Chapter 18
"Okay.” Alodia nodded at Harman slowly. She stood up and he took her hand with his. She had not expected that, but she smiled inwardly. She followed him outside the hotel, where he led her.
"H-how about your VIPs?" she inquired as he took his limo keys from his jacket's inside pocket. She thought concluded Pali could have used another car to send Laili home. After all, Harman was rich and must have a few cars in his possession. It was the only limousine that was parked at the side of the hotel and not at the crowded parking space.
"I have already said my excuse to them. They're just going to enjoy the party before they'll return to their respective suites in the hotel,” he replied as they went inside the limousine.
They faced each other now and they both seemed to get conscious with each other for a few moments. They were quiet for seconds, just staring at each other.
"So, what is it that you want to tell me?" she asked him in a low calculating voice.
"I should tell you the truth. About her and me," he answered, looking deep into her eyes. It was like a bomb in her ears-the way he said it.
Was there truth behind what Laili said to her then? That she was only Harman's pasttime? Her heart was twisted and crumpled tightly within her breast. Why did it hurt? Why did she feel this way?
Her throat went dry and she gave her most stoic expression in front of him. Instead of playing Harman, it seemed that she was the one who was played by him, without her knowledge. She could not seem to take this irony. She had to turn the tables around while it was not too late! At least, that was what she thought.
"What about you and her, Harman?" She forced herself to ask this question while trying to make her voice even. She did not want to show him she was hurt. At all.
"Laili was a childhood friend and we... we were engaged," he slowly admitted as he looked into her eyes.
Her jaw dropped because of that news. She did not expect it! So that was why Laili was very confident about Harman because they were already engaged. But why was it in the past tense?
"Engaged?" She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment. "So... so what... happens now?" She thought she only had it in mind, but she said it aloud.
"I told you I have no girlfriend or whatsoever. It's all in the past. We were engaged, I ran off, we were through then. That's it." Harman gestured a hand in the air.
She blinked in disbelief. "At what age were you engaged to her?" She wanted to know of course.
"I was six and she was five. Our parents did it." He shrugged. "That's how it was with us."
"But if you say that you were engaged, that means that you're not going to get married anymore, right?" She wanted it to be clear. Of course! And then, she'd take it from there.
"I should've told you this earlier, but I don't intend to marry her, Alodia. Believe me," he clarified. "I never had that intention even when I was younger. I just treated her as my playmate and a friend."
She shook her head slowly. "But she..." And she stopped. It was a girl talk anyway. The other woman knew that they had this rivalry because of Harman. So she just kept it to herself. "I believe you, Harman," she said instead.
He looked relieved and smiled at her happily. "Thank you! Thank you, Alodia! And... one more thing." His voice dropped in a whisper. "About that thing you told her... that you're my girl-friend?" He stopped and looked deep into her eyes, trying to search something in her orbs. "Did you mean my girlfriend and not... just my lady friend?"
Her heart kicked in her rib cage. She could help but smile at him with shyness.
He tenderly caressed her cheek.
"I'm sorry for that. It just slipped..." she said in a small voice, trying not to blush.
His eyebrow rose and he suppressed a chuckle. He clearly did not believe it. "It just slipped," he echoed.
She smiled at him again, wider though this time. "I... I shouldn't have..." She acted like she did not know what to say anymore and just as she had anticipated, she felt his lips on hers. And yet, she was still surprised on how his warm lips felt on hers.
Alodia's eyes widened and they slowly closed as she kissed him back. There was nothing like the way she felt at that moment with his lips moving against hers. And she never knew how a kiss could be this sweet as the one he was giving her. Oh, how good it is to kiss his cherry but manly lips! She literally felt the butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Crazy insects! How did they get there? But oh, God! How I wish this kiss would never end! I so hope he'd never ever let me go. And I could die right now in his arms, locked in his wonderful kiss!
She felt his mouth move to open her mouth wider for his easy access. His hot tongue explored her mouth, coaxing hers. She felt like her breath was taken away and she moaned softly. Perhaps he, too, wanted to breathe that's why he briefly let go of her and looked into her eyes.
"I like you so much, Alodia!" he declared in a whisper and his heart was in his eyes.
She felt his thumb caress her slightly bruised lips. And that desire in his eyes were dancing like a fire burning high.
"And I like you too, Harman," she whispered as well and felt she did say it with a fact, from the very depths of her heart.
He looked delighted to hear it and cupped her face to kiss her again. This time, it was much, much sweeter, more entrancing, more enticing, more enthralling, more seductive and more passionate at the same time that they panted. She could not even stop moaning from wanting some more. Her arms clung to his neck, and she could not recall when she sat on his lap. She did not even consider the place they were in. All that mattered to her now was him and how their bodies were so close together like no air could get through between them.
The hem of her cocktail dress was already above her waist as he pushed it high. His one hand was caressing her silky thigh while the other was holding her waist. She could feel his strong warm hand on her smooth skin-softly caressing, gently kneading. And God! She could feel his hardness rubbing against her center! She felt the desire building up in her body so fast and concentrated in the centermost part of her body that did not stop rubbing against his hard sex. They both moaned and breathed fast and hard like they were in a race.
