Chapter 822
"Thank you," Debra murmured, gathering her robe to conceal the marks from the night before. "Can you arrange for a few people to accompany me to the Nichols Mansion later?" "How many would you like?" asked the maid.
Debra thought for a moment. "As many as possible."
Soon enough, the maid had arranged for a driver and an entourage to escort Debra. At noon, they set off.
In her room, Shelia was thinking about how to get that sum. She had boasted in front of Debra and had to present the money.
Suddenly, the door was kicked open, and in swarmed a group of people.
Startled by the sound, Shelia rushed downstairs. Melody also emerged from her room with the help of Sophie.
Debra made her entrance in a black jacket and a pair of black boots. The punk style was something new. For a moment, Melody nearly didn't recognize her.
Debra greeted her with a smile. "Mrs. Nichols Sr., it's been a while."
"I wondered who it was," Melody snorted. "So, it's you. What are you doing here with so many people? You've already divorced Juan, and we don't welcome you here."
Her voice wavered, betraying the fear that simmered beneath her bravado. Juan was not home, and Debra was now linked to Andrew.
Debra's lips curled into a slow, deliberate smile. "Have you forgotten your unfinished business? You sent Violet to kill me."
A flash of guilt crossed Melody's
face. She thought that matter had been swept under the rug, and Debra wouldn't come seeking justice. But it seemed like Violet had botched the
job and let it trace back to her.
With feigned ignorance, Melody countered, "I don't know what you're talking about. Everyone here is a law-abiding citizen."
"Is that so? You don't know about it?"
"I don't."
"So, it was all Violet's own doing?"
"Exactly." Melody smoothly passed the bucket.
In the next instant, two bodyguards dragged Violet into the room and unceremoniously threw her at Melody's feet.
Violet's face was swollen, and her eyes darted around the room in fear.
Debra asked her, "Melody claims that was all your idea. Is that true?"
When she was in Drake's control the last time, Debra knew that this matter was connected to Melody. She had secretly asked Andrew find Violet. However, before she could deal with it, Drake took her once again.
Now it was the time to settle the scores with Melody.
Tears streamed down Violet's face as she scrambled to her knees, shaking with fear. "Ms. Frazier, it wasn't me. Melody ordered me to do this. Pnever wanted to hurt anyone. Please, have mercy on me.
Andrew had asked her husband to hit her every day as punishment. She couldn't take it anymore.
