Chapter 200

Chapter 200

Estelle turned around and asked, "Did you change your mind?"

Old Mr. Jarvis looked unhappy. "Since you guys are younger, I'll let you stay. But don't just focus on lovey-dovey stuff and neglect my work."

Estelle immediately smiled, "Yes, I promise to help you collect the pollen."

"Wade"" Old Mr Jarvis called out

The old bulter who had led them in came in, "Old Mr. Jarvis, what's up?"

"Take them to rest and bring them to my greenhouse tonight," Old Mr. Jarvis instructed, then told Jonathan and Estelle. "You guys follow Wade, and don't bother me unless necessary Jonathan said softly. "Thank you!"

Old Mr. Jarvis reluctantly grunted, not even looking at the two, and went out the side door to fish again. When they left, the previously stem-faced old man showed a smile and even hummed a tune. Old Wade took them to the guest rooms, with Estelle and Jonathan's rooms next to each other

"We'll be having lunch soon. I'll have someone bring it to the dining room next door. If you need anything, just call me." Old Wade looked kind, especially when looking at Estelle, his smile was even warmer. Jonathan nodded lightly. Thank you."

After Old Wade left, Jonathan asked in a low voice, "Why did Old Mr. Jarvis want you to stay?"

There's only one master in the house, Old Mr. Jarvis, and not many servants. Finding 'someone to help him keep watch and collect pollen at night should be easy. so why did he insist on having Estelle stay an Estelle, with her back to Jonathan, was looking at the books on the shelf. She paused before turning around to answer, "Have you ever interacted with old people?" Jonathan raised an eyebrow, "Does my fathe Estelle shook her head, 'I mean, even older. My grandfather is about the same age as Old Mr. Jarvis, many of them have quirky personalities and act childish. They might suddenly have ideas without reason, b She smiled and continued,

"Or maybe Old Mr. Jarvis was testing our sincerity and just found an excuse to make things difficult for us. As you said, he has a quirky personality, so his ideas are naturally different from ordinary people." Jonathan nodded slowly. "Maybe. Anyway, sorry to put you through this."

Estelle said softly. "We may not be dating, but we're friends, right? You've helped me a lot, and I'm happy to help you."

Jonathan looked at her, feeling a bit stuffy in his heart. After a while, he said lightly. "You don't need to make it so clear"

"So you don't have to say you're sorry either." Estelle smiled and walked out.

There was a pure white parrot in the hallway. Estelle walked over and took some grains from the bag hanging nearby to tease it, "Can you talk? Sing a song for me." The parrot called, "Ella, Ella“” Estelle was stunned and glared at the parrot fiercely.

The parrot flapped its wings and scolded her, "You heartless girl, heartless!"

Jonathan walked over and asked, "What did it just call you?"

Estelle's heart tightened, she bit her lip and turned back with an awkward smile, "I didn't really hear it, maybe it's hungry"

Jonathan nodded, took some grains to feed the parrot, which yelled, 'I won't eat! I want Ella! I won't eat!"

Jonathan frowned, "What is it saying? Such a stupid bird!"

"Stupid bird, you're the stupid bird! The parrot yelled back at him.

Estelle leaned against the pillar, laughing uproariously.

Seeing Estelle laugh, the cloud in Jonathan's heart instantly dispersed, completely gone.

Soon, the servants set the table and called the two for lunch.

Millard had already left, and Old Mr. Jarvis didn't allow them to disturb him, so only the two of them were eating.

The dishes on the table were mostly homegrown vegetables... all of which were Estelle's favorites. She looked up at Jonathan and asked, "These are special dishes in C City, can you get use to them?" Jonathan nodded, "Yes, no problem."

Then eat more" Estelle clamped some fish for him, "This fish is only found in C City's rivers, It's delicious but has tiny bones, so be careful when eating"
