Cupid's Arrow hit me hard!

Chapter 2709

At Fisher Manor, Belinda was hosting a banquet and had invited Liberty over.

The manor's employees had been busy since afternoon.

Many family members had come over to help out as well. As it was supposed to be a family banquet, only the Fishers would be attending it. Everyone who had some sort of status in the family was allowed to attend whereas those with lower ranks or were distant relatives were not allowed to attend.

Many of the Fishers were unsatisfied. Since it was a family banquet, everyone in the family should have been invited.

Even if they were distant relatives, they still bore the Fisher surname and were part of the family.

Why could they not attend a family banquet?

Their dissatisfaction with Belinda grew.

Nevertheless, they dared not voice out their unhappiness for fear of Belinda's revenge upon her discovery.

She treated the lower-ranked family members worse than she would a stranger. Therefore, many of them missed Tiara, who used to view everyone as equal. There was no clear division of ranks during her time.

Everyone was allowed to attend a family banquet.

Although Tiara and Belinda were sisters by blood, their personalities and working styles were miles apart.

There were rumors that Tiara's daughters had been found.

Some people were discussing that the Fisher family was about to undergo a major change.

The main house was filled with guests. Of course, they were the ones who held higher ranks in the family.

Their conversations with Belinda were filled with nothing but flattery.

"Why isn't Mr. Clark here, Madam Fisher?" someone asked casually.

He only voiced that question because he had not spotted Hunter since his arrival.

Once the words were out of his mouth, everyone looked toward him.

The stares made the man realize that there was something he did not know.

He had just returned to Jensburg that morning after going on a business trip that lasted half a month. Upon his return, his parents told him about the family banquet and that he was invited. Therefore, he had traveled to Fisher Manor excitedly.

The man got along with Hunter. He only asked because he had not seen Hunter in a long time.

Belinda said calmly, "Hunter is feeling unwell. He's resting in the room and is unable to meet any guests."

Hunter did not dare to meet anyone after receiving Belinda's beating.

His wounds had already healed, he just felt too embarrassed to meet the Fishers.

Hunter was a live-in son-in-law who had to obey his wife's every command. In the past, Hunter and Belinda had a good relationship. The Fishers had treated him politely because she had shown him respect in front of them.

However, word that he was caught cheating on his wife and beaten up had spread to the entire Jensburg.

If Hunter had shown up in a place where the Fishers gathered, he would definitely be criticized.

No matter how shameless and optimistic he was, he could not bear the harsh comments raining down on him.

Therefore, he hid himself in the room and dared not go downstairs.

Belinda chose to let him be.

Although they were not divorced, there was an obvious crack in their relationship. They could never go back to how they were before.

Belinda could no longer lie to herself. Ultimately, her marriage was not a happy one like Tiara's.
