Chapter 35: Pack comes first . . . ALWAYS! - Allison POV
Figures that when everything seems to be getting better something or someone comes and throws a spike in the wheel. Someday the Tribunal will get what they deserve but not this day not if my pack will have to pay the higher price.
I should have realized, we all should have realized that they were meant for each other. I’m not sure what happened out there in their den but I can feel it in his mind and see it in his thoughts… he will never let her go not even for the good of the pack.
I know that after the Tribunals display of utter disrespect Michael and by proxy Ian will stand by the boy but as per usual Jane is right even if they cannot see it now. They are willing to fight, Jessie sees Jane as his and from the emotion I’m getting from him it seems to be a mix of both an Alpha and a Lovers bond.
When she had changed in front of everyone and begged him to calm down I could see it in his eyes. He would have killed Trevor if she hadn’t intervened. The flippant way Trevor acted when he walked by shows how little he knew what almost happened to him. I have no doubt in my mind that Jessie would have shredded him.I have seen and admired the way Jessie hunts.
The only way Jessie would let her go willingly is if he was dead. I have no doubt that he would attack anyone that tries to keep them from leaving.
I know what I have to do, I will be the bad guy, he won’t hate Michael, Ian or the pack, he will only hate me for stopping him. I would rather have him hate me than destroy the pack.
My mind made up I quickly head to my room grabbing my rifle, and 4 darts a double dose in each to put in my clip.
Jessie has gotten bigger and stronger these last 4 months. The last time I tranked him with a single dose it only put him out for 6 hours. Jane needs a good head start or Jessie would just follow and catch up to her.
I know everyone will be pissed at me, but I have to put the pack first, the pack always comes first.
As I near their den I notice that I was almost too late. Jane stood little chance against the wills of three Alpha males. Jessie is dragging her behind him with Michael and Ian flanking him giving him last minute advise on how to travel back to his old home.
I noticed ???off to the side. She had never been the same after losing her daughter and now watching her grandson leaving it is breaking her heart.
I take cover behind a bolder next to the stream carefully taking aim. I quickly pulled the trigger 4 times before anyone can move and watched first Jessie with the higher dose then Michael and Ian fall over.
Jane sees me then and understanding floods the link between us.
“Thank you.” She sends nudging my leg before taking off running. She knows as well as I do what would have happened if Ihadn’t put a stop to all the foolishness.
“A speedy return pup.” I put in watching her go.
THE END
