Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 173

Chapter 173

Life hung sip the phone and looked to meet Nadia's angry gaze

"Lcalled Ms. Lynde."

Nadu's disapproval intensified tenfold. "We're all adults here. If you don't want to do it, just say it outright. But lying so blatantly is simply too much!"

Ms. Cooper, we've discussed this before, and you refused." Lily had to remind her. Her attitude of acting like she was open to discussion was completely Wasn't it Nadia who had clearly turned down Sarah's project before?

"Just because you talked to me and I disagreed, does that give you the right to lie? Do you think Ms. Lynde and I are fools?" Nadia was even angrier.

Lily realized she had misspoken. She stood up, remaining calm and serious, "I didn't lie. On the day it snowed, I spoke to Ms. Lynde on the phone, and she confirmed that I wouldn't be taking on the design project for Glenview Villa" Nadia didn't believe her at all. "Whether you want to take on Ms. Lynda's project or not, lying is wrong. Go apologize to her, or your reputation in the industry will be ruined, and I'll be dragged down with you if this gets out!" Atter venting, she left. The problem was now left for Lily to deal with.

Sarah truly hadn't said anything on the phone, and even if she had, there was no evidence to prove that she had agreed to her decision. By this reasoning. Lily was at fault.

She grabbed her phone, went to the pantry, and dialed Sarah's number. It wasn't an apology. She wanted to ask what Sarah really wanted.

Personally, Xavier had asked her to apologize to Sarah. Professionally, Nadia had also told her to apologize.

How much longer did Sarah plan to drag this out? Did she really not care that Lily might leak the photos to Xavier, or was she confident that Lily would not do it?

The phone rang again and again. At first, no one answered, and then the call was directly hung up. After a few more tries, the number was no longer reachable Sarah had blocked her.

Lily sat in a chair, running her fingers through her hair, massaging her temples in frustration. She truly didn't understand what Sarah was trying to achieve.

But she knew Sarah wouldn't really sever the only connection she had with her.

After a while in the pantry, she went to find Nadia, hoping she could step in and help arrange a meeting with Sarah.

"You made your own mess, so you deal with it," Nadia said, not planning to intervene.

Lily had no choice but to say, "She blocked me, and I can't just go to Nova Group to find her. I'm not very good at reading the room, and if something happens and it affects Ms. Lynde's reputation, it wouldn't be good." Nadia was genuinely worried she would cause a scene at Nova Group, which could upset Xavier and cause trouble for the whole company. "I'll help you this one last time!"

"Thank you. Once you've arranged the meeting, send me the time and location."

Though Lily couldn't quite figure out where Nadia's dislike of her came from, she could understand Nadia's temper very well

She suddenly remembered to reply to Rowan's message at her desk

"Dr. Blackwood, if you have time this weekend, I'd like to meet you at the hospital to discuss Hayden's condition."

Rowan replied with a thumbs-up emoji.

She thought that aside from continuing to cause trouble and setting various traps for her, Sarah couldn't do anything that would hurt her meaningfully. So, Lily focused all her attention on Hayden.

She couldn't wait until the weekend to meet with Rowan and hear what he meant by "finding the right person". Just how confident was he about treating Hayden's condition?

But she didn't expect that, before the weekend, an extreme action would lead her to meet Hayden ahead of schedule.

On Thursday evening. Nadia told her she had arranged a meeting with Serah

In the afternoon, Nadia went to meature for a client but wasn't at the office. So, Lily and Nadia went their separate ways to meet Sarah.

A Maybach merged into traffic as Lily drove along the street, her eyelid twitched uncontrollably.
