Forgotten Wife: Let the Traitors Kneel Down

Chapter 69

69 A light in the darkness Alessandro held April's hand wondering when she would wake up, just a day ago everything seemed to be going well, he wondered when everything had gone wrong.

He caressed her face with his gloves as he was afraid of touching her directly and that it would make her even worse.

_April, please wake up, I promised to show you many other beautiful places in my kingdom.

Alessandro had begged her to wake up more times than he could remember, but she was still asleep, lost in that heavy sleep from which she showed no sign of awakening.

April didn't know if she was awake or if what she was living was a dream.

She was in the middle of nowhere, in an empty space where the only thing there was was darkness, a darkness as thick as ink in which absolutely nothing could be seen.

She was the only point of light in that place, her body gave off a faint light, she could see every part of her body perfectly.

She walked aimlessly through the darkness looking for a way out, but there didn't seem to be one.

Still, she didn't give up and kept walking.

Suddenly, in the middle of the darkness, she saw a small point of light.

She followed it for what seemed like hours, until she felt tired and stopped dead, wondering why she was following that light.

That light, seeing that she was not following it, stopped and approached April, as if encouraging her to follow it.

April continued following her until she found a door, she hesitated for a moment whether she should open it or not, that light encouraged her to do so.

As I opened the door, a bright, blinding light shone forth, erasing the infinite darkness.

April blinked several times to allow her eyes to adjust to the light and was surprised to see in front of her a beautiful valley full of flowers.

April could feel the softness of the grass under her feet, she could smell the sweet scent of the flowers and feel the warmth of the sun's rays on her skin, she wondered.

_Is this real? A voice behind her answered.

_It is and at the same time it is not, April turned around, she wanted to know who was the owner of that sweet and melodious voice that was speaking to her.

A beautiful woman with blonde hair, shining like golden threads, was standing in front of her.

That woman was beautiful, with delicate features and lips as red as mistletoe; but what caught April's attention the most were her eyes, they were golden like hers.

_ Who are you? _You already know who I am, my little one, I've always been with you.

April knew it deep inside her, she had never seen a portrait of her mother, but without a doubt that woman was her mother.

_ Mother? That woman gave her a sweet smile and extended her arms towards April, giving her a warm hug.

_Yes my little one, I am a mom.

April hugged her back, even though it was the first time she had seen this woman, she felt as if she had finally arrived home after a long journey, as if all the problems and difficulties up until that moment had completely disappeared.

April stayed in her arms enjoying the warmth of her mother's arms, the soft caress she gave her when touching her reddish hair and the sweet voice that said words of affection to her.

_ My little morning light, my beautiful light, how much you have grown, you have become a beautiful woman.

_ Am I dreaming? _Yes and no, your soul has left your body and is between the two worlds, the physical and the spiritual.

_ Am I dead? April's mother smiled sweetly and responded with a smile.

_No my little one, your body only sleeps, when your soul returns to your body you will wake up.

_ Why am I here? _I brought you to this place, I made your physical and spiritual body separate.

_ Because? _Because your magic was overflowing.

_I don't have magic.

_Of course, you just didn't know.

_I've been to the temple to do the magic check twice, I don't have magic.

_Of course, it's just that your magic is ancient and pure, no artifact could detect your power.

_But I've never felt my magic.

_That's because I blocked your magic when you were born.

_ Because? April's mother caressed her face and said.

_I couldn't let your father use you as a tool, he's not a good man, something dark and twisted lurks inside him, he must have thought you didn't have magic, it's the only way he would let you go, that you could escape from him.

_Mom, what is my magic? _ The power to heal, you are light in the midst of darkness, you are hope, something that any king would wish to possess.

April remembered that Alessandro had insisted that she start studying magic, he had been very firm about that, no matter how much she kicked, cried and complained, he did not change his mind, she wondered if he already knew.

- Why is my magic overflowing? _I put several seals on you, the first one has been broken, at this moment you have no control over it.

_Because it's broken.

April's mother put her hand on her heart and said.

_Because you fell in love.

_ That? _The seal that has been broken is the seal on your heart, you have finally found someone to give your heart to.

April thought about Alessandro, although she had tried to keep her feelings at bay, in the end she hadn't been able to, she had ended up falling in love with him.

_When your heart and his became one, the seal was broken, that's why your magic began to overflow like a river that can no longer contain the water, you possess a great amount of magic but if you don't control it properly it can be very dangerous for you.

_ And what should I do? April's mother took off the earrings she was wearing and placed them on April's head and said.

_This will limit your magic until you learn to control it, when another seal is broken, another earring will appear in your ear.

April didn't have her ears pierced, however, she didn't feel any pain when her mother put them in.

She hugged her again and said.

_I will always be taking care of you my girl, even if you can't see me, I will be there for you every time you need me, you are not alone, you never have been, never forget that.

April heard Alessandro's voice calling her, begging her to wake up.

Her mother told her.

_I think it's time for you to come back, there's someone waiting for you.

April felt sad having to say goodbye to her mother, she caressed her face with the softness of a feather and asked.

_ What's wrong my little one? _Will I ever see you again? _Physically no, since I do not have a physical body, but now that the first seal has been broken I will be able to visit you in dreams, April was happy to hear that she could see her mother again, even if it was in her dreams, because it made her feel like she wasn't alone, that she would never be alone again.

Abril's mother gave her a kiss on the forehead, a last hug and said to her.

_See you soon my girl.
