After Violet was interviewed, she went to Mireya.
Only then did she learn that Mireya and Eli were planning on making Anika marry an old man for 50 million dollars.
Joshua remained silent for a long time. Then Violet tried to make things worse.
She said, "Mireya said that Anika wanted 50 million dollars. I never thought she would be
such a woman...
"She also said that you and Anika haven't passed your cooling-off period yet, so she and that old man cannot get married now. They're going to have a wedding ceremony first."

Little did Anika know that Mireya and Eli were still insisting on planning a wedding for her. They didn't take what she said seriously.
Mireya was confident that Anika dared not die and would not die.
It was because Anika suffered too much from childhood, but she never chose to leave.
Mireya was confident that Anika wouldn't act differently this time.
Meanwhile, Eli had already asked Duncan to transfer the
50 million dollars over and had begun to establish his new company. He didn't feel guilty or
indebted to Anika at all.
Until that day,Anika received Mireya's text. Mireya texted," Mr.Morrison has picked the day.It
is the 15th of this month."
"It's four days away.Get ready to get married. You have to cling to your husband's heart this
time,remember?"
Anika looked at the two texts, not knowing how she felt.

Maybe that day is a day of reunion and rejoicing.
It's also the day that Joshua and I agreed to get a divorce.
That is also the day I am about to be forced to marry another man.
And it's the day I've decided to leave for good."
Anika was afraid she would forget again, so she wrote these things down in a notebook.
She wrote all of them down.
Then she started to write her suicide note.
She picked up the pen, but she didn't know what to write.
Finally, she left a note for Clare in the notebook, and a note for Trent as well.
When she had finished writing it, she put it under her pillow.
Three days later.
On the 14th, the rain was particularly heavy.
Her phone was on the coffee table,ringing constantly.
Mireya had been calling her, asking about her whereabouts.
Anika was supposed to get married tomorrow. Mireya wanted her to go home and get
ready to marry into the Morrison family.
Anika did not reply. She changed into a brand new begonia-colored dress today and put on delicate makeup for herself.
In fact, she was pretty. It was just that she was too skinny and pale.
Anika looked at her delicate and bright self in the mirror,feeling as if she had gone back to
the time before she married Joshua.
She took a taxi to the cemetery.
She stepped out of the taxi, carrying an umbrella,walked slowly to her father's
gravestone, and laid down a bunch of white daisies.

"Dad."
The cold wind whistled, and only the tinkling of raindrops on her umbrella could be heard.
"I'm sorry...I didn't want to come here, but I have nowhere else to go.
"I admit that I am timid.I'm afraid to leave alone, so I choose to come to you...
"If you want to scold me,go ahead."
Anika finished gently, sat next to the tombstone, and put her arms around herself.
She took out her phone and saw vicious texts from Mireya.
"Anika!Do you think you can walk away forever?"
"Eli has already taken the money from Mr.Morrison. Mr.
Morrison is so powerful. Do you think he'll let you off the hook?"
"Think thoroughly. It would be better for you to marry him tomorrow in a proper way than to
be found and tied down.
"If you know better..."
Anika silently read the texts.
Then she typed and replied, "I don't want to go back.
Come to the west suburbs to pick me up tomorrow. I will wait for you in front of Dad's
tombstone."
When Mireya received Anika's reply, Mireya didn't think much. She figured that Anika had thought it through and finally stopped calling Anika.
Anika enjoyed a moment of peace.
She sat here for the entire day.
After the night arrived, she took out the small puppet that her father had carved for her
when she was a child, and carefully held it in her arms, protecting it from the dark night and the sweeping rain with her body.

Time flew. In the distance from her,the clock announcing the arrival of the twelve o'clock
The 15th arrived.
Anika looked up at the endless dark sky,her throat filled with bitterness.
It was 3:00 a.m.
With trembling hands, she took the pills out of her bag...
At the same time, Joshua was at Rafter Villa.
After he came back, he sat on the sofa in the living room.
He didn't turn on the light.
He was so tired that he pressed his temples. After a short nap, he was awakened.
It was so strange.
He had another nightmare which was about Anika again.
He dreamed of her death, and it was so real...
Joshua took out his phone.It was only four in the morning.
He realized that today was the end of the cooling-off period. He and Anika agreed to get a divorce together today.
Out of control, he sent Anika a text, saying, "Don't forget that we're getting a divorce today."
When Anika received his message, she could no longer think straight. She forced herself to reply to him with a voice message.
"I'm sorry...But I don't think I can make it.
"Yet don't worry.I promise that we'll divorce...
She thought, "With me being dead, of course, our marriage will no longer be valid."
Listening to Anika's voice message, Joshua felt strangely relieved.

He was always concise and comprehensive He usually texted her and rarely called her
Anika pressed the button to pick up the call. She had not opened her mouth before hearing
Joshua's cold words.
"Anika,I have limited patience. You were the one who said you wanted to divorce me Right? "Are you regretting it now because I didn't give you money?
"You're about to marry someone else.I don't suppose 50million dollars will be enough for
you right?
Anika felt a lump in her throat.
All of a sudden, she could hear nothing.
She was already at the end of her life, so she didn't want to admit to something she didn't
do. She spoke into the phone with the last of her strength.
*Joshua...I never married you for your money!
"And money isn't the reason I want a divorce from you now either...
"You may not believe this, but I still want to tell you...I didn't know about my mother and
brother breaking the contract back then...

Joshua could hear the loud wind and rain from the other end of the line.

Anika couldn't hear his voice. She simply clutched her phone tightly and explained over and

From her words, Joshua recognized her strong unwillingness accumulated over the years.
And he could tell how much she regretted marrying him.
He felt as if his throat was suddenly clogged with cotton, making it impossible for him to
breathe.
"What right do you have to regret?Weren't you the one who cried to marry me?"Joshua's
