Fate’s Second Chance Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Salome was only stunned for a second and wasn’t worried she’d be recognized.
After all, she practically never appeared before the Andersons except for when she visited Jacob during the holidays. It was even less likely that the others would bother
themselves with a nobody like her when not even Isaac knew what his own wife looked
like.
At the thought of Isaac’s countenance, a hint of frustration laced Salome’s face.
“Maybe I’ve upset Mr. Anderson somehow.”
Bryan was into the pretty ladies; he didn’t care what their jobs were or what kind of
background they had. And his tone unconsciously softened when he saw the
bombshell before him.
“That can’t be right. Your designs are very artistic. My cousin might be in the business
world, but he didn’t study finance from the get–go. He took a double degree in college,
and his other major happened to be art–related. I promise you he has a degree of
appreciation for the arts. He might just be in a bad mood because he’s been busy with
his divorce lately.
Salome said nothing in response. Rather, Luke exclaimed in surprise, “Isaac’s married?!”
Bryan sighed. “For a few years at that. Word is that he contacted his lawyer as soon as

he came back this time, urgently seeking a divorce.”
He rarely visited Anderson Residence, especially after reaching adulthood, spending his time partying and living recklessly outside. All he knew was that his dear cousin got married under Jacob’s arrangement but had never met his supposed sister–in–law.
It was Luke’s first time hearing about this, so he couldn’t help being curious. “I thought Imperial Villa was a marital home. He’s been married for a while, huh? Sounds like he’s intending to make it his bachelor pad.”
Bryan gestured for the two to make themselves at home, and so did he. “Well, I guess it’s still a marital home. My cousin doesn’t like his current wife, and he was also forced into this marriage. He used to have this girl he liked, or likes, so Imperial Villa is likely a
dedication to her.”
With that, he gentlemanly poured Salome a glass of juice. “I’ll show him your work when he comes over later. I’m sure he’ll be interested then.”
Salome smiled politely as she took the glass from Bryan and said, “Thanks. I’ll treat you
to a meal if I can bag this deal.”
Bryan liked her humble attitude and couldn’t help getting a little loquacious. “Oh, you
should if it really works out. You won’t get shortchanged on the design fee, I’ll give you
that. And since it’s my cousin’s project, your reputation will surely skyrocket.”

Salome nodded in agreement. Bryan wasn’t lying. If this deal succeeded, it would boost
her visibility and allow her to enter Isaac’s circle, and the entire studio wouldn’t have to
worry about not having projects.
Meanwhile, the door to the private room on the other side of the corridor opened, and a
tall man walked out, exuding a chilling aura as he moved.
Just as he stepped in, his phone rang again.
Seeing it was Bryan, Isaac declined the call with furrowed brows.
“What’s with that face?” The man beside him caught a glimpse of his expression and.
found it amusing. “Look at you, all grim as soon as you come in. Did some idiot mess
with you?”
The private room was spacious, and there were quite a few people inside, but there
were also social hierarchies within the Hallowthorn circle.
Isaac naturally belonged to the elite class, and without exception, the people
surrounding him were prominent figures of power and influence.
As for the rest, they sat far away from him the moment he entered.
Andrien casually handed him a glass of liquor. The man’s fingertips were fair, and his
facial features were delicate and gentle, exuding a leisurely and carefree demeanor. “Is

it because of the divorce? I heard your missus refuses to sign the paper.”
It was no secret in the circle that Isaac was filing a divorce, and it probably wouldn’t be
long before his grandfather Jacob learned about it.
Isaac took off his cufflinks and tossed them to the server beside him before casually
sitting on the couch. He crossed his long legs naturally, emanating a distant and
domineering aura all over his body. “It’s only a matter of time before she signs. She
knows better than anyone why we got married in the first place.” His tone was
indifferent, clearly indicating his reluctance to say more.
That said, he wasn’t upset at this moment because of his so–called wife, but the woman
earlier made him pissed.
He couldn’t understand how she reacted so inexperienced when she had already been
in that line of work for three years.
Coincidentally, the guys at the adjacent table were talking about their girlfriends.
Men often freely discussed private matters, both light and heavy. Isaac had never paid
attention to these conversations before, but for some reason, he overheard a few
words this time.
“So, she’s been pretending to be innocent? What did you do after you found out?”

“We broke up, of course! What else could I do? Who knew just how many times she had
patched that hymen of hers?! If it weren’t for my friend at the hospital recognizing her, I
was even planning to marry her. But it turns out the child in her belly isn’t mine either.
She thinks she can use me to father some b*stard and make her my missus?! Ha, in her
dreams!”
For these indulgent young men, who lacked neither money nor time, women’s affairs
were their common casual topic.
“Women nowadays aren’t simple. It depends on what type you like. What’s the word
they use again… ‘Precise hunting!‘ For all we know, the father of that child might even
be someone you know, and the more innocent they appear, the more likely they are
promiscuous…”
Isaac’s grip on his glass suddenly tightened, and an image of Salome’s lowered gaze
and obedient demeanor flashed across his mind. Fragments from last night also
surged into his memory, still vivid, while restless unease welled up within him.
Just then, Bryan called again, urging him to come downstairs to a private room for a
face–to–face conversation.
