Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1302

"Mr. Marsh, back again, are we?"

Corbyn descended the stairs with a playful grin. "Oh, here just to bring something for my sister, huh?"

"Well, what can I do when she's so particular?" Brodie's devilishly handsome face lit up with a mix of helplessness and indulgence.

Flora and his sister weren't just look-alikes; their personalities were strikingly similar too.

"Hey, boss." Tara greeted Corbyn with a respectful nod as he approached.

"All good." Corbyn smiled at Tara before heading straight to Flora. "There you are, kiddo. I was worried you might sleep in and miss it. The execs are all waiting for you upstairs." "Do I have to show up this early from now on?" Flora groaned, rubbing her head. "I'm really not a morning person."

Corbyn was at a loss for words.

Sis! You think nine is early? Look at Tara, she's up and about before eight!

Getting into the Medical Hall is an opportunity most would dream of, but for Flora, it seemed like a chore.

But what can you do, except pamper her!

"Alright, how about ten from now on? But no later, okay?"

Flora reluctantly agreed.

"Alright then, the execs are waiting. Come on up." Corbyn glanced at Brodie. "Mr. Marsh, if you'll excuse us."

With that, he energetically whisked Flora upstairs, a kind of enthusiasm Tara had never experienced.

Tara pressed her lips together, feeling her heart twist. She approached Brodie. "Uncle Brodie..."

"What's up?" Brodie asked with a smile.

"Could you maybe stop making food for Flora? You're so nice to her, I'm getting jealous..." Tara half-joked, half-serious.

Brodie chuckled, his charming face softening. "Silly girl, no matter how nice I am to her, we're just acquaintances. You're my niece by blood, something she can't match."

"But..." Tara bit her lip. "Flora doesn't seem as innocent as she looks... After spending time with her, I think she's quite crafty, sometimes even picking on me... So I don't want you to get too close to her, I'm afraid she'll trick you."

Uncle Brodie always doted on her. She thought by saying this, he'd stop favoring Flora and maybe even defend her. Give Flora a piece of his mind.

But she was mistaken.

This time, Brodie didn't give in. "No way, Flora's got a good heart, not like you're saying. You must have misunderstood." "But-"

Brodie interrupted, "What's gotten into you today, picking a fight with a young girl?"

Tara's heart sank.

She realized Brodie was quite fond of Flora.

Continuing might only make things worse.

Tara fell silent, and since there was nothing urgent at the Medical Hall, she headed back to the Roth residence, feeling down.

Samuel was home.

"Tara?"

Seeing her his dark, cold eyes flickered with surprise. He signaled the butler to leave and stepped towards her, asking gently, "Didn't you go to the Medical Hall? Why back so soon?"

"Not feeling great?" Samuel noticed her pale face, his brows knitting slightly a fierce glint in his eyes "What happened? Did someone bother you?"

Who would dare mess with his precious niece?

"Uncle Samuel..."

Seeing Samuel's concern, Tara couldn't hold back her tears.

Uncle Samuel still cared, but Uncle Brodie seemed to have eyes only for Flora.

Samuel quickly comforted her, his deep voice filled with warmth. "There, there, tell Uncle what's going on?"
