Chapter 30

Chapter 30
It was about 9 p.m.when Korah woke up. She sat up scared, looked around, and realized that she was home. What happened?
Was she not at Ember Hotel? Why was she back? Delilah walked into the room. When she saw that Korah was finally awake,
she worriedly, “Korah, how do you feel?” “Mom...” Korah calmed herself down and shook her head. “I’m fine... Why am I home
now?” “Four bodyguards brought you home. It was too dangerous. You almost fell into the trap. If it weren’t for them... I’m not
sure what would have happened to you.” When Mrs. Gardner remembered seeing the four bodyguards carry an unconscious
Korah in, she was terrified! Korah sighed in relief. “I’m so grateful for them. If not for them, I would be...” Korah was also scared
of what had almost happened. Nathan Zuniga was a b*stard! “Don’t worry. Your dad has rewarded those four bodyguards.
Remember to say thank you to them when you’re back at the office tomorrow.” “I will.” Korah nodded. Korah was impressed that
the four bodyguards were so strong. She had specially recruited them at a high price! Before Korah became unconscious, she
saw that Nathan’s men were overpowering her bodyguards. She thought everything was over. “Mom, I’m a little hungry...” “I’ll
make you some spaghetti.” Mrs. Gardner immediately went downstairs. After a while, Korah also went downstairs. Cyrus also
came back at this time. Korah frowned a little. She wanted to find a reason to scold Cyrus. But she felt a little embarrassed when
she remembered that Cyrus had given her advice after she got off work. Then, she huffed, changed the topic of conversation,
and said, “Don’t be late tomorrow. Otherwise, I will cut your pay.” Cyrus nodded. Delilah came out from the kitchen and gently
asked, “Cyrie, you’re back. Are you hungry? Do you want to have some spaghetti?’ “No, thank you, Mrs. Gardner.” “Why are you
still calling me Mrs. Gardner? You should change how you address me!”
Korah’s expression changed slightly and she interrupted. “Mom, where is the fresh beef? I wanted to add some to my spaghetti!”
“In the fridge...” Cyrus laughed out loud and immediately asked, “Where is Mr. Gardner?” Delilah answered, “They had an
emergency to attend to at the company, so they went out.” “Okay... Then, I will take a bath and head to bed.”
Korah froze a little. She certainly knew that Cyrus purposely said that in front of her. When he saw that Korah was not protesting,
Cyrus immediately went upstairs. The next day, Cyrus realized that the atmosphere in the car was dreary. “Dad... I’m sorry.” In
the passenger seat, Korah looked a little depressed. Wade sighed. “It’s not your fault. We did not expect Nathan to act so boldly.
He is so despicable
Cyrus frowned gently. He could not help but ask, “Did anything happen to the company?” Wade ignored Cyrus’ question. Korah
replied agitatedly, “You make it sound like you don’t know!”
“It has nothing to do with you. Stop asking!” Cyrus frowned and did not understand. Was Edmund fooling him? Had Edmund not
settled Nathan?
If that was true... Cyrus’ gaze instantly became ruthless! At Team Four’s office in the Project Department... “Cyrus!” Ekialde
smiled and greeted him. He had returned to work. Cyrus nodded. “Are you feeling better?”
