Corey said, "Sonny, would you like to go out and play with me for a while? Dunc needs to discuss something with Zack and Seren." Sonny nodded understandingly.

Corey wiped her tears and said, "Zack, Seren, I apologize for any trouble."

Serenity was not sure how to respond.

Zachary replied, "Mrs. Lewis, we'll talk to Duncan. Don't worry, we'll make sure he goes to work as usual the day after tomorrow."

Tomorrow is Sunday, a day off.

Corey responded, "Zack, I've troubled you again."

"Not at all. Duncan and I are good friends, his matters are mine as well."

Corey expressed her thanks once again.

Fortunately, her son had good friends like Zachary and Josh. With the caring assistance of such good mates during difficult times, he was slowly regaining his confidence.

"Sonny, let's go. I'll take you out to play. What would you like to do? I'll accompany you."

Corey held Sonny's little hand and asked him as they walked.

"Grandma Lewis, do you have kites at home? I want to fly a kite, the wind is strong today."

Corey smiled, "Let me check. There should be kites from when my grandkids were young. They might be in their playroom. Shall we check it out?"

"Okay. Will they be upset? We're taking their things without asking."

Corey hesitated for a moment and then smiled, "Let's have someone ask them first. We'll only take the kite out to play once they agree."

This child had been raised very well.

No wonder her son liked the little guy so much.

Duncan said that he had never even considered pursuing Liberty at first because when they met, she had not divorced yet. He simply enjoyed Sonny's company. It was only after spending more time together that he gradually developed feelings for Liberty.

Corey also noticed Liberty's transformation.

She knew that Liberty's hard work was not just about being strong for Serenity but also about being a good match for Duncan, trying to make herself stand proudly next to him. Reflecting on the things she had done in the past, Corey sighed in silence.

If Duncan had not been in the car accident, she would have still found it hard to accept Liberty. Although her son was a bit older, it would have been his first marriage, while it would have been Liberty's second. Besides, the Lewis family was not poor. Even if Duncan were to turn fifty, there would still be plenty of young women wanting to marry him.

Corey did not think there was anything wrong with her thoughts. Regardless of whether it was an affluent family or an ordinary one, it would be challenging for parents to accept their son marrying a divorcee. However, Corey had come to terms with it.

Her children should be allowed to pursue their happiness.

She did not want to continue worrying about that too. Duncan was turning thirty-seven. He was no longer a little boy. He knew what was best for him, and he would not make decisions that he knew he would regret.

After getting to know Liberty and spending time with her, Corey realized that despite having married and given birth once, Liberty was a good person.

If her son liked her, then so be it.

Marrying a divorced woman was better than staying single for the rest of his life.

Corey hoped that Duncan would recover soon. Then he could marry Liberty, and if she was lucky, maybe she would have another grandchild.
