Chapter 14
Audrey yawned widely after finishing all her work for the day. She got up after tidying up some of her tools, then looked down at the water in her glass.
Rising from her seat, Audrey walked towards the door of the room and looked at the clock. It was already early morning and she had just finished all the work for now. Alfan had gone to bed a few hours ago leaving Audrey there to quietly work on her assignment to be collected tomorrow morning without any problems and tomorrow morning she would get a new assignment to do the same.
"Why don't you use the gold I gave you but instead torture yourself by working this late?"
Just as she was about to fill her water glass, Audrey was startled to hear a voice from beside her and when she turned her head she found Aldrick there already standing with his flat gaze.
Audrey sighed heavily, then looked at his face without feeling guilty. "People can ask me where that gold came from, if I brought those decorative words here people would ask where I got such a nugget of gold. Do you want me to be reported to prison for finding such things?" she asked without worrying at all about Aldrick's response.
The man sighed softly and approached Audrey who was already looking at her almost full glass.
"Couldn't you just break the gold into pieces and sell them little by little?"
"It's not that easy, if I sell too often people will get suspicious. This isn't the wolf world so I can't just do things like we do in the wolf world."
"If it's that difficult why do you have to survive here?" asked Aldrick with an annoyed face. "Pack your things, let's go to the palace."
Audrey looked at him expressionlessly. "I don't want to go back there, for what? To repeat what I felt back then? Seeing you doing evil to me again? Letting you use me as a shield for your own benefit? I'm no longer as stupid as I used to be to sacrifice myself. In the past maybe I would have sacrificed myself but not anymore because I have to think about Alfan's life, at least he should have a better future than me who can't do whatever I want because of clan rules," Audrey said then raised her glass and looked at Aldrick's face who had sighed deeply.
"Tell me what can I do to earn your forgiveness?"
"Nothing," she replied casually making Aldrick stare at her incapacitated. "Maybe you just need to go far away from our lives and then I will forget you slowly. With me forgetting you like that then I will forgive you too because I have forgotten. There's no need to apologize because that's not the attitude of an Alpha, I don't want to talk much anymore about that incident. Because I want to blame you one-sidedly is also not my ability. I don't like to blame anyone because I prefer to live a peaceful life without any interference from anyone."
Aldrick looked at Audrey's face who was already smiling softly.
"You can get married again, Alpha, no need to wait for me. You can have as much fun as you like without being tormented by me staying away from you. My staying away from you has also been a decision I made just for the good of both of us. You don't have to be with an eternal partner to be happy, you can find concubines or people who might be more than happy to serve you well. You have the power, you have the ability and wealth to do whatever you want. It's strange that you keep expecting me when you can get something else and better than me. Isn't there something you're hiding that's why you keep approaching me like this?" Audrey looked at Aldrick quizzically while the man was already silent in his place. From the man's silence, Audrey seemed to know that what she was saying was true. This man must want something from her that's why he always comes and interrupts.
"Tell me what do you really want from me that's why you always come here? It's too impossible that you suddenly came just because Emily betrayed you and you're sorry for treating me well all this time. You must want something, right? Does your clan need the medicines I used to concoct for the soldiers? Or something like that? You can tell me, I'll try to give you whatever you want as long as you don't come here again and keep bothering us."
Aldrick shook his head, he couldn't possibly say what he wanted. Although indeed his recovery lay with this woman but he could not possibly ask for it without getting a sincere apology. Although his mistake was indeed quite big and made a big enough wound in Audrey's heart as well, he could not carelessly just ask for her healing. Because he knew in this concept he had to be truly sincere to be able to regain his strength as before.
"I don't want to ask you for anything, I came looking for you guys too not because there is something I want. You're just too tired, you should rest. I'll be in this house until tomorrow, we'll talk again tomorrow when you're thinking better." Audrey looked at the man but then she looked away and walked away. Until now she had no intention of getting back into a better relationship with Aldrick because she knew that she couldn't if she wanted to get back together with him. Her aching heart hasn't healed yet, her life that had fallen apart and seemed to be restarted is still just beginning. Plus Audrey still feels the residual physical wounds from the events experienced. She couldn't possibly make herself miserable just to make that man happy.
While Audrey walked away, Aldrick watched her with a sad look. Her purpose was strange if she came here and it was not wrong for Audrey to think that she wanted something to come from doing good to them.

Audrey naturally thought that she came because she had been betrayed by Emily. Because in this concept it seems that Aldrick also wouldn't care about Audrey leaving or dying while he was still with that woman. Maybe right now he also doesn't know that he already has a son. Maybe right now he is also still having fun in his clan without caring about anything. Emily who betrayed her is why she is here, it is not wrong that Audrey still does not want to accept and continues to blame her because she does not deserve to be forgiven in this case.
"How am I supposed to get forgiveness from you, when you can even afford to live without me in this human world. I don't know how I should survive in the future. But seeing you being happy and not lacking anything makes me know that you and I don't even need to do something that will only make it difficult for you. You find it hard to live with me so you deliberately reject me again and again so I too can only watch and wait for you from afar without imposing my will." Aldrick walked towards the sofa in the living room and he intended to rest there tonight. From beginning to end only he himself repeatedly came to this human world because only he had the way. To be able to penetrate this place required quite a bit of energy and the energy he had generated the past few days while meditating and resting himself, he spent just to be able to come here to see Audrey and Alfan whom he could not see only from thought.
"I can only make sure you live alone with Alfan and that no other man will come near you. With that, it will be better because we should not marry each other. Because until now I also won't let you be touched by another man because you are still my wife. I will never let you fall into the arms of any man because those are forbidden things." Aldrick smiled, giving his body and actually being hindered because it did not take him long because his body had already begun to recognize the habits of the people in this world.
The human world, the vampire world, the witch world and the wolf world never had anything in common. Everyone was different and that was also what made him have to think about some small things that must have a connection with each area he went to. Only then would she be able to get things done without much thought.
In addition, he also does not need to make mistakes just because he does not understand the culture or things that people around him use or do. There were a lot of rules but the safest one was the wolf world, there were not really any restrictions in it as long as it was officially a person who came and stopped by as a tourist or did something that was ordered.
The night was fairly quiet and there was nothing to disturb them. In the morning Aldrick woke up first and was already hiding because right now he didn't want to be found by anyone first. Including Alfan who still didn't like him, if he got too close then there would only be problems and arguments with his son.
He didn't want to establish bad communication and relationships with the little man. After all, they were related by blood and the little man was his son. His attitude, which was indeed a bit grumpy and a little authoritarian, made him know that Alfan had almost 100% inherited his attitude which was full of leadership aura.
"Mommy, why did you take so long to wake up? I still have school today so I'll leave after the bus comes. Luckily I took a shower downstairs first so after getting dressed I came here. Mommy... I want to bring lunch because the food in the cafeteria is not that good, Mommy wants to cook food for me, right?"
"Of course, what do you want to eat, let Mommy make it?"
"Anything Mommy, I'll eat everything Mommy cooks as long as there's meat."
Aldrick could hear the conversation as he removed himself from their sight. His son was a pure Wolf, he couldn't eat anything without meat and he always needed meat in his life. Alfan just didn't know that he was a Werewolf, if he did it would be even more difficult.
"You gave up a lot to make things go so well for him, Audrey. I know that you must be the one surrounding her with all your power. There are many things you sacrificed in this life and only for us did you do all that. Why am I only now seeing your sincerity? Where have I been all this time? Why have I never seen and tried to care for you?"
Aldrick sighed and fell silent, it was only fitting that Tommy and all his Werewolf warriors favored Audrey over Emily because this woman was clearly the one who sacrificed and was willing to give everything she had for peace. Meanwhile Emily was just someone who came and did something without having a positive impact on them. The girl had nothing interesting to brag about, making the men and citizens dislike her because she came as a bully.
Audrey and Alfan were still in the kitchen preparing food and Audrey also prepared lunch for her son. Until the school bus came and picked up Alfan and his son had to go to school because it was almost time. "Come out."
Aldrick fell silent at the sound of Audrey's voice, which suddenly seemed to be interrogating him.
"I know you're still in my house, Alpha. You don't need to hide, I've prepared food for you so you can eat it. I'll continue working because I have a new task to do."
