Chapter 2585
Julian smiled and said, "You're welcome to visit me anytime.
"Oh, by the way, I sent two large boxes to you by courier. Have you received them? I tracked the shipment, they should be arriving today."
Julian had purchased a variety of specialty products from Wiltspoon, as well as some supplements for middle-aged and elderly people. He had them all shipped to Summervale, with Quinn as the recipient. After all, Quinn was his destined girl, and he wanted to make a good impression on her family.
Having come all the way here, Julian felt that he could not arrive empty-handed.
Quinn replied, "I'm not sure about that. I came to the airport to fetch you this afternoon, and if there was a delivery, it would be sent to my house. My mom is usually at home, and she'd help me receive them. Julian, what did you buy for me? You don't have to spend so much."
"It's just some specialty products from Wiltspoon. Last time when you left in a hurry, I didn't prepare much for you. This time, I bought a bit more and had them delivered two days in advance so they would arrive when I did.
"My parents know that you saved my life, and I didn't properly thank you. They scolded me, saying I didn't know how to be grateful, and warned me that if I ever faced danger again, no one would help me. They said I should repay kindness a hundredfold.
"Quinn, I'm not an ingrate."
Quinn chuckled. "Julian, you're not a bad person. You've expressed your gratitude. Last time when I took the kids to the competition, you treated us to food and drinks, took us out to play, and didn't let us spend a dime. You even took me to attend Mr. York and Serenity's wedding. These were all your ways of showing gratitude."
"Still, it's not enough. Returning a favor would involve something much greater, such as offering himself in return."
"Mr. and Mrs. Bucham are too kind."
Quinn had met Julian's parents, and she was deeply impressed by the warm and kind-hearted couple. She had a great liking for them.
They had great manners. When Mrs. Bucham held her hand and smiled warmly at her, Quinn felt as if Mrs. Bucham treated her like a daughter.
Julian mentioned that he did not have a sister, only cousins. Perhaps it was because he did not have any sisters, his mother could not help but treat girls like her own daughters whenever she saw them. He advised Quinn to get accustomed to his mother's behavior.
"My parents mentioned that they wanted to visit your parents later. I suppose they'll come over soon.
"I'm their most beloved son, and you saved me. You're my lifesaver, and my entire family is indebted to you. My parents' enthusiastic reception toward you is a natural reaction. If someone saved my son's life, I too would kneel to thank that person."
Quinn was shocked. "They're coming over? They shouldn't have, it was just a small effort on my part.
She had an extremely positive impression of Julian's parents, finding them very amiable and kind. However, she could not bear the idea of them kneeling down to her.
"Julian, tell your parents that they absolutely shouldn't kneel to me, I can't bear that. You've already thanked me countless times, done a lot in return, and even sent so many local specialties to me now. It's more than enough."
Julian replied, "This is my parents' gesture, I can't control what they intend to do. When they do come over later, just look after them and prevent them from kneeling."
"I will. In fact, I'll have my entire family keep an eye out. If they show as much as a hint of wanting to kneel, I'd quickly stop them. They are my elders, I can't bear them kneeling to me, I really can't. Plus, I genuinely think that what I've done is just a small matter."
However, the Bucham family insisted on treating her as a lifesaver.
With Julian's physique and skills, even if she had not assisted, he would not have been abducted. In the worst case, he would just run away from the goons.
The two chatted throughout the journey, and despite the one-hour-plus drive, Julian felt it went by in a flash.
