes widened. He didn't know what had happened after he'd left to go pick up Sion.
The people who'd come here to make trouble were all kneeling in front of Baron. Even Kyle had been crippled.
Looking at Baron who was still calm as could be, Terry felt that he really was extraordinary.
"Where's your confidence now?"
Baron asked mockingly at Sion.
None of his earlier arrogance remained as Sion trembled like a leaf.
Not only him, but the five who were with him realized the gravity of the situation. Every one of them felt only regret.
Thump.
The five looked at each other and knelt as one at Baron's feet.
"It was all Sion's fault, Mr. Chairman, it's got nothing to do with us. He forced each of us to give him five hundred thousand, saying that he needed three million to get Kyle."
The five started sobbing and begging. "If we didn't give him money, he says we'll never work in Cona again. He forced us!"
"What? You asked for three million and only gave me one million!"
Kyle almost went insane with rage as he heard those words and roared at Sion.
Sion panicked even more. Kyle had been crippled, and the five who'd stood on his side had chosen to abandon him.
"Why the hell are you still mentioning the money? I'll kill you!"
Jerome, fuming, started punching and kicking at Kyle.
After he was done, he walked up to Baron and said through gritted teeth, "Mr. Owen, however you want this dealt with is up to you. If you want him dead, the Wilson family will deal with it!" Up until this moment, Sion and his gang realized that the middle-aged man was with the Wilson family and grew even paler.
Sion in particular went weak at the knees and sat down on the ground.
Even the Wilson family was so respectful with Baron, while he'd gone and tried to force his hand and have Baron hand over the position of general manager. It couldn't get more ironic. Baron looked casually at Jerome. "I don't care about these lapdog!"
"Then what do you want, Mr. Owen?"
Jerome suddenly had a bad feeling.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
