Chapter 117

She shouted in her heart, ‘Help!

“It’s even more embarrassing now…

“Ugh!

Ahhhhhhh!!!

“You…” The redness on Natalie’s face spread from her neck to behind her cars. “You…”

Josh stepped into the room, his deep voice seductive as he said, “Don’t be nervous, Nat. I just came back to get my coat.”

After speaking, he walked directly to the coat rack in her line of sight, picked up his suit, and then briskly walked out.

Finally, he considerately closed the door for her.

After a long time, Natalie felt her head buzzing and collapsed onto the bed…

She spent two hours digesting the embarrassing events. She originally planned to spend the afternoon lazing around in her room, but she received a call from Elizabeth.

Elizabeth invited her to a café.

Natalie agreed.

She got up and changed her clothes, and half an hour later, she met Elizabeth at the café. The first thing Elizabeth did when she saw her was to carefully examine her neck, wrists, and whole body.

“What’s wrong?” Natalie asked, puzzled.

“Hmm, this shouldn’t be,” Elizabeth shook her head. “When your husband showed up at the bar last night, he looked at you as if he wanted to devour you! Did he really not punish you physically when he got home?”

Natalie bit her lip in embarrassment at the mention of last night. “Next time, don’t you dare take me to a place like that bar again!”

Elizabeth was speechless for a moment.

“Well, yesterday was an accident! Who could have expected your husband to show up so coincidentally? Don’t be angry, I’ll treat you to some pastries later to make up for it, okay?”

After a while, Natalie reluctantly agreed with a hesitant “Sure.”

“But there are two things I called you here for today. First, I heard that Brian was beaten up yesterday!”

Natalie raised an eyebrow, “Who dares to beat him?”

“I don’t know,” Elizabeth’s face lit up at the mention of this. “They say he’s still lying in the hospital, covered in bandages, unable to even get out of bed! I don’t know who did this good deed without leaving their name! It’s great! It’s karma at its finest, showing that no one can escape fate!”

Upon hearing this, Natalie inexplicably thought of the bloodstains she saw in the bathroom this morning.

Natalie thought, ‘No.

‘What does it have to do with Josh?

‘Such an elegant and charming man like Josh would never get into a fight.

I’m overthinking things.

“You didn’t call me out just to tell me this, did you?”

“Of course not!” Elizabeth exclaimed excitedly. “There’s also the class

But before she could finish saying the two words “class reunion“.

Two unfriendly–looking women barged into the café.

Both were around the same age, dressed in vibrant colors–one in light blue and the other in light green. Upon closer inspection, they turned out to

be Elizabeth and Natalie’s acquaintances.

The two were Nancy and Kimberly..

They were part of Natalie’s college clique, especially Nancy, who, due to her profile resemblance to Natalie, was often teased by male students as the “discount version” of Natalic.

Nancy took great offense at this and harbored a deep grudge against Natalie!

Sensing Elizabeth’s discomfort, Natalie followed her gaze.

Upon seeing her, Nancy smirked and sarcastically remarked, “I had a feeling I recognized you from afar, but I didn’t expect it to be you up close.

She clicked her tongue and looked around the café with disdain and scorn. “Looks like life hasn’t been easy for you after being abandoned by Brian. It’s so pitiful that you have to come to this little café to have coffee.”

Kimberly chuckled beside her. “Oh, by the way, where’s your husband? I heard he bought you a luxury car to show off. But does he even spare you a penny privately?”

Elizabeth’s temper flared up instantly, and she stood

up abruptly!

Natalie held her back, then turned around, picked up a cup of coffee with delicate hands, and took a casual sip.

Being ignored made both of them unhappy!

Nancy frowned, crossed her arms, and continued taunting, “What’s wrong, cat got your tongue? Have I hit the nail on the head? How pathetic! You can’t even hold onto a man’s heart for ten years! I heard you’re planning to attend the class reunion. Are you planning to embarrass yourself there in person… Ah!!!”

Before she could finish her sentence–

Natalie tilted her head and splashed the scalding coffee on her face!!

Nancy screamed as her face was covered in brown coffee stains, ruining her makeup. The coffee, running down her hair, left traces on her clothes!

“You bitch! How dare you splash me?”

Nancy went wild, trying to grab Natalie by her hair.

Remaining calm, Natalie stood up, grabbed Nancy’s wrist with one hand, and slapped her hard with the other.

“Not only do I dare to splash you, but I also dare to hit you,” Natalie said calmly, wiping the coffee stains off her hands with a napkin and smiling gently. “Do you want to try me again?”

Nancy was furious!

Elizabeth raised her hand to grab a broom nearby and took a fighting stance. The staff rushed over to intervene!

Kimberly quickly took out tissues to wipe Nancy’s face. “Nancy, forget it! A wise person never fights when the odds are against them. Go change your clothes first! We’ll talk about everything tomorrow!”

Nancy clenched her fists tightly!

After enduring for a while, she said fiercely before leaving, “I’ll be waiting for you at tomorrow’s reunion! Don’t be a coward and hide! Don’t let everyone look down on you!”

The café returned to tranquillity.

Elizabeth and Natalie sat down again.

Still angry, Elizabeth said, “Nat, listen to me. Since your husband has returned, you must attend tomorrow’s reunion! You can’t let those people who have overindulged in their arrogance make fun of you!”

“The more they think you won’t go, the more you should! Give them a good show! Teach them a lesson! Make sure none of them dares to gossip about you behind your back!”
