I Kissed A CEO And He Liked It!

Chapter 16: Take Me To Greece?

The next day.

The sound of the alarm woke Gabrielle up at five in the morning. She got up hurriedly, despite how heavy her eyes were.

Last night, after a moment of getting cold shoulders from Kyle, he told her; he had an emergency business trip to Europe and that he was leaving at dawn.

While Kyle insisted that she did not have to aid him, she took it upon herself to get up. She was grateful for her newfound employment and she wanted to help in any way. Rushing out, however, she saw a note on her door from Kyle and it read:

[Gaby,

Sorry about last night. I wasn't myself.

I had to head out earlier. I'll be back on Friday. Don't forget to eat your meals. Rest and make use of the gym. I'll call you when I get a chance.

Kyle]

Her mouth easily formed into a circle. She bit her finger before saying, "Why does it sound like he was leaving a note to his girlfriend?"

Gabrielle quickly shook her head and told herself, "Stop it, Gaby. He is just... being nice."

Since Kyle had left, she opted to doze back to sleep and awoke again at eight in the morning. As he suggested, she used the gym and took the time to work on her school projects on a Sunday.

In the afternoon, she took a good nap, allowing her to rest until seven in the evening. She awoke after the doorbell to the penthouse rang.

When she opened the door, she found a hotel attendant bringing in dinner for her.

Gabrielle cleared her throat and said, "Ummm... I did not order dinner. I was... I was just going to fix myself some sandwiches."

"Well, Mister Wright ordered these for you, Miss Taylor," the lady said before handing the tray of food to her.

"Mister. Wright as in, Kyle?" She asked, completely bemused.

"Yes. Mr. Wright called it in half an hour ago," the hotel staff answered. "Enjoy your meal, Miss Taylor."

Gabrielle accepted the food and brought it to her room. She went to check her mobile and saw how she had two missed calls from Kyle and three text messages.

5:00 PM: [Gaby, how are you? Just checking in on you. Did you eat your lunch?]

6:00 PM: [Did you eat dinner? Gaby?]

6:00 PM: [I ordered for your dinner. You have to eat.]

Gabrielle sneered.

It was because Warren had been calling her earlier that day that she turned her mobile into silent mode.

She immediately texted him back after turning up her ring tone.

Gabrielle: [Sorry, Kyle. Had my phone on silent since my ex kept calling me. I ate lunch and will eat dinner now. Thank you for ordering food for me.]

She was about to turn to her coffee table and check what her dinner was when she noticed another text come in.

Kyle: [Ignore him. Have dinner. I'll call you when I'm not busy. Meeting my brother-in-law and his business associates.]

Gabrielle: [Okay, Kyle. Don't worry about me, boss! You go take care of business.]

A growl on her stomach made her put her phone down. She said, "Gosh, perfect timing!"

Turning her attention to the covered tray of food, Gabrielle eagerly opened the stainless cover, one by one. There were two plates on her tray and she first uncovered the bigger one.

Yet again, her mouth formed into a circle. She covered her mouth, just starring at the set of buffalo wings and some potato wedges.

"Noohhh... This is some... weird coincidence," she told herself, immediately recalling the survey from last night. "Haha! You are overthinking this, Gaby. You definitely are."

She opened the next plate and saw a good mix of vegetable salad. She shrugged and said, "I told you, Gaby. It was just a coincidence. Maybe." She pouted her lips and convinced herself, "Yeah, maybe buffalo wings were some unwanted dishes in the buffet today!"

"Yeah, I mean... It was the restaurant manager, Gaby." She shook her head as she took her seat and said, "I mean, this is Kyle Wright we are talking about! Why would he be interested in someone like me!"

***

Two days went by and Gabrielle had a seamless life!

Hank took her to school and back. Other than the disturbing calls from Warren and some school work, Gabrielle felt life was a bliss!

So far, she felt completely taken care of in Kyle's penthouse. There was nothing more that she could ask.

Gabrielle tried her best not to disturb Kyle, noticing how the man would suddenly have a hotel staff check on her if she missed replying to his messages. So far, she had been prompt in doing so for the past two days.

On a Wednesday evening, however, she was once again busy with schoolwork that she failed to notice Kyle's recent text.

At eight in the evening, the doorbell to the penthouse rang, and Gabrielle was stunned to have dinner delivered once again.

Seeing the hotel staff bring a tray of food, she squinted and said, "Oh. Mister Wright?" Gabrielle realized how she must have missed replying to Kyle's messages.

"Yes, the boss ordered it in," said the lady. "Here you go and enjoy your meal!"

Setting the food in the kitchen, this time, she confirmed that Kyle had sent him text messages. She acknowledged his texts, thanking him for being so attentive.

She opened the food covers and turned to get a glass of water.

When she brought her attention back to her plate, she found herself staring intensely at the mixed barbecue plate, which included pork, chicken, and some sausages. The second plate had cheesy nachos. She frowned and said, "Wait."

She raised her hands up, thinking. "Wait... wait."

"Oh, my gosh!" Gabrielle suddenly had a lightbulb moment. "Could Kyle have set up the survey? So it wasn't the restaurant manager?"

Gabrielle did not know for how long she was analyzing things, but it was because her heart was dramatically racing that she convinced herself that she had to know if it was Kyle.

While her hands were shaking, she texted him.

Gabrielle: [Are you going to take me to Greece?]

Kyle: [After you finish your degree, yes, I will.]

Gabrielle found herself gasping for air! Her face turned bright red as she placed a hand on her chest. She asked, "Kyle... likes me?"
