Glass: Chapter 46
I nearly bump into the tall male as I’m leaving the coffee shop. I just manage to catch my coffee before it spills, and he steadies me with an apologetic nod. Jet black eyes meet mine, and I drop my eyes down to the tattoos running over his neck.
“Enzo,” a voice hisses. Turning, I move back to let the rest of his group pass me. The girl with them, petite with cropped blonde hair, leans into the man that I bumped into. He wraps his arm around his shoulder, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
And I blink, as the other male with her slides his arm around her waist.
And then a third man bursts out, his arms full. “Woah. Thanks for waiting, team.”
“Shouldn’t have bought the whole counter,” the tattooed man counters, and the male with the baked goods… pouts.
“Zella wanted them.”
The blonde twists around, making grabby hands. And the brown-haired man dips down, brushing a kiss against her lips before he hands a bag over.
She catches me unabashedly staring, and winks.
I’m so caught up in watching them that I nearly miss my phone ringing. Assuming it’s my writing tutor, I flip the phone open. “I’m coming, I swear!”
Silas grunts down the phone. “Not yet. Later.”
I bite my lip. “Silas. Although you’ll never guess what I’ve just seen. I’ll tell you later. I’ll be home around four, after my lecture.”
“I’ll pick you up,” he says instantly. “Four?”
I nod into the phone. “Love you.”
His voice softens. “Enjoy your lecture.”
I stroll towards campus. How different my life is now, compared to eighteen months ago.
This life… this life is perfect.
And no matter what it took to get here. I wouldn’t change it.
Not a single thing.
