Harlow

Chapter 19

Harlow's POV

Stupid Hendrix carrying me and treating me like a baby. I storm off and up to my room slamming the door. Where the fuck is my stuff? I look around and there is nothing but a bed in the room. I slam the door open "where the fuck is my stuff?" I call out. "Language Harlow" Kody calls out before continuing "if you come down when you have finished your tantrum then we will let you know where your stuff is". Stupid Kody, he hasn't seen a tantrum yet. "Fuck off Kody. Where the fuck is my stuff?" I scream out. "Language little girl" Hendrix calls back. Oh for fuck sake I'm about to lose my shit.

"Stop teasing her, Harlow we moved you into the master bedroom. Dad thought you would be more comfortable in there cause it has its own bathroom. He suggested it before we came to pick you up" Leo called out. "Thanks Leo" I replied. I walked over to the door and stopped. I don't know if I can go in there. The last time I was in this room my mother hacked my hair off and threatened me. I reached my hand out and placed it on the door but couldn't bring myself to open then door. I can't do this, I can't stay here either. I drop my hand and go to turn around but someone puts there hands on my shoulders "I got you Harlow. You are safe here" Leo said to me.

I just shook my head no "I need to go. I can't be here" I whispered. "Harlow look at me. You are safe here. Mum is gone and dad isn't coming back here. I swear to you that nothing is going to happen here. I won't let it happen neither with the others. Your our sister for Christ sake and it's our job to protect you" Leo said. "You haven't been there for 6 years how can I trust any of you not to fuck off like you did before?" I replied. It was quiet after that, Leo still had a hold of my shoulders but he didn't say anything else.

"I'm sorry" he sobbed out a few seconds later. I turned around to see my brother crying. I looked up at him and felt horrible. I pulled Leo into a hug and he continued to sob into my hair telling me he was sorry. I'm that person who cries when I see someone else cry "please stop, I'm going to cry too" I manage to get out after he spent a good five minutes crying.

My brother starts to laugh and I am so confused. I don't understand why he is laughing. "You always use to cry when you saw someone else cry" Leo says while he is still laughing. I whack him on the chest "not cool arsehole" I say to him. "Sorry, now do you want to see your new room? I can help you unpack your stuff if you want" he says to me. "Uh I'll unpack by myself" I reply. There are things I don't want my brothers seeing like my alcohol collection. "What do you have to hide?" Leo asks raising his eyebrow at me. "Umm that's for me to know and you to never find out" I reply before turning around and stopping at the door again.

I still couldn't get past the mental block of going through that door. I reached for my phone wanting to get Toby to come over now. I dialled his number and he answered straight away. "Miss me already Harl's" he asked. "I can't do it Tob's, they moved me into my parents room and I can't open the door. I need you" I told him. "Harl's it's just a door, you got this" he told me. "I can't, I can't. Come get me please?" I asked him.

My phone was grabbed out of my hand and I swung around to see all my brothers behind me. Hendrix had the phone "we got it from here Toby. She is ok and will call you later" he said down the phone before hanging up my phone. "Give me my phone" I said while putting my hand out. How dare they? "Harlow we are all here for you. We will protect you and fight your demons with you. We love you Harl's you need to remember that" Hendrix said. I rolled my eyes at him and repeated "give me my phone Hendrix". "I will give it back to you once you are in the room" he said. "Hendrix give her her phone. Don't push her. You know what happened in that room and why she doesn't want to go in" Kody spoke up for me. I smiled at him in thanks. "She is a Walker and she needs to face it head on" Hendrix replied. "She wasn't given the chance, she was sent away with no support from anyone, give her a fucken break man" Cameron replied.

I snatched my phone from my brother while they were all arguing and headed out. I couldn't be here, not without Toby and not in that room. I couldn't stand the fighting either. I took off towards the park that was close by. I use to go here all the time with my dad and brothers when my mum was losing it. It was my escape and a chance just to be a normal kid. It was a 10 minute walk and when I got there it had changed from what I remembered.

The equipment was similar but it was a lot newer then the last time I was here. I headed over to the swing and sat down gently swinging back and forth. I took my phone and called Toby. I spent 40 minutes on the phone talking to him before my phone died. I wasn't ready to go back to the house and face my brothers or my past. I stayed swinging on the swing lost in my own head, replaying the memories of my childhood and how I was sent away from my family because of my mother.
