Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston)

Chapter 100 Beanie'S Call

Chapter 100 Beanie's Call

Charleston went back to the car.

He looked at Margaret and asked, "Do you want to go somewhere else?"

"Not anymore. Mr. Limbaugh, can you take me home?" Margaret said.

After all, she did not have any money at this moment. Thus, it was absolutely impossible for her to go back on her own.

Margaret suddenly felt that she was not really that strong.

She was angry with Charleston before this, but now, she had to beg Charleston to send her back because she wanted to go home.

"Sigh, Margaret, where's your determination?" She thought to herself.

If Charleston knew what Margaret was thinking at the time, he would definitely feel very gratified and thought, "That's right, I'm going to spoil you until you lose all your determination."

"I'll send you back to the Limbaugh Villa. You can rest there today," Charleston said and started the car engine.

Margaret widened her eyes and said, "I want to go back to my apartment."

"Okay, then you may walk back to your apartment," Charleston said in a casual manner.

Walk back?

Margaret gnashed her teeth with hatred. This man was despicable. Did he think that she did not know this area was an outskirt?

Moreover, there would be no car passing through the area at this time. Even if there was a car, she had no money at all; there was no way she could go back on her own.

It was obvious that the man was well aware of this, yet he said such a thing.

He was too mean.

After returning to the villa, Margaret thought that Charleston would wait for the opportunity to do something.

It was not her fault that she overthought. This man indeed had done something of the likes before. He had always taken advantage of her without any reason.

However, this time, Charleston did not pester her too much.

After he arranged for the room where she had stayed previously, Charleston went to look for Elvis. It seemed that he had something urgent to attend to. It was rare that he did not come to harass her. Since Margaret wasn't allowed to go back to her own home, she did not argue further and went to sleep directly.

Margaret slept very comfortably during the first half of the night, but when it came to the second half of the night, her stomach started growling.

She could not bear it any longer. Margaret got up and walked to the villa's kitchen.

The kitchen was huge, and it was packed all kinds of food.

Margaret wanted to make herself a bowl of oatmeal. As she was approaching the kitchen, she vaguely caught sight of a figure. She walked in and realized that it was Charleston.

He was holding a cocktail shaker, and he was shaking it vigorously. His skills looked to be on par with an experienced bartender's.

The cocktail in the shaker was blue colored.

After he stopped shaking it, he poured the cocktail into a tall glass.

In an instant, the blue cocktail in the glass formed a beautiful shape.

It was like a jellyfish!

Margaret gasped in surprise.

"You're awake?" Charleston noticed her as he raised his head. There was a hint of exhaustion in his raspy voice.

Margaret immediately realized that he had not slept at all.

Did he stay up all night just to make a cocktail?

"Here you go, this is 'blue jellyfish' that you liked!" Charleston picked up the glass with his muscular hands. "This is better than the jellyfish in the river. It's not poisonous and it doesn't sting!" Margaret's eyes suddenly widened. She did not know what to say.

He handed the 'blue jellyfish' to Margaret.

When he looked at Margaret's expression, he felt that she looked funny. He then said, "Don't worry, it won't kill you!"

Margaret was speechless for a while. Finally, she took the glass of cocktail and sipped.

Sure enough, it tasted really good. He probably added mint to the cocktail as it had a cooling effect.

However, as he said, it did not sting. Instead, it warmed one's stomach.

"Why are you here making 'blue jellyfish' in the middle of the night?" Margaret suddenly asked.

"Because of you," Charleston said with a smile.

Margaret's eyes widened and she unconsciously tried to avert his gaze. As a result, Charleston took a step forward.

"Because I want you, Margaret!" Charleston continued.

"I, I..." Under the charm of the man, the arrogant Margaret was at a loss for words for a moment. She did not know what to do, or say.

Awkwardness pervaded the air. Suddenly, Margaret's phone rang.

It was as if Margaret had seen her savior. She quickly placed the cocktail aside and took out her mobile phone. She awkwardly said to Charleston, "I, I'll have to take this call." Charleston pursed his lips and took a step back in silence.

Only then did Margaret let out a sigh of relief. She looked at the caller's name on her screen and suddenly relaxed a little.

"Beanie?" Margaret said cautiously.

It should be daytime in Milesburg. No wonder Beanie was calling her.

"Aunt Margaret, I can't fall asleep," the childlike voice whined.

"Why not? Are you in bed?" Margaret asked worriedly.

"Yes." Beanie nodded obediently.

Margaret asked again, "Where is Grandpa and Grandma?"

"I don't know. I've been alone in my room all this time."

"Beanie, did you not talk to your grandparents again today?" It seemed like Margaret had eyes in Milesburg. She instantly knew what was going on on the other side of the planet. Beanie nodded. His voice was as soft as a mosquito's. "I don't want to talk to them. Aunt Margaret, I just miss you."

Margaret sighed and said, "Good boy, I'm here because I have something very important to attend to. I'll go to Milesburg to see you as soon as I'm done, okay?"

"Since you've promised me, no take-backs!" Beanie said hurriedly. The little monster on the other end of the line seemed to be really worried that she would break her promise. Margaret nodded with a smile, "Don't worry. If so, shouldn't you be a good boy and have your meal obediently?"

Based on the time zone difference, it was time for Beanie to have a meal there.

"Okay." Beanie nodded and hung up the phone.

Margaret looked at the dimmed screen and suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Who is Beanie?" A faint, curious voice asked.

Margaret was surprised for a moment and saw Charleston staring straight at her.

Margaret realized that she didn't try hard enough to be away from Charleston when she was on the phone. In other words, this man had heard everything.

"A friend's child." Margaret blinked her eyes.

"Little one, you seem to be hiding a lot of secrets. Can't you just tell me?" Charleston said as he stretched out his hand, wanting to touch Margaret's hair. Even with the power of the Limbaugh family, he could not find out what exactly had happened to Margaret in Milesburg.

This meant that someone who wielded the same power as the Limbaugh family had gotten rid of Margaret's past. Who on earth was it?

The look on Charleston's face changed, and the hand that he stretched out awkwardly paused in mid-air.

It was because Margaret avoided his hand.

"Mr. Limbaugh, I'm sorry..." Margaret said apologetically.
