Chapter 11 — Mio Bellissimo Amore

Vincent showed up at Rebecca's to take her to dinner. He knocked on the door but there was no answer. He knocked three times and still nothing so he tried the door. "Unlocked. Of course," he muttered as he opened her door. "Rebecca, I have told you. Leaving your door unlocked isn't safe," he shouted. He waited for her to yell back but got nothing. He could hear a sound but, he wasn't sure what it was. "Rebecca? Are you okay?" He shouted. No answer but the noise again. He ran up the stairs, the sound getting louder, "Rebecca?" He walked to the bathroom door that wasn't closed all the way. Rebecca was sitting on the floor beside the toilet with her head against the wall. She had a towel wrapped around her she looked like she had gotten out of the shower before she got sick. "Rebecca," he rushed to sit beside her.

"Vince?" She said lifting her head and looking at him through the tears that were in her eyes from all the vomiting she had been doing for the last hour.

"Hey. I'm here, Rebecca," he moved the hair out of her face. He kissed her forehead before standing up and looking for a wash rag. After he found one, he wet it and wiped her face. "You okay?" Rebecca shook her head. "Yeah. Now," she laughed. She started to stand up, Vincent rushed to help her up. "Thank you but really I am fine," she sent him a smile as she walked to the sink to brush her teeth.

"Maybe we should stay in again if you aren't feeling well," he told her as he stood behind her looking at her through the mirror. Rebecca spit into the sink and rinsed her mouth before answering him.

"No. We are going to dinner. I am fine now. It just comes on sometimes but it doesn't last that long," she waved him off and left the bathroom. She walked into her closet to grab the dress she had decided on for tonight. "I didn't know how formal was were being so I hope what I picked out is okay," she shouted out to him.

Vincent had a smile on his face, "Whatever you wear will be perfect I'm sure. If not, we will adjust to accommodate your..." he trailed off when Rebecca stepped out of her closet in a tight lacy bodycon dress with a plunging neckline. Rebecca smiled when she noticed him running his eyes from her legs all the way up. She raised an eyebrow when he reached her face.

"Do you like?" She spun around for him to see it all. "I hope it's okay. I bought it awhile back and hadn't gotten to wear it. With the baby I won't be able to soon so I thought," she shrugged and looked down at herself. "No. I mean yes. It's perfect," Vincent stuttered. Rebecca widened her smile. She walked closer to him and kissed his cheek.

"Your child is hungry. Can we go eat now?" She whispered into his ear. Vincent nodded his head afraid that his voice would fail him. She left him standing there and walked downstairs to the front door waiting for him to follow. Vincent had arranged for a private table outside on the covered patio of the restaurant. "This is beautiful, Vince," she whispered when she took in the twinkle lights and the lit candles on the table. Vincent pulled her out a chair for her and motioned for her to sit. He sat across from her and sent her a smile. "Thanks for this." Vincent's brows furrowed.

"What do you mean? You know that I should be the one thanking you right?"

"Yeah right," Rebecca scoffed.

"Seriously, Rebecca. I know that this is hard for you to give me a chance and I really apricate you giving me one."

"Vincent it's not hard. I want this," she reached her hand across the table and grabbed his.

"Hey what can I get you guys?" The waitress asked interrupting their moment. Vincent sent her a glare. Rebecca noticed and gave his hand a squeeze sending him a smile when he looked at her. She turned to the waitress and gave her a reassuring smile. She could visibly see her relax when she did.

"What's your name?" She asked the waitress.

"Natalie," she stuttered looking a Vincent and then the ground.

"I like that name," She smiled and turned to Vincent, "maybe we should put that on the list for names for the baby." She turned back to Natalie, "I will take just water." Nodding Natalie looked to Vincent for his order. He was looking at Rebecca completely in awe of the way she just calmed him and the situation. Not that it was that big but it was amazing that she took control.

"Water will be fine," he finally answered her. "Do you mind if I order for you? I know that you will love the chicken parmigiana," he told her. Rebecca nodded her head. Vincent turned to look at Natalie Add some bacon to the chicken parmigiana. It's her favorite," he looked at Rebecca out of the corner of his eye, "and bring me the carbonara." He turned back to Rebecca without another word to Natalie. She sent a smile to Rebecca before leaving quickly. "You know you could be nicer to her. Maybe less big, bad mafia man and more nice, I-know-how-to-talk-to-people human man," Rebecca scolded him. Vincent smiled at her and reached across the table to take the other hand he wasn't already holding.

"You're right. I just really hate being interrupted especially when I'm talking to the most beautiful women ever that is carrying my child," he winked at her. She laughed and let go of his hands. Sitting up straighter she started picking at her fingernails. "Rebecca is something wrong?" She shook her head. She was nervous to bring up what she had been wanting to since she had lunch with Tobin and the girls.

"I just was wondering. If maybe you... would um... teach me to fight and shoot a gun," she asked him without looking at him. She looked up when she heard him laugh and gave him a questioning look.

"Oh... Are you serious?" Rebecca nodded her head. "Well I mean you can't fight. You're pregnant. You remember that, right?" Rolling her eyes, she sat back and crossed her arms. She figured she would have to convince him but she didn't think that he would think it was funny.

"I know that. Obviously, I would wait until after I have the baby. But you could teach me how to shoot a gun." She noticed that he didn't look like he liked the idea. "I just don't want to have a million guards following me around all the time and when the baby comes then what?" Vincent smiled wide causing Rebecca to lift an eyebrow.

"Does that mean that you are planning on us being... something?" Rebecca looked down and started picking her fingernails again.

"I mean... Well, yeah," she shrugged not looking up. Vincent tried to contain his smile.

"Okay. I will teach you to shoot. As long as you promise that you will think more about moving in with me," he bit his lip when her head shot up.

"Actually. I thought we could talk about that too."

"Okay. I want you to move in all it takes is you saying yes." Rebecca nodded.

"I think maybe we should try it. For you the baby... and for us," she smiled. She had thought about it long enough and she needed to just jump in and see where it took them. "But there needs to be rules," she added.

"Okay what are your rules?" He sat back in his chair. Natalie arrived with their food before Rebecca could answer him. "I think that will be everything, Natalie," he said before she could ask. Nodding she turned and left them alone again. "So, rules?" Rebecca took a bite of her food to buy time.

"Okay. One," she said after swallowing, "No other women," she looked at him and he smiled.

"Isn't that always rule one in a relationship?" Rebecca shrugged. She had thought that she would have to make rules for their relationship to be normal. She didn't think that he knew what that was he seemed more like the do whatever he wanted type. "I have a rule," he said bringing her out of her thoughts. She nodded for him to continue. "When I want to treat you," he started and leaned toward her, "you have to let me," he sent her a cocky smile. "What do you mean?"

"I mean if I buy you something or take you somewhere, basically if I do anything for you, you have to accept and not complain," he sent her a smile as he watched her realize what he was saying.

"Fine," Rebecca huffed and folded her arms. "I have another one. I need to not have to be in the house all the time. I want to be able to go out and no guards at the clinic or the hospital." She made sure she said it in a firm voice. She really didn't want her patients feeling uncomfortable because there was some grizzly bear of a guy standing outside the room.

"About the clinic and hospital," Vincent said taking a drink of water. "You know being with me, you won't have to work. So, what if you just quit both?" Vincent regretted it the second he saw Rebecca's frown.

"I have been working really hard on the clinic," Rebecca folded her arms. She couldn't believe he was already trying to control her. "I like working. I like helping people," she said getting louder.

"I get that. But I don't think it's a good idea with the baby and everything. He's going to need you. I mean I'll get you a nanny still but-," Rebecca held up her hand to stop him.

"I don't want a nanny. And I plan to take maternity leave. I probably won't go back to the hospital but, the clinic is important to me." Vincent could tell that Rebecca wasn't going to waver on this so he chose to nod his head. "So now that that's settled, would you maybe like to kiss me? You know celebrate me agreeing to move in," she smiled at him. Vincent jumped up and came to her side of the table. He bent down and cupped her head in his hands. Rebecca could feel the warmth of Vincent's lips as he connected them to hers.

"You have made me so happy, Rebecca," he said against her lips.

When they finished eating, Vincent asked Rebecca if she wanted to go to her place or his. She told him that his place would work knowing that he would be happier with that answer.

Vincent let Rebecca walk in first after putting the code in to open the door to his place. "I have to go make a call but, you are welcome to your old room or mine. I will respect whatever you decide," he turned and walked quickly to his office before she could respond.

Rebecca laughed and shook her head. She made her way to Vincent's bedroom. Walking into his closet, she found a shirt that looked like it would be comfortable to sleep in and changed into it before climbing into bed. She groaned when she laid back in the bed. She didn't even know she had missed the comfort of the bed until she laid in it again.

It was nearly an hour before Vincent got off the phone and walked to the door of Rebecca's room. He knocked but got no answer. He pushed the door open, "Rebecca, I just wanted to say goodnight," he called but got no answer. He thought she may be in the kitchen getting something to drink so he headed that way but stopped when he noticed his bedroom door was open. He always shut it and the maid knew to make sure that it was shut too. Pushing it open more so he could walk in, he noticed someone was already laying in the bed on the opposite side than he slept on. "Rebecca?" He watched as she rolled over to face him and smiled.

"I hope you don't mind. But I don't see any point in my sleeping across the hall from you when I want to be here with you," she bit her lip. She was being bold and she was nervous but she didn't want him to know that.

Vincent walked further into the room and shut the door behind him. As he walked toward her, he loosened his tie. "I didn't see a point either but I was trying to be a gentleman," he laughed throwing his tie on his end table. Rebecca laughed as she watched him unbutton his shirt and slide it off his shoulders. They both knew what was going to happen and neither of them wanted to stop it.

Rebecca watched Vincent slid into the bed. He was taking too long but she forced herself to wait. She felt his arm wrap around her waist and pull her closer to him. "I have missed this," he whispered into her ear as he nuzzled her neck. She tilted her head to the side so he had more room and released a moan. She had always loved feeling his light stubble on her neck.

"Me too," she whispered. It barely made it past her lips before she moaned again. She heard him chuckle a little and pulled away from him enough to see his face. She quirked an eyebrow which caused him to laugh louder.

"I am sorry, Mi amore," he said trying to contain his laughter. "I just love how you react to me." He sobered himself and sent her that smile that always got her going. Leaning back toward him she connected their lips in a passionate kiss. This time it was her turn to hear how he reacted to her. His deep grunt and that turned to a moan made her want him more than ever. She pulled away from him and looked deep into his eyes.

"I love you," she said pointily. She needed him to know how much everything meant to her. She was diving in and unlike last time, she wouldn't fight any feels she had.

"And I love you, mio Bellissimo amore," he smiled at her before kissing her again. Rebecca loved when he spoke to her in Italian even though she didn't know what he was saying. But she made a note that she would need to learn to speak it a little she was sure Vincent would want his child to speak it and she would not have her child speaking to her in a language she didn't understand.

Vincent's kiss ignited her body as he trailed down to the valley between her breasts. He never was shy about how much he loved them and she loved him for it. Smiling up at her, he sent her a wink before continuing to tease her. "Vince," she whined, "please." He held in his laugh this time not wanting to have to detour for another explanation. He would give her what she wanted. Tonight. Tomorrow. And every day of the rest of their lives or for as long as she let him.
