Cupid's Arrow hit me hard!

Chapter 2588

Zoey had a habit of nagging Dave for he had ruined their daughter-a twenty-four-year-old young lady, who had never been in a relationship and could not get along with the men they set up for her. Zoey complained that Quinn treated those men as buddies.

Why buddies? Why could they not become lovers?

Every time Zoey nagged, Dave would tease her, suggesting they should take good care of their health and have another daughter. Then, they could raise the younger one as a proper lady, which always makes Zoey blush. She would seize him and tickle him.

They were old enough to be grandparents, how could they still have babies?

If they wanted to, they could have done it when they were younger.

"Time for dinner. It's late and you're making Julian drink tea, it affects sleep. The same goes for you, don't stay up late chattering when you can't sleep later," reprimanded Zoey as she carried the dishes out of the kitchen.

Dave chuckled, "Julian came from afar, he's our guest. It's only hospitality for us to offer him tea. Julian, let's go, let's dig in. Quinn, go and get a bottle of fine wine for your dad from the cabinet. "Dad and Julian get along well, so tonight we are having a glass or two."

Quinn looked at her mother and asked, "Mom, is it okay if I have a couple of drinks too?"

Zoey gave Quinn a stern look and said, "You can take a few sips, but don't drink too much. With your tolerance and temperament, having a few sips would be enough for you to embarrass yourself." A few sips were better than none.

Quinn happily retrieved a bottle of fine wine from her father's collection while her brother had gotten the glasses ready.

With Julian around, the alcohol enthusiasts get to savor the wine, satiating their cravings. They dared not overdrink, especially with Zoey keeping an eye on them.

"Mom, Will suggested that we host Julian during his business trip and cancel his hotel reservation," Quinn said while eating.

After exchanging glances with her husband, she said, "Our home has spare rooms. If you don't mind our humble abode, you can stay here and cancel the hotel reservation, Julian."

Julian quickly replied, "I don't mind, Mrs. Crawford. Plus, I don't think your place is plain. It's really cozy. Even if this were my first time here, it already felt like home. It's so comfortable and relaxing here." Zoey smiled and said, "Since you don't mind, you can stay however long you like. When you come for business trips in the future, just stay at our place, there's no need for you to look for hotels anymore." "Thank you for the hospitality, Mrs. Crawford."

Dave pursed his lips, thinking to himself, 'As expected of a seasoned businessman, he sure knows how to butter people up.'

If the lady of the house had no objections and welcomed Julian with open arms, who was Dave to say otherwise?

"Mom, we might need to prepare another guest room. Julian's parents are coming to visit in a few days to thank me for saving Julian. I told them that it was a small matter, but they insisted on thanking me in person."

Quinn brought it up in advance, lest her parents were caught off guard by the sudden visit.

Zoey was taken aback for a moment. She turned to Julian and said, "Julian, this is really not a big deal for us. Plus, you've already repaid your gratitude to Quinn. Tell your parents that they don't have to come all the way here to express their gratitude."

"Mrs. Crawford, if Quinn had not come for my rescue that night, I would surely have been abducted by those people. Although I know some moves, I had a close call that night. There were too many assailants. Since Quinn saved my life, my entire family is now indebted to Quinn, and my parents intend to express their gratitude toward her."
