Chapter 43 Cynthia Shelley
“I knew Francesca was an improper lady. Just look at what she wore to the Zeller residence last time!”
“Exactly! She must have been repressed when she was still the Zeller family’s daughter–in–law, right? Now that she’s divorced, she’s finally letting herself go.”
“You’re right. Even if she tries her best, she won’t find a man as good as Mr. Zeller! It’s just a pity that Mr. Zeller only has eyes for Elsa, so how could he ever be interested in her?”
Miranda was enjoying afternoon tea with her friends in a famous café in the capital. She was secretly delighted to hear them belittle Francesca.
So what if Francesca forced us to sign an IOU? Isn’t her reputation in tatters now? Let’s see if Yoel still wants a woman like that.
But before she could fully relish her victory, her friends abruptly stopped gossiping and looked at her with strange expressions.
“What’s with those looks?” Miranda casually cut off a piece of cake and stuffed it into her mouth.
“We have some other matters to attend to, so we’ll be leaving now.” One of her friends offered, and soon others followed suit. In no time, everyone had left.
Miranda was puzzled and took out her phone, planning to ask what was happening. She noticed that her friends who had just left had gathered again in another place. Only this time, she was not included.
“What a bunch of j*rks!” Miranda angrily threw her phone on the table. After a moment, she picked it up again, intending to read other posts

scolding Francesca to improve her mood. To her surprise, she found that public opinion had completely turned around.
It began with a curt post from Francesca stating: Rumors never stop with the wise but with the law.
Accompanying the Twitter post was a stream of lawyer’s letters, targeting everyone from the account that first published the slandering article to the social media platform itself, leaving no stone unturned.
Miranda had seen people debunking rumors before, but never anyone so bold as to sue the Twitter platform.
The netizens who insulted Francesca backed down, secretly deleting their related comments and pretending everything was fine.
Francesca didn’t intend to pursue further legal action with netizens like these. However, those with a huge number of reposts would not escape unscathed.
As news of her legal action continued to spread, many netizens began to raise doubts about the initial accusations toward Francesca. Soon after, some social media influencers followed suit, sharing stories of the Beckman couple commandeering their best friend’s inheritance, mistreating said friend’s widow, and even maliciously tarnishing Francesca’s reputation.
In an instant, the whole internet was abuzz.
In just a few hours, Francesca’s reputation changed from being someone who was cursed by everyone she met to that of a pitiable figure who received sympathy from all.
Public opinion took a sharp turn. Those who had just harshly criticized Francesca were now furiously condemning the Beckman family even more vehemently.

Next, someone listed the benefits that the Beckman family had gained from Zeller Group in recent years, which sunk the Beckman family’s reputation further.
Comments flooded the screen: It’s remarkable how someone’s worth can be exploited so thoroughly, to the extent that even their ashes would be used for some selfish purposes even after death.
The actions of the Beckman family have gone beyond the scope of humanity. I hope their entire family gets the punishment they deserve.
This must be a long–planned revenge. How much hatred must the Beckman family have for Ms. Beckman?
Francesca was reading the comments on her phone when it suddenly rang. Chandler’s frantic and furious voice rang out, “Francesca! Are you trying to drive us to our deaths? Don’t forget, your last name is Beckman too! If something happens to me, you won’t get a single cent!”
Francesca replied calmly and leisurely, “If you want to know why I took action against the Beckman family, you should go back and ask you daughter.”
Chandler’s curse was suddenly stuck in his throat. “What do you mean?”
“What do you think made today’s trending topic appear out of thin air?” Francesca sneered coldly and added, “Perhaps your precious daughter can give you the answer.”
After saying that, she hung up the phone.
On the other end, Chandler remained confused. He angrily rushed home only to see Miranda cursing and grumbling on the sofa.
Before she could react, Chandler slapped her across the face and demanded, “What on earth did you do?”

Miranda was dazed by his slap. She covered her face and shouted, “Dad? Have you gone mad?”
“Have I gone mad?” Chandler angrily brushed aside Karen, who was trying to hold him back. “Why on earth did you have to provoke Francesca? Now look what happened – she has spilled everything, and who would dare to work with us now? You’re going to ruin me!”
Miranda ducked to the side, surprised that Francesca had traced the slander campaign back to her so quickly. She argued, “I just can’t stand the fact that she was raised well by you all, yet she still turned around and bit the hand that fed her, pushing us all into a desperate situation!”
“Can’t stand it, can you? I think you’re just upset that she’s better than you,” Chandler angrily scolded.
Stung by the remark, Miranda stiffened her neck and retorted, “Jealous of her? She’s nothing more than a former Mrs. Zeller. If we really want to compare, can she even surpass Elsa?”
Chandler asked astutely, “Was it Elsa who gave you those photos?”
Miranda’s face changed, and she pursed her lips silently.
“Calling you stupid would be a compliment! Elsa gave you the photo, and. you published the news. Now that there’s trouble, she’s conveniently out of the picture, leaving you to bear all the consequences!” Chandler seethed, frustrated by the situation.
Miranda looked up and said, “I didn’t do it without keeping evidence of her involvement!”
As soon as she spoke, Chandler looked at her in surprise and delight. “What?”
An hour later, when netizens had somewhat calmed down about

Francesca’s situation, Francesca posted a recorded conversation on her own account, accompanied by a caption: The tactics of the entertainment industry are indeed best played by those within it.
The recording was personally delivered by Chandler, who was accompanied by Miranda.
Just as Miranda claimed, although she had been used as a pawn by others, she wasn’t entirely defenseless. At the very least, she remembered to keep a recording of the phone call.
Elsa probably never imagined that Miranda would actually record their phone call. The former had spoken without any restraint throughout, even revealing the fact that she had previously bribed a bunch of ghostwriters.
As soon as this recorded phone call was released, the entire internet was left in shock.
The topic began trending again amid a flurry of outraged comments: I’ve heard of celebrities bribing the media to boost their popularity, but I’ve never heard of a celebrity actively paying off ghostwriters to frame an ordinary person, especially when that person is her current boyfriend’s ex–wife.

The netizens were immediately compelled to imagine the situation as Elsa’s jealous revenge against her lover’s former flame.
#Most Arrogant Mistress, #Black–hearted Elsa, and other related hashtags quickly scaled the trending topics, making Elsa the target of public
criticism.
At the peak of the online criticism, Francesca posted her final Twitter update: Cynthia Shelley. That’s my name.
The brilliant PR battle not only pushed Elsa into ruin but also successfully allowed Francesca to break free from her past name and start afresh with the new identity of Cynthia.

At the same time, Phillip was telling Colton off at the Zeller residence. “I knew long ago that this Elsa was no good, but you were the only one who was bewitched and treating her well.”
Phillip looked at his grandson suspiciously and asked, “You haven’t really. been put under a spell, have you?”
