Every Breath You Take

Chapter 37

Yale and her daughter were anxiously thinking of a solution, but Zoe went straight to Monica after work. Because Roland's company had won the bid, Monica had a kind attitude toward him. She did not object to his proposal of having dinner together.

After dinner, Zoe sent Monica home. Looking at the small apartment where she lived, Zoe thought of the luxurious house where he lived. He was a little sad, so he proposed to let her move back. Monica was in a good mood, but when she heard his words, she was immediately pissed off. "Mayor Jane, forget it."

"Moni, I know that you have suffered a lot these years. What happened in the past is my fault. If I could do it all over again, I would never make that mistake. I have regretted for so many years for this matter. Moni, please forgive me!"

"I won't forgive you!" Monica sneered. "Mayor Jane, don't waste your time. Off you go. Today is our last meeting. Please never appear in my life again."

Zoe did not expect Monica to be so angry. "Moni!" Seeing Monica was about to leave, he reached out to hold her hand anxiously.

"Let her go!" A voice suddenly sounded. Before Zoe could react, he was pushed to the ground. Seeing that, Zoe's driver jumped out.

"Are you alright, mayor?" "I'm fine!1' Zoe answered. The driver was tall and strong. He was relieved to hear that the mayor was fine, but he didn't intend to let go of Roland. He reached out to grab him, but Zoe quickly stopped him.

Roland didn't appreciate it. He was in a good mood today. After winning the bid, he took all the people to the hotel to have a feast. After that, he found Monica was not there. Beck told him that she was not feeling well and went home early.

Roland felt unease, so he asked Beck to take everyone to the carnival, and he drove to Monica's house.

When he arrived, he saw Zoe's car driving into the hall. When he saw Zoe, he was shocked.

What was he doing here? Instead of driving the car in, he walked in and saw Zoe and Monica talking. Upon hearing some words about apologies, he was going to explode. This old lecher, he actually wanted to bully Monica. Fortunately, he came today.

Seeing Zoe grab Monica's hand, he couldn't help rushing out and pushing Zoe down.

Monica was also shocked by his sudden appearance. "Why are you here?"

"If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have known that there would be such a good show here." Roland said in a cold voice, "Why did Mayor Jane grab my girlfriend's hand late at night?" Before Zoe spoke, Monica spoke first, "Who is your girlfriend?"

"Moni, you don't have to be afraid of him. Not to mention that he is only a mayor, I am not afraid of him even if he is a governor. How dare he have an affair outside. Wait and see how will I deal with him!" Monica was shocked when she heard Roland's words. How did Roland know her relationship with Zoe?

As soon as her mother died, Madrigal and her daughter appeared. At first, she thought that her father would marry again, but later she knew that Madrigal was Zoe's biological daughter. Madrigal was only a few years younger than her, so she knew very well that Zoe had cheated on her mother.

Monica was very disappointed, so she refused to admit that she had such a father, and resolutely returned to her uncle's side. When she left, Zoe took office in A City, so few people knew about her identity. Zoe's official career had been smooth recently. It was not good for him if her identity was spread out. After all, Yale was his mistress. If a person who was in charge of a position was reported to have a mistress his political life would be over.

But why did Roland do that? What did this have to do with him?
