Fear The Reapers: A Dark Mafia Romance (Lovesick Villains Book 1)

Fear The Reapers: Chapter 35

The sounds were maddening. Muffled by the bags over their heads and the tape across their mouths, it was anyone’s guess what they were saying. Narcissistic men who turned into blubbering cowards the moment they faced a true predator.

“You don’t have to do this!” The blonde one wailed, wincing as our eyes landed on him, “We- we have m-money. A shit ton of it. Name your price. I’ll transfer the funds right now if you-”

His words died off as I slowly shook my head, pressing my finger to my lip for emphasis. This wasn’t about money or power. This was about revenge. This was about justice. This was about her.

Gavin Anderson, Zeke Davis, and Derek Holmes. It didn’t take long for us to find the fucks who hurt our girl. After Stevie laid out all the sordid details of their crimes, all it took was eighteen hours for Atlas and Tristan to connect with their contacts upstate and another twenty-eight hours for Cyrus and I to track the fuckers down and bring them here.

Cyrus sucked his teeth with a loud tsk as he glared at the three men hoisted up in the center of the room.

“Stupid bastards.” Cy remarked with a smug smirk, “Why the fuck do they always assume money can save them?”

I could see the rage building within him. Like ticking time bombs, each of us had been on edge ever since we convened to discuss the girl who pervaded our home and our minds. Turns out, Stevie had been through enough bullshit to last her a lifetime, and getting thrown into our world was merely the icing on the cake. It was no wonder she survived us. After the shit she’d been through, Angel could survive anything.

Even the bastard who bartered her life had a full list of transgressions against our girl. Tristan put out an APB for Malcolm Warner the minute he learned who she really was to him, but the asshole had made good on his word and vanished. He would get what was coming to him, eventually. Our connections were on the lookout and with his addiction, it was just a matter of time before he showed up on one of our dealer’s doorsteps. There was a special place in hell for men who harmed the girls they were supposed to protect.

The demons that normally laid dormant in all of my brothers were surfacing tonight. I could feel the anticipation in the air and the adrenaline already coursing through my veins. My demon was hungry, and I was ready to satiate it.

“I’m afraid daddy’s money won’t help this time.” I taunted, running the tip of my sharp blade along each of their exposed throats as I strolled by them.

They each jolted and squeezed their eyes shut as the icy metal grazed their skin. As if they expected their deaths to be that quick. That would be far too merciful. What we had planned would be exactly what the sick fucks deserved; slow and excruciating punishment.

“What do you want from us?” The balding one asked, his body trembling as he looked into my soulless eyes.

“Think back to your most heinous crime, gentlemen. It is time to reap what you sowed.”

“You know Amber. Is that it?” The blonde one spoke up again. “Look man, the party got a little carried away but I swear to god she never said no.”

“Jesus,” Cyrus spat, looking at the three of them with disgust, “can we kill them now?”

“Unfortunately,” I hissed, glaring pointedly at the pathetic bastards, “that isn’t our decision to make.”

There was only one person who deserved to have the first cut, and she hadn’t arrived yet. If we killed them now, we’d be deciding for her and there was nothing Stevie hated more than having things decided for her. She would be the one to decide their fates. No one else.
