Chapter 2553
"My dad wrote a will before he passed away. The assets he possessed before his marriage were meant for me. Your mom exploited my young age and took what's mine. She has already taken her share of the joint assets."
Camryn was only two years old when Abel died. However, many witnesses were around when he wrote the will and they wondered why he made one at such a young age. Aunt Evelyn said it was because he loved his daughter very dearly.
Therefore, he named her the heir to all his personal assets and half of the joint assets.
Camryn's grandparents bought the villa for Abel. Hence, it was considered a personal asset to be passed down to her.
The same applied to Newman Enterprise's shares.
Although the Newman family was not as wealthy before, they were not exactly poor either.
The value of the assets Abel left for Camryn had increased significantly.
Carrie was in disbelief after listening to Camryn's retort.
Did the house they had been living in all along belong to Camryn?
Her parents never mentioned it.
Was such a huge villa solely Camryn's?
After some time, Carrie gathered her senses and said, "Impossible. I was born and raised here. This is my home. When did it become yours? You're lying. You're making up a lie to take my house."
"You have access to your parents's room, right? The title deed is locked inside a safe in your parents's room. You'll know once you open the safe and look at it."
Camryn knew her dad had a will, but she did not have the title deed.
Aunt Evelyn mentioned that she was only two years old at that time. Although Abel had already transferred the ownership of the house to her, the title deed was withheld by Paige due to Camryn's young age. Camryn had never seen the title deed because she was blind before.
Despite being able to see again, she could not enter Mr. and Mrs. Newman's room as she did not know the password to the locked door.
Callum had suggested hiring someone to tear down the door.
Camryn wanted to ask Trenton about it when he returned. They would only resort to dismantling the door if he did not know the password.
Since Carrie got out of prison early, Camryn could get her to open the door and clear all their stuff out. The house would belong to her and Trenton only in the future.
Of course, she would not mind if Trenton was unwilling to live with her.
Once Trenton graduated, Camryn would give him his portion of the inheritance. He could do anything with it, be it buying a house and a car or using it for investments. She would not meddle in his decisions. "I do. Let me in, and I'll unlock their room. I want to see whose name is printed on the title deed."
Even if she could unlock the door, Camryn could not see the name on the title deed because she was blind. Camryn would not even know if Carrie lied that the names on it were Paige and Abel's. Carrie's parents would not have been able to harm Camryn's father if he had foresight.
He knew his marriage was forced and that he would only have one daughter. He left all his assets to his only daughter out of love for her.
His actions allowed Camryn to own a portion of the inheritance, which she could claim after becoming an adult.
Camryn said calmly, "I'll make sure you're convinced."
