Heart Stolen by A Heartless Man

Chapter 33 Caught off Guard

Although it was only an engagement party, the engagement was between the two most prestigious families, Morgan and Porter family. Finnley had sent out numerous invitations, so the number of guests who came to the part was uncountable.

Finnley was joyfully weaving his way through the crowd, his face was visibly red. Not sure whether it was from too much wine or too happy.

His subordinate came over and whispered something in his ear. Finnley then smiled and said to the guest, "I'm not the main character today, my son and Miss Porter are ready for tonight's grand event. And let the engagement party begin now while I excuse myself for a moment!"

The guest responded in laughter while Finnley went upstairs and ordered the maid to check on Rowan's. He then went to Greyson's room.

He pushed open the door and saw Greyson wearing his straight suit in his room.

Finnley looked at his son in satisfaction and patted him on the shoulder, "Greyson, the engagement party is about to start, let's go."

Greyson nodded without many expressions.

Finnley was delighted for how obedient his son and took him by the shoulder and went out with him.

"Everyone!" Finnley said with a smile on the stage. Sensing the guest had brought their attention towards him, after a short pause, he continued, "I am grateful to all of you for coming to my son and Miss Porter's engagement party!"

The crowd focused on the person next to him, Greyson. All the young female guests were shy and dumbfounded.

They dreamed that they were the one who was engaged to him instead.

Greyson stood there in formal clothes. His hair was short and thick, looked strong and full of manliness.

Finnley saw the infatuated expressions of the young female guests off stage and became even smugger, "Thank you all for your blessings, my son will definitely live happily with Miss Porter! I would also like to wish you all prosperous business, good health and all the best!"

A few polite words made the guests applauded with smiles.

"Well then, let us all welcome Miss Porter," Finnley announced with a clear and loud voice. He raised his hand, the door swung open, Rowan walked in like a proud white swan fluttering its wings. This time, the male guests showed smitten glances.

Miss Porter was a dream of all men in town.

Never thought she'd be married to that brat...

Greyson looked at Rowan but felt nothing inside of him.

After all, she was gorgeous, no doubt. But she just didn't make Greyson's heart skipped a beat.

Rowan looked at Greyson standing there pensively made her blush even more while she slowly made her way towards him.

Finnley stood in between them, and held their hands together with a smile.

Greyson's whole body stiffened again, but soon got a hold of himself.

Finnley performed the engagement ceremony personally for them and shone a big smile as he watched both with engagement rings on their middle fingers.

People were cheering with wine and dancing happily.

Greyson invited Rowan for the first dance of the night, driven by Finnley.

As soon as he touched Rowan's body, the strange and uncomfortable feeling rushed up to his body again.

Greyson endured this strong feeling and managed to finish the dance with her.

The guests applauded, Rowan bowed like a graceful little swan while Greyson, still enduring the uncomfortable feeling, bowed down and left.

Finnley said, "I would still need to stay here, head back if you feel tired. Greyson, please escort her back."

"Hmm." Greyson nodded and turned his head towards Rowan, "Are you leaving?"

"Well... how about a walk?" Rowan replied with some embarrassment.

"Father, we will excuse ourselves then." Greyson nodded towards Finnley, Rowan also said goodbye, and both left the banquet hall.

The light evening breeze was refreshingly cool.

Greyson felt better after escaping from that suffocating banquet hall. He loosened his tie, and said to Rowan, "Let's go, I'll take you home." Rowan nodded shyly.

Two of them walked side by side, neither spoke anything.

Naturally, Greyson felt it was good to be silent and he also had no desire to talk to her.

Rowan, on the other hand, didn't know how to initiate a conversation. It's because... today, they were engaged...

But seeing that he didn't look like he was going to talk, she gathered her courage and said, "Greyson, why won't you say something?"

Greyson turned his head and looked at her, "What's wrong?"

The moonlight is mellow and the night breeze was cool. She stared at his eyes with a clear glow that seemed brighter than the moonlight. How did she fell in love with him?

When did she fell in love with him

Rowan stopped and looked at him quietly.

Greyson saw that she stopped walking, he stopped and looked at her, "Is there something wrong?"

Rowan looked at his lips as he spoke, his lips were shaped beautifully, not too thick and thin.

In the heat of the moment, she pulled him by the collar of his shirt. She tiptoed and was about to kiss him on the lips.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
