Cupid's Arrow hit me hard!

Chapter 2671

Meanwhile, in the presidential suite on the top floor of Fortress Hotel, Liberty and Hayden sat on the sofa in the living room while Kevin poured water for them and served them a fruit platter. "Liberty, how about staying with me? I live alone, the house is big, and there are many rooms. If you move in, we can also keep each other company."

Hayden invited Liberty to stay at her private villa.

While smiling, Liberty turned her head to look at her. "Hayden, if I move into your place, the tabloids here will report that you and Kevin have a relationship breakdown. They might even say that Kevin is delusional and that you prefer women."

Hayden choked for a moment.

She was still dressed as a man now. If Liberty stayed with her, it could easily lead to misunderstandings and cause unnecessary trouble.

Liberty had just arrived in Jensburg and it would not do her well to be gathering hate when her footing in Jensburg was still weak.

Hayden had too many admirers. Though they could not compete with Kevin, Liberty was an easier competition.

"Hayden, your relationship with Kevin is becoming more stable. When the right time comes, you can openly admit that you are a woman. This way, others won't keep raising the topic of same-sex relationships to you. It's clear that both of you are straight."

Hayden thought for a moment and said, "I don't need to explain anything to the outside world. If one day Kev and I get married, I will wear a wedding gown and everyone will understand."

Liberty chuckled. "Maybe others will think you're cross-dressing, assuming you're the bottom."

Hayden was silent for a moment.

"I usually don't meddle in others' marriages or divorces. I had a messy marriage and divorced after a big fight. When he abused me, I chased him with a kitchen knife down the street, beating him until his face was bruised and his nose swollen.

"Sometimes I think, I don't know what marriage brings to us women. Marrying into the man's family, working and managing a home together, giving birth, and raising children for him. Needing to take care of the in-laws and still not being understood, even being called useless and only knowing how to spend money and whatnot.

"But, there are still good men in this world. I can't speak for other men, but Kevin is quite good. Their family has a good upbringing, and that produces good sons."

Hayden said, "Liberty, I understand and know about what happened before. Don't dwell on it. Let's move forward. You and Mr. Lewis are doing well now. Mr. Lewis is very good to Sonny. I think Sonny might even be closer to Mr. Lewis than to his biological father."

Being reminded of the burly man whom she had a small falling out with before she flew to Jensburg, Liberty's eyes twinkled with a smile. "He is indeed great. He mentioned that it was because of Sonny that his attention toward me grew."

Liberty and Duncan were fortunate to have Sonny.

Sonny felt like he had found himself a stepfather.

"Liberty, you have my phone number, right? If you need any help in Jensburg, feel free to call me."

"I do, Seren shared with me."

Liberty smiled. "Don't worry, Hayden. I won't be shy. If I need help, I'll definitely bother you."

Kevin came over with two glasses of water, placed them down, and returned with two plates of sliced fruits before taking a seat beside Hayden.

"Liberty, have some fruits."

"Thank you."

Liberty thanked him but did not eat the fruit and only took a few sips of the water served.

Her phone occasionally rang, indicating new messages.

Without a doubt, they were from Duncan.

Setting down the glass, Liberty announced, "Hayden, you seem busy. How about you continue your work, and I'll rest in my room for a while? I'll treat you to breakfast tomorrow." "You've come all this way, how can I let you? I'll host. Tomorrow morning, I'll come over and we'll have breakfast together."

After a moment's thought, Hayden changed her mind and said, "Why don't we have it at my place? It's Sunday tomorrow, I'm off. I can make breakfast, and you can taste my cooking."

She had a heavy workload. When Kevin was not disrupting her life, she was a workaholic, often working overtime on Saturdays and only allowing herself to rest on Sundays.

"With me around, you shouldn't be cooking. I'll come over to help. Maybe your cooking won't be that tasty, but what I make will definitely be delicious."
