Finding Charlie Rose

Charlie fell asleep the minute they got home on Taylor's chest. He was so in love and stroked her hair while she snuggled on his chest with her worm and sucking her thumb. John started to prepare dinner for everyone as he was going to be making a BBQ so they could all watch the carols together. Next year he hoped to take Charlie to the carols in person. He made a few salads and prepared the meat so all he would have to do is throw it on the BBQ later on. He also checked to see what things they would need for the week and also for Christmas so the list could be sent to Mrs Harper in the morning.

About an hour later everyone else got back. Sam and Liam were carrying bags and took them up to Charlie's room. They headed into the lounge room after that to join everyone else. Charlie was just waking up from her sleep and put her arms up for Sam who picked up his sister. She smiled and buried her face in his chest. Charlie had a special connection with Sam. She sought him out most when she was upset. Sam liked to think it was because he was the first to have her fall asleep on him but for Charlie, it was his smell she liked most.

"Hey baby girl did you have a good day?" Sam asked his sister who nodded her head smiling. "Want to tell me about it?" Sam asked. Charlie sat up and looked at Sammy. "Charlie and hairy saw train and cock" Charlie happily told Sammy. "What?" Sam asked in disbelief looking at Shane. "We saw the clock" Shane spoke up. Charlie nodded her head "Big cock" she said causing Byron and Oliver to laugh at her. "Anything else?" Sam asked glaring at his younger brothers. "Stoopid old fool" Charlie said excitedly causing Liam to spit out his drink. "Who taught you that?" Sam asked. "Hairy cranky, Stoopid old fool," Charlie told her brothers.

Shane was red with embarrassment while Taylor laughed. "She calls you hairy?" Taylor laughed out. "It's better than Damey" Shane pointed out. "Shane, what are you teaching my sister?" Sam asked. "I'll explain later" Shane replied.

Charlie was impatient she wanted to tell them about Levi and the car and the park but everyone was talking. Charlie tapped Sammy on the shoulder. "Yes, baby girl?" Sam asked his sister. "Charlie park," she said before holding the car up to show him. "Who gave you that?" Sam asked. "Charlie got herself a little boyfriend" Taylor answered only to have all the brothers glare at him along with Damien and Shane. "What?" Sam asked. "Levi give Charlie car. Play again morrow" Charlie stated. "No boyfriend's for you" Byron replied making Charlie upset. She wanted to see Levi tomorrow so they could play. She wanted to show him her worm and give his car back. "She is three what's the worst that could happen? She lets him sniff her worm? Charlie I'll take you tomorrow to see Levi at the park" John said scoping Charlie up into his arms, Charlie nodded her head and snuggled into her uncle.

Charlie was upset that Byron said she couldn't have a friend. Maree saw Charlie was upset and asked her to come make cookies with her. Charlie smiled, she liked making cookies they made her happy. Charlie wasn't talking to her brothers at the moment and turned away from all of them.

The next morning Charlie was up early. She wanted to go to the park and see Levi. She had gotten her gamma to put some cookies away for her friend so she could take them today. She had only lasted 15 minutes not talking to her brothers as she wanted them to see her making cookies and called them in. Sam was going to take Charlie to the park at noon along with Oliver. Liam was going to wrap Christmas presents and Byron was going out with his mates.

John was going out with his sons and Taylor to get to know him better. Grandma was going to stay in the house and work out a menu for Christmas lunch and then head to the supermarket. She had driven her car over yesterday after meeting with her husband. Jackson Senior didn't want anything to do with his son's funeral at all so Maree had told him she wanted a divorce. Sam and Liam were going to represent her and assured her they would take the bastard for everything they could.

Charlie was impatient and wanted to go immediately to the park, but Sammy was too slow in her eyes. Charlie had to give Levi his car back and some cookies. Liam thought it was cute, to be honest, and instructed Sam to take videos of the meeting so he could see. Liam didn't want to miss out on any more moments from Charlie's life. They had seen the videos on their mum's phone of Charlie's first words, first steps, first birthday and first Christmas plus all the other things they had missed and they were grateful their mum had captured them.

Noon came to slowly and Charlie was dragging Sammy and Oliver out of the house. "Hurry Sammy hurry Os, Charlie see Levi" she told her brothers. "Calm down baby girl we will be there in a second" Sam replied. When they got to the park Charlie was looking for Levi everywhere. "Where Levi?" Charlie asked Sammy. There were a few kids at the park but Sam had no idea who Levi was.

"Charlie" someone called. Charlie smiled and let go of her brother's hands running towards Levi with her hands full. Charlie had her worm, Levi's car and a sandwich bag with cookies in it. Levi started running to Charlie too. Levi was excited to see his new friend. Sam started recording the interaction to show Liam as promised. Levi and Charlie embraced with Charlie dropping everything in her hands to hold onto Levi. He was bigger than her by a head but it was very cute to see. Sam and Oliver walked over to the kids who were now sitting talking to each other and sat next to them. "Sammy, Os," Charlie said excitedly. Levi looked at Sam and O's like he was sizing them up, for a kid he tried to look intimidating.

"Charlie is my friend" Levi said crossing his arms. Sam held his hands up to surrender "I'm her big brother" Sam said trying not to laugh at the kid. Oliver wasn't as kind he actually chuckled at the kid. Levi nodded his head. "Levi want cookies. Charlie make" Charlie told Levi. "He has to ask his mummy first Charlie" Sam told her.

Levi took off to his mum before he came back smiling and nodding "I can have one" Levi told Charlie. Charlie handed Levi a cookie who bit into it. He kissed Charlie on the cheek when he was done "That was the best cookie ever. I'm going to marry you when I'm big" Levi told Charlie who nodded her head in agreement. Sam was in shock, there was no way in hell Charlie would marry a guy who asked her like that.

Oliver glared at Levi who just glared back at him. Charlie deserved to be treated like a princess. Charlie spent 2 hours with Levi who was even allowed to hold her worm and smell it before she was ready to go home. Sam organised with Levi's mum to meet again at the park on Boxing Day at 10 am for a play date as Levi's mum called it before they said their goodbyes with Sammy carrying a sleeping Charlie home.
