Chapter 1174
"Stepfather," the young man said as he approached.
Eula turned to face him, his deep-set eyes giving off an intimidating vibe. His voice, however, remained calm. "You're back."
Eula casually wiped the blood off the scalpel. "I heard you brought a woman back this time?"
The young man's face instantly changed, and he dropped to his knees. "Stepfather, I messed up this time, but that woman showed me kindness. Please, let her go." "Waste of space!"
Seeing the young man's panic only fueled Eula's anger, suspecting he had developed feelings for Flora. In a fit of rage, he hurled the scalpel at him.
The blade sliced from the young man's left cheek to his jaw, leaving a long, bloody gash.
He gritted his teeth, enduring the pain in silence.
"I send you out for one job, and you come back with a bleeding heart? At your age, fine, go ahead and have your fun, but because of her, you've wrecked my plans! The Falcone family, the Reyes family, the Neville family-all of them in one place at the medical base-a perfect opportunity, and you let it slip! Why didn't you just blow them up?"
"Was it because of that woman? You couldn't bear to harm her, and that made you hesitate!"
The young man remained silent.
Because it was true.
He could've detonated the bomb then and there, but hesitated because of Flora. At that moment, she and Connor were inseparable, and there was no way for him to take her away. His only shot was during the initiation test when Flora and Connor were apart. And he managed it, whisking Flora away in the ensuing chaos to his world.
"Stepfather, this is on me. Punish me however you see fit. Just please, don't hurt her. I promise to take care of her."
Kneeling there, the young man was resolute, blood streaming down his face, soaking his shirt.
Yet, he stood firm and stubborn about Flora, not backing down an inch.
Eula knew the young man's nature well; when he took it upon himself to protect someone, he'd do it with his life on the line. Eula still needed him, and he wouldn't let a woman ruin their bond. en FindNovel
"So, what's so special about this woman?" Eula asked coldly.
The young man tensed up. "She's just from Austenberg, with above-average talent."
"Is that so?"
Eula glanced over at Ah Xiang. "Is that true?"
Clearly skeptical of the young man's claim.
Ah Xiang hesitated briefly before nodding. "Yes."
Instantly, Eula lost interest. Someone from Austenberg posed no threat to them, and with only average talent, even less so.
However, rumors had it that this year's Austenberger group had an exceptionally talented girl named... Flora something. If only he could capture her for his experiments.
Busy with his work, Eula impatiently waved the young man off. "Alright, get out and take your punishment, reflect on your actions. And the woman you brought, keep an eye on her"
"Yes."
The young man got up and left the
lab, finally exhaling once he was
outside. He turned to Ah Xiansnet

mouths shut."
Ah Xiang nodded, casting a worried glance at the wound on the young man's face. "Young master, you should get that treated."
The young man gave his face a dismissive touch. Such wounds were nothing to him. After all, he'd been through much worse since he was a kid.
