Every Breath You Take

Chapter 71

The news of Monica's successful blind date was reported in the headlines. Many people felt incredible about the result. Evan was below average among the dozens of male guests. It could be said that he was a black horse.

Many netizens lamented that Monica was too good for Evan.

Madrigal and Yale were siting in front of the TV and watching the live broadcast. When Madrigal saw that Monica chose Evan, she showed a disdainful look. "Monica's taste is getting worse!"

Yale breathed a sigh of relief. "What do you know? If Evan didn't show up tonight, the blind date will be boring."

"Do you mean that Evan was arranged by the TV station?" Madrigal was puzzled.

"How can the TV station know what Monica want?" Yale sneered. "I have to talk to your father about this."

"Mom, what the hell are you doing? Didn't you say you were going to deal with Monica? I haven't seen that coming. Now that she's with such an ordinary guy, we should just play numb. Why are you going to tell Dad? He won't agree."

"We must tell your father about it to prove our innocence if anything happens."

"What? What will happen?" Madrigal was very curious.

"You will know!" Yale didn't want to say more.

Zoe came back very late. After he came back, Yale told him about Monica's blind date and said that Evan did not deserve her. Zoe was very angry when he heard this. "Moni is too careless. I will talk to her tomorrow."

The next day, Zoe came to Monica in person and expressed his opinion on Evan. He thought that Evan was too ordinary to make her happy. He wanted her to end her relationship with Evan. "Moni, take my advice. The world is dangerous. How much do you know about this Evan? It would be rash of you to just be with him after seeing him a few times on a blind date."

"It's none of your business!" Monica ignored Zoe's persuasion. She chose Evan partly because she was moved by him, and partly because of the situation. She was already in the spotlight, and it was time for her to leave the program.

Zoe's objection aroused her rebellion. "Although he is ordinary, he is more honest and reliable than someone who cheated on his wife."

Zoe's face turned red. "Moni, you can't sacrifice your life for angering me!"

"Mayor Jane, I'm not angering anyone. As I said before, I don't need anyone to interfere in my life. Please go back!"

Zoe had to leave resentfully when he saw that his persuasion failed.

Zoe was in a bad mood, and so was Roland. When Roland saw Monica answering Evan's call with a smile, he got even angrier. Therefore, he went crazy again and tortured Monica desperately.

Even Beck could not bear to see it. He secretly advised Monica, "Put up with it for a few days. Mr. Wang is crazy again."

Mr. Wang didn't return to normal for days. A week had passed and he was still mad at Monica. He went crazy every time she answered Evan's phone.

Monica naturally would not argue with Roland. At first, Summer did not think too highly of Evan, but after several encounters with him, she found that he was gentle, caring and considerate. She became full of praise for Monica's choice.

Xanjer also had a good impression of Evan, and so did people around Evan. Monica was relieved and started a formal relationship with Evan.

Like any other couple in a relationship, they would go out for dinner and watch movies. Monica couldn't find anything wrong with him, so she was relived.

She intended to spend some more time with him and bring Coco back. As long as Coco liked Evan, their marriage could be put on the agenda.
