Chapter 1130 Too perfect
Eva quickly patted Nate on the back and asked, “Why bring up those irrelevant people?”
“I was just curious,” Nate said, somewhat embarrassed, and smiled.
His attitude was too casual, and Charlotte had no intention of avoiding the topic. “I’ve known him since we were very young, and
as for Wendy... she should be paying for her mistakes now.”
“Is that so?” Nate chuckled awkwardly and turned to Eva with a gentle look. “What do you want to eat? Let me help you order.”
For the rest of the evening, Nate took care of Eva attentively and didn’t mention Wendy again.
After dinner, Nate suggested they all go for drinks, but Charlotte and Joe didn’t like that kind of place, so they politely declined.
On the way back, Charlotte was somewhat silent. Joe looked at her strangely and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I just feel...” Charlotte hesitated, unable to pinpoint exactly what it was, but despite Nate being good to Eva and the two of them
appearing very affectionate, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
After hearing her words, Joe thought for a moment before speaking, “Perhaps it’s because he’s too perfect.”
“Too perfect?” Charlotte looked at Joe skeptically, but also felt that what he said made sense.
Joe nodded and explained, “If you hadn’t brought it up, I wouldn’t have thought of it. Don’t you think Nate is too perfect for Eva?”
At least in front of them, Nate not only handled everything with Eva perfectly, but even took her small emotions into
consideration.
But both Joe and Charlotte knew that there couldn’t possibly be a couple that fits so perfectly from the start.
Almost all couples needed time to adjust and became more compatible.
In Nate’s case, it seemed more like he was deliberately accommodating and pleasing Eva.
“You’re right,” Charlotte agreed, and suddenly realized that Nate was indeed acting strangely in this matter.
Thinking about it, Charlotte couldn’t help but show some hesitation.
If Nate was really trying to please Eva, then he must have an ulterior motive.
Could Eva, who was already deeply attached to him, accept such a truth?
