Chapter 8: core
“And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied on earth, that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. The children of heaven saw and lusted after them and said to one another, “come, lets us choose us wives from the children of men and beget us, children.” Semjaza who was their leader said unto them. “I fear ye will not indeed agree to this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.” and they all answered him and said, “let us all swear an oath and bind ourselves by mutual imprecation not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.” Then they swore and they altogether bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. They were in all two hundred who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.
’The children of God came upon the daughters of men and they bore offspring’s, mighty men of old and renown, they were called the Nephilim,”
It was something I picked up from a blog from the book of Enoch by R.H Charles(1917) when I googled descendants of angels, there were other theories too relating to their origin which I’m guessing might have been based speculations.
Since the discovery of modern Archaeology physical remains and skeletons of giants claimed to be the Nephilim or part their lineages had been discovered and excavated in most countries of the world, carbon-dating as far back as 2304bc placed at the same time as the great flood.
Some of this skeletons like the one found in 1613A.D were 14-16ft tall and I mean like literally. I’m guessing they might have been the so-called Titan’s Greek mythology talked about.
Other Speculations too suggests, they were the ones that built the Stonehenge and the great pyramid which it’s architecture was still a marvel to modern science.
in another text I came across it explained saying that the children of the Nephilim were called the Eliouds and they shared the same fate. The same text stated the fallen Angels who begat the Nephilim were cast into Tartarus and so God granted ten percent of the disembodied spirit of the Nephilim to remain after the flood. Which probably was a logical explanation on how they survived and started living in clans related to the same thing raven said earlier and this must have been during the time of her ancestors.
*Emims( the fearful ones)
* Rephaim( the dead ones)
* Anakim( the long-necked one’s )
The earliest of such references seemed to be in the Dead Sea scrolls, the Greek, Aramaic and Enochic literature and certain Ge’ez manuscript used by western scholars.
Believe me, if I hadn’t met raven and somehow I came across this blog even with the text references and all, I would have dismissed it as fictional nonsense.
At first, When the result came out at the beginning of the search, there was a lot to sift through starting from the movies and TV series to video games, Gothic cosmetic companies, and underground metal. I thought about this research I was doing as ridiculous, i almost died of embarrassment when I found myself in the realm of science fiction reading through a hypothesis of the abilities that they possessed.
*Extrasensory perception,
* semi immortality( becoming resistant to sickness and other deadly condition)
*high physical and mental state that surpasses mortal beings ( giving them control of their bodies physical conditions.)
* psionic manipulation of structures at a molecular level (telekinesis )
*Elemental and Energy Manipulation.
(Pyrokenises and teleportation)
In the early stages of their life circle,
Then at the early adult stage (from16.)
* gain a body composed of pure semi-solid ether.
* Posses an incredible psychic perception (telepathy)
*invulnerability –(immunity to nearly all forms of harm)
* Regeneration
*shapeshifting
*healing
*illusion manipulation
* flight
* Superhuman speed.
(Transcendent stage )after a thousand years. If any gets to live that long.
* Ethereal body
* higher consciousness
I knew some of this might be absolutely loads of crap! but I had to admit whoever wrote this was somehow surprisingly a bit right on track based on what I have seen myself, I scrolled to down to the end, I saw a part that also suggested that some might have had wings and the only thing they were vulnerable for those at the immortal stage was an angels blade, actually it think it the idea was used in a TV-series. I frustratingly shut down my computer and went to bed.
My stupid Alarm buzzed my ear loudly, I got irritated and shoved it off the edge of the bed while lying down. I didn’t hear much of any shattering sound when it fell which means it got lucky to still be in one piece, apart from the batteries that were really good at ejecting themselves. I took a deep breath opening my eyes, it was the same morning as yesterday and the day before that, nothing special, I remember dinner last night with the Lansdale’s the uneasiness that followed, trouble might be coming for me very soon, not that it wasn’t old news to me anyway cause I have been aware of it for a while.
I thought of my today and how colorful it would have been if raven had said yes on my request, her declination was kind of a firm one, even if i called her and asked her again her answer probably will be the same thing, so I’ll be indoors for a while and in mid day I’ll call Allan and we’ll meet at the local bar around where most mates usually exhaust their weekends or at the bowling alley couple of miles from here, do something fun for a change to get my mind off a lot of things. I perceived the glorious aroma of fresh Bacon’s from the kitchen downstairs, Judy was already up working her magic, I felt my stomach rumble inside and I was famished.
“God bless you, Judy,” I muttered before heading into the bathroom,
After cleaning up I walked down to the dining room,
. “Ah! Honey, you’re up, come sit I made breakfast.” Judy said with a plate of slices of bacon and eggs placing it table for me.
“Morning Judy,“I greeted pulling up a chair to sit.
“Morning dear, how’s your night?”
“great thanks,” I replied pouring myself of orange juice from the jar.
" the bacon smells nice, you make great Bacon’s. ”
“I know,” she smiled.
“You know we haven’t really gotten a chance to sit down and talk much, I noticed you came home late last night and you’ve been quite preoccupied ever since you took your brace off, I know it’s been all school, so how are you doing honey?”
“Uhmmm, I’m good. It’s just I had a lot to do in school catching up and stuff, the classes I missed when I was unconscious, plus preparing for the test that we had two weeks ago. but I think I finally balanced all of that this week,” I explained. It was easier telling her half the story.
“So where’s Frank isn’t he awake?”
“It’s almost Ten o’clock honey, Frank always leaves for the shop by Seven remember,” she answered pulling the chair opposite mine with her breakfast, I filled up her glass.
“Oh! I didn’t realize and I must have overslept,” I muttered, recalling I had reset my Alarm last night.
“Right, you know I have been meaning to ask you about that pretty blond girl that stopped by our house the other day to pick you up, who is she?” I paused for a sec.
“She’s a friend her name is Raven, why?” I replied stabling my voice, I knew this day would come.
“I know almost all the kid’s in town that goes to your school and their parents but I’m sure I haven’t seen her Face before anywhere, is she new in town like you?” Oh boy! How do explain that the pretty blond girl was Michael Lansdale’s daughter when She and Frank strongly advised I stayed away from them, I remember clearly what she said that day, “darkness stalks that family,” even though they were kind right, the Lansdale’s were indeed trouble.
“No, and there’s a reason for that, her family is a bit more private about themselves for now,” my phone buzzed, I received a message and when I looked to it up to my surprise it was raven.
“Haul your ass out here, I’m waiting outside your house.” Wow! that was unexpected, did she reconsidered my offer I laughed.
“I’m sorry Judy, I have to go there’s someone waiting for me outside.” I muffled stuffing the rest of my bacon in my mouth leaving my plate at the sink,
" is it her?” Judy asked.
“Yes,” I dashed out shutting the door behind me. Raven across the street in a tunic and jacket leaning back against a black classic Dodge charger with arms folded, she did her best to keep her face stern.
“Haul my ass out here! I got your text wasn’t there a simpler nicer way to tell me to come outside.” I said approaching her.
“No, I don’t do nice and I kind of preferred it that way,”
“Nice ride, I haven’t seen you with this before,”
“It was my grandmothers, its been idle for a while,” she replied.
“Wow, your grandma must be badass to roll in that, so you’re here means you reconsidered my offer, although I expected to be the one doing the pickup,” I said cockily.
" don’t flatter yourself, I wouldn’t be here if It wasn’t important, go in and get dressed we’re going on a road trip,” she said
“Hmmm, look at you barking orders Already, I like it.”
“Are you coming or not?” She asked tensely.
“I’ll get my jacket,” I smiled looks like I’ll be spending time with her today after all, I got back to my room, for a moment in my eyes my dad’s jacket seemed to be the only one that stood out in my wardrobe I grabbed my wallet and putting on the jacket it fit perfectly when I looked in the mirror, I frizzled my hair a bit before going back downstairs. I found Judy staring outside through the window in the sitting room and I’m guessing at Raven.
“My God Nate, that girl is a real looker,” Judy said in admiration.
“Yeah, I know,“I replied proudly, I was about leaving when she saw me.
" where are you going ?”
“probably just around, not far,” I answered though wasn’t sure.
" And you’re putting on your Dad’s jacket, are you going on a date with her?” Judy asked curiously.
“I don’t know yet,” I laughed
“but how do I look?”
“You look great, honey the jacket fits perfectly,” she puts her Hand on my shoulder.
“Have fun,” she pats me
“Thanks,”
“Wait, one last thing. What’s her family ’s name?” Judy asked the moment I reached for the knob, I felt my stomach knot by the question, there was no evading this, I had to answer.
“Lansdale, she’s Michael Lansdale’s daughter,” I answered hesitantly, she stunned silent for a sec, and I knew I had tensed the moment
“I’ll be back soon I promise,“I hurriedly rushed out.
“Nathan!” I heard her call I kept walking, I knew I’ll be facing questions when I get back, for now, I couldn’t think of what to say.
“That took you long enough,” she grumbled, I smiled ignoring her.
“ok, Just to be sure, where are we going anyway?” I asked getting in the front passenger seat, it was finely clothed with animal skin.
“there’s a park out of town, we need to get there,” she answered vaguely.
“for what?”
“I’ll tell you on the way,” she revived the engine, it kicked with a muscle noise roared to life, the insides looked new like its been barely used much still retaining that new car smell maybe it was the seats, we drove out. I was impressed she could even drive a stick, she puts on her grim face, who knows maybe someone got on her bad side this morning. We were first going sixty per hour on a freeway the moment we left town.
“You seem tense, what’s wrong?” She ignored me, her attention fixed on the road, the dial climbed to eighty when I looked again at the speedometer. The forest was like walls dashing past us.
“Come on Raven, spill it sharing will help make you feel better I assure you,” I said warmly.
“You really want to know huh!” she scoffed. She punched in again we’re nearing a hundred, now I got uncomfortable putting on my seat belt.
" very funny, i don’t usually say this, but hope you aware if we stir of course and we get wrapped around a tree trunk or into something else in front, you can probably just walk away because you’re super, but me won’t be doing much of going anywhere or even breathing at all,” I said in Alarm, She sighed, in relief, I saw the dial decelerate back to eighty then down a bit.
“I have a lot on my mind and I didn’t want to have to spend this day with you because I knew that’s what you’d want but circumstances have simply forced my hands.” She said regrettably.
I laughed. ” so because you don’t want to spend a day with me that’s why you’re trying to get me killed, that’s kind of twisted don’t you think,”
“I usually drive like this,” she replied defensively speeding up again.
“Alright, easy, calm down please,” I pleaded.
“where’s this place we’re going and why?′
“Percy quin state park, there’s something my Mom left, therefore, safekeeping once, we’re going to find it cause you’ll need it.” She answered.
“Well, if you told me earlier I would have brought a bag pack or something,”
“There’s one in the trunk,”
“you know going hiking is one of the five best ideas on going out on first dates,” I tried starting small talks I didn’t want us lapsing into silence.
" as much as you want this to be Nate, it’s not a date. It’s simple we get what we’re looking for, we come back that’s it.” She stated clearly.
" then How do you explain two different people who are clearly kind of attached to each other going in the same car to an agreed place,”
" oh really, you think I am attached to you now huh? I think you enjoy being said no to.” She grimaced.
" well if you won’t admit it to yourself, I will.”
She laughs faintly, her face still fixed on the road.
“you know what, I’m not having such a great day and I’m doing my best to concentrate on driving and not kill you but I might just change my mind if you keep insinuating on this on a date thing or whatever silly idea you’ve got stuck in your head, so I’ll make you a deal shut up and I won’t purposely pin this vehicle into the largest tree I can find.”
“Jeez!you can be so scary at times,” I replied baffled by the idea.
“Try me?” She smiled callously.
“Ok.” I smiled back, I knew her well to be unpredictable I wouldn’t want to push my luck,
“So the owner of this car your other grandmother where is she? Is she alive?” I asked trying to tune in the radio, I had to admit I was fascinated by this Maggie woman, an art collector that made away with over hundred million dollar painting then replacing with fake and also had a taste for American muscles.
“Why are you asking about her?”
“I don’t know, she seems like an interesting person to me to have driven this,” I answered,
“No one knows if she’s alive or not, she hasn’t been seen by anyone for over ten years, I was only seven when I last saw her, she came into town with this, she spent a week at our house and then she vanished,” Raven said quickly overtaking the food truck in front of us.
" have you Guy’s searched for her?”
“No, because she’s not missing, she intentionally cut off contact with everyone she knew, there’s was a time I hoped I would see her again at my mother’s funeral, she never came. Not a single call, letter or text to my dad her son.”
“That’s harsh,” I added.
“I’m sure she’s somewhere around the world right now basking herself in suntan on a beach unaware of our family ’s loss, we needed her then but she wasn’t there for anyone.” I sensed irritation in her tone.
“I’m sorry,” I said.
“No, it’s not much of a big deal,” she said calmly. I searched for a clear broadcast, I got one from the news they were politics something about Donald Trump, I skipped it to next channel, they played amnesia by 5seconds of summer, it was kind of popular, I sang along, not minding my voice was conflicting with theirs. I saw raven kind of smiling, listening while I sang. I knew my voice was funny, I wanted her to smile I like watching her smile, honest ones like this, they were rare.
“Oh, this song is great, I love it, don’t you?” she replied by turning off the radio.
“What your problem?”
“Your voice is horrible and its distracting.“She mocked. I ignored her turning back on, she quickly turned off again, we looked awkwardly at each other for a minute, I turned on again, she lets the radio play for few seconds then she turns it back off, I let it rest for another second turning it back on, she immediately off, it became our crazy silent idea of fun, we kept fiddling with the radio for minutes till we got bored with it and stopped although I got my way at the end the radio was on, Raven parked in front of a gas station after the long drive.
“I’ll get some gas,”
“Alright, I’ll go in and grab a few things at the supermarket,”
“Wait, I’ll be coming with you, first pop open that little cubbyhole in front you, Chris usually leaves some cash there,“I found the vehicle papers and other stuff when I opened the compartment then a rolled bundle of dollar notes slid out probably a more than thousand Bucks I handed to her, when my eyes quickly caught something else as I was about closing it I found a stash of pot in wrapped forms.
“Hmmm, see, you’re not as uptight as you seem.” I teased I slipped it out dangling it in her face.
“My God, I didn’t know there was something like that in there, put it away! ” She grabbed it away from me cautiously,
“I should have checked the car thoroughly before I brought it out, Chris and Adam took her to New Orleans last week they must have acquired it there somehow, those jerks.” She cursed under her breathe, quickly shoving in the left side of her chest. My jaw almost dropped!
“And you think hiding it in your bra is logically the safest place,” I said amusedly.
“Yes, even if maybe we get stopped and searched by cops which I highly doubt will happen, no hands will be wandering around there without me dislocating the entire arm.” She replied. Coming out to open the gas tank, then inserting the dispensing hose,
A minute later she takes it out hanging back to the tank before we walked into the supermarket together, I grabbed a basket she waited for me at the counter, I moved around the aisles, I picked up a pack of sausage rolls, chocolate muffins, bottles of water, lasagna sand wishes and sodas, I knew I would definitely get hungry, there’s no way I’m hiking without supplies.
in the fruit sections, I added a small pack of strawberries.
“Are you done?”
“Yep,“I dropped the basket on the counter, the sale guy taking record of the stuff, I glanced aimlessly till I spotted a cabinet stocked with bourbons and whiskey’s in sizes, it wouldn’t hurt to get one for the road I thought.
“And what’s that for?” Raven asked puzzled.
“It’s for me, for the road,” I smirked
“You know I’ll need to some id’s for that right,” the sale’s guy requested.
“Sure,” I always had a fake for stuff like this in my wallet, I got it out all I could find was my credit and some cash, then I’d was missing,
. ” sorry, I’m sure it’s here, I usually have it here,” I said, awkwardly about to rip search my wallet.
“I can’t sell it to you if you don’t have it,” he stated clearly.
“Here, use mine.” Surprisingly, Raven slips out a state-issued photo Id from her jeans handing it over to him in my aid. That was unexpected! and it looked pretty much more convincing than mine. He stares at it closely and then looking at raven once again confusedly.
" you sure don’t look 21,” he says to her.
“Thanks, but that state-issued It says otherwise.” She answered confidently.
He nodded bagging the everything giving her back I’d, she slips out some cash to give me,
“Don’t worry I have got it covered,”
she takes the packages to the car while I paid off the sale’s guy.
“Fake id’s, that was quite unexpected even for me, you’re a bad girl Raven, I always knew there’s more to you than meets the eye” I complimented her as I returned to the car.” And thanks for the rescue back there though.”
" let’s just go,” she shook her head disinterestedly.
We parked at the visitors center when we arrived at the Percy quins and paid before picking up the backpack at the trunk. I managed to fit all the stuff we bought inside. I did the heavy lifting while raven leads the way, there were other campers around with their Rv’s. we started the hike entering the nature trails going in deeper, it was quiet not crowded, the trails at the time were lonesome, it also seemed like she knew her way around and we weren’t just walking aimlessly I hoped.
" you seem like you know your way around,”
“I do, my Mom and I we came here a lot when I was little that was before we moved to California,”
“How little?” I asked.
“I was ten at the time,”
“Ten! That’s a very long time to be able to remember anything clearly,”
“I have a good memory,” she replied surely.
“Alright, so where right now are we headed directly?”
" there’s a cabin in the middle of this park, probably 30 minutes to an hour walk from here, that’s where we’ll find what we’re looking for.”
“And this Thing what’s is it anyway?”
“Something to protect yourself with when the time comes,” she said.
" a weapon?”
“Yes, you’ll need it, it’s not always possible for me to at your side 24/7, the council will be coming for us at any moment, now we know they want you alive, you can use it to your advantage except you plan on handing yourself over to them willingly.”
“I have a gun,” I stated. My thought traveled back The gun I got from Aaron’s house. I haven’t really checked in on it since I hid it in my wardrobe.
she laughed.
“Lead projectiles won’t do you any good, you’re a going up against supernatural’s, you can’t kill anyone of my kind with that.”
“How do you know? have you been shot before?” I asked curiously.
“I have had worse and in less than a minute I was fine, the little delay in my healing process that doesn’t make it instantaneous is because I’m part human, the people that will be coming for you will be immortal’s gun’s wouldn’t even make them flinch.”
" a perfect headshot maybe can also do the job,” I suggested.
" you play too much video games Except you have a gun that blows the head clean off, you do that you might just piss them off and they’ll kill you, besides they won’t just be standing around while you attempt that, ” speaking of headshot I only get that on Xbox, I haven’t even fired a live gun before.
“Are you willing to take your chances on something like that.”
“I guess not, ” I sighed.
“What I’m about to give is not some kind of super weapon, it only just gives you a better chance.”
We approached a plain grass field, I was getting kind of exhausted, we’ve been walking for over twenty minutes plus the backpack I was carrying.
Raven surveyed the area, the disappointed expression on her face.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“I don’t understand, the cabin is supposed to be right in the middle of this field facing us but there’s nothing,”
" are you sure we’re at the right place, I mean you said yourself it’s been a long time since you’ve been here,”
“I’m sure,” she replied firmly.
“Then it didn’t just up and vanish, maybe they must have demolished it, cause most parks usually don’t have cabins in them.”
She took a deep breath.
“let’s take a break here, I’m much exhausted as exhausted as you are.” She squats and then sits on the grass.
" who says I’m exhausted?” I chuckled.
" The air intake in your lungs has increased over the last five minutes same with your heart rate,”
" is there anything you don’t know and can’t do?”
“Gosh! I hate to think this entire trip was a waste, “Raven muttered.
she pulled the bag pack towards her, taking out the pack of sausage roll and whiskey, she uncorks it taking a mouthful sip then passing it on to me,
“I did some research last night on your kind you know, The descendants of angels, the Nephilim.”
She smiles,” and what did Google have to say?”
“a lot history and speculations about the origin of giants, Archaeological traces of their existence which kind of corroborated with what you first told me, and the powers of the Nephilim according to the site it explained you Guy’s are super invincible with a wide range of super power’s although some of them might have been fictional,”
" powers like what?”
“You know the usual, super strength, speed, telepathy, telekinesis, the teleportation thing you can do, and flight. Some of the others I can’t even recall,”
" hmmm, i guess they were right on some part, i might be stronger and agile than average but it doesn’t mean I can lift building’s with my hands or read mind’s and we don’t manifest all our abilities at once that’s what Google doesn’t tell you, there are general abilities and special ones ”
“So what are the general ones like?”
“The agility and strength based on our biology, then the senses and other lists of abilities that come from our minds, my dad often says Scientifically our divinity gives us more access to our cerebral capacity, we’re smarter than humans and we get more powerful with age,”
“What about that kid yesterday, your cousin I mean, your aunt said he’s fluent in many languages, is that a general ability too?”
“Yes, we call it omnilingualism, although it’s not an actual word, its process also goes on with age, the older you get, your understanding of languages broadens.”
“How does it actually work with you Guy’s,“I mumbled taking a bite, I got hungry.
“That part is a mystery to me also, I wake up one morning and I’m able to understand over a hundred languages once I come across them been spoke in the open. Me, I’m fluent in Four thousand six hundred and twelve to be exact.”
“that’s a lot,” I muttered
" you know when bass threatened to shove a cutlery down your throat before you could blink, he wasn’t kidding, bass is faster than any of us at that’s his special ability.”
“And yours?”
“My teleportation and my healing thing plus I have a deep connection with nature,”
“What of Adam I’m guessing he’s is with the telepathy thing and Chris the fire thing he does,”
“that’s also part of theirs, some abilities are more enhanced than others, like my dad and Adam they’re both telepaths but my dad needs to make contact before he can read minds although he’s also clairvoyant but Adam doesn’t need to, he’s Adams ability also makes gravity weaker around him,”
“He can fly? ”
“If he wants to, but he doesn’t enjoy it, it takes a lot of energy,”
“That’s just super cool either way,”
The coarse taste on my tongue, the burning sensation down my throat and the wall of my mouth when I sipped from the whiskey bottle got into a reflective mood.
“You know a lot has changed for me in the past couple of weeks, all my life I have understood the simple thing’s, the normal things, like time is fluid and water makes things wet,”
“But since I met you, everything about you, your world has totally shaken the core of that belief. The things you Guy’s can do stuff like that only exist in movies, fictional novel’s or in someone else’s hyperactive imagination, at least that’s what I thought. Sometimes I try to convince myself that I’m losing my mind because I’ll rather not accept any of this is actually real, nowhere I’m already adapting to the very concept.”
“Being able to adapt is not such a bad thing,” Raven said.
“Yeah, I know,“I muttered nodding.
“And if it’s of any consolation, my kind are not the only weird things out there in the world, there are things that exist that are more terrifying than we are,” she took out the sodas from the bag handing me one.
" if you had a chance to be normal would you, I mean have you ever wished to be normal?” I asked pouring whiskey into what remained of my soda.
“Sometimes, ” she muttered.
“But believe me if I was given a choice between what I’m right now and being mortal, I wouldn’t choose the latter, not in a million years.”
“Why is that?” I laugh.
“Because what I am, gives me the privilege of being in total control of myself and everything around me, I’m not the mercy of factors such as illness or death, whatever threatens my existence I break it, it’s also within my capacity to choose to get older if I want to or not, there are many so many things.”
“It must feel nice being you,”
“I’m used to it,”
" Most girls my age now, in fifteen to twenty years time, they’ll be mother’s with probably two or three kids along with a divorce and a depressing job, even if they manage piece their lives together and they live up to forty or maybe sixty, if something else doesn’t get them along the way, cancer will. I can’t ever imagine myself being defined by such powerlessness,” she said in derision.
“That’s what it means to be human,” I laughed.
She reached for the pieces of rocks in the grass close to her boot, rolling them in her palm, hurling the first into the open space. It darted like a bullet then vanished on air the middle of the field.
“hmmm, Nice trick.”
The puzzled look on her face,
“I didn’t do anything,” Raven said staring intently at the open field, she Picked another rock hurling it again, only for it to vanish at that same point without a trace.
" then what’s up with that?”
" it’s best we find out ourselves,” she replied.
I zipped up the bag lifting it to my back, I didn’t forget the whiskey on the grass either through what was left wasn’t much, I fitted it into my back pocket. I felt the slightly buzzed, my body and weight on my back felt lighter. We approached the vanishing spot which we indicated with a Daisy on the grass few feet’s away from us, we stopped in front of it.
Raven moved further stretching forth her right arm as an experiment,
“Hey, I’m not sure that’s a good idea, what if you lose that arm?”
She didn’t mind she just did it, I watched half her hand vanish when it crossed the flowers spot, she quickly withdrew her arm and it appeared whole again.
“I know what this is?” she chuckled faintly.
“What is it? some kind of magic veil,”
" No, what we’ve been searching for has been staring us right in the face,” she said.
“This is where the cabin is, I recognize the energy it’s my mom’s, she cloaked this spot on purpose,”
" whatever that is, I’m guessing she did it so nobody would find it,” I said walking stretching forth my hand, it crossed the spot but nothing happened, my arm was still the same nothing different, then I moved further with my whole body.
“Can you see me?” I asked.
“Yes,”
“Why doesn’t it work on me?”
“Because you’re not like me,” she answered, shoving her hand again to show me it only reacted to her, I couldn’t see half her arm even when fronting her oppositely it was like we were standing in the same area couple of feet away from each other, same ground but in some way different dimensions.
“This is Seriously weird,” I added
“Come stand beside me,” she said.
" can you undo it what she did so we can actually see this mysterious little house,”
“Yes, I’m part of her bloodline it should work, but it would require something of me.”
“Something like what?” I asked.
“I need something sharp with a pointed edge, like needle, knife or anything like that, do you have any on you,”
“I don’t think so, I hardly carry stuff like that around.” I checked my pant pocket apart from my cell, my wallet, and the bottle at the back nothing, then my jacket pulling out the spearheaded locket.
" that will do,” she took it from me, staring at it for a moment like she recognized it was likely the same one her Mom was wearing in that picture in my dad’s journal. She used the pointed edge and pressed into her left thumb puncturing the skin, she gave it back.
“What are you doing?”
“Watch,” she said rubbing her wounded thumb against the other to soil them with her blood before stretching her hand again into the vanishing point, the sun had faded when I looked up the sky, deep dark cloud coming from the north, like a storm, Louisiana kind of has a crappy climate.
“Ok, but whatever it is your doing, we have to do it quickly, find that thing and get away from this place cause its about to rain like hell.” She stood still shutting her eyes to concentrate, there was this sudden buzzing noise like that of electricity and waves traveling around the vanishing point, like that of water. Then I could see her full arm and a small wooden cabin a few meters away from us that slowly unveiled itself.
“Whoa, Amazing..” I muttered in astonishment.
“Come,”
She led the way, we marched to the doorstep, I was surprised this place actually looked real for something that just popped out of thin air, there was a rough hole in the middle of the wooden door next a rock almost about to make its way through, it was the same rock raven hurled towards this direction earlier, that’s quite some strength she used for it to make much impact.
The door was open we got in, it was partially empty Aside from three rocking chairs and a table at the middle, a gale blew in dust from the outside forcefully shoving the door backward, banging it shut. A loud rumble of thunder followed, the windows quaking from the noise and strong wind. The skies had totally darkened when I looked the window, we won’t be going anywhere for a while the weather is dangerous out there, the wind menaced for over an hour before the rain joined in, a freaking tempest.
“I found it,” Raven announced, using the flash from her phone trying to pull out a loose brick on the wall directly on top the fireplace, I dropped the bag on the table trying to assist but it seems the brick was firmly placed although a bit lose, there wasn’t enough space in the edges to pull it out. She sighed deeply, frustratingly shoving her elbow into it.
The brick splits, we took it out piece by piece till it revealed a deep compartment, she puts her hand inside pulling out a sheathed dagger, she hands it over to me.
“I see the special weapon you talked about was just a dagger after all,“I murmured disappointingly, less efficient than the gun in my wardrobe, although it was unusually quite heavy than normal.
“it’s not just an ordinary dagger, the sheath itself was made out of the armor of St George, the blade is Egyptian forged and over a thousand years old.” She stated.
At the handle was engraved with the eye of Horus when I looked closely at it.
“We should leave now,” Raven said.
" is that a joke, can’t you see the crazy storm out there,”
“Wait here, I’ll try to stop it.” She takes off her jacket, wearing only her tunic. She hangs it on top the rocking chair.
“Look I know you’re invincible, but I don’t think it’s necessary for you to be out there when we can wait it out,”
“That thing is going to keep raging all through the day, it’s not going to stop except you wants us to spend the night here, “She replied,
“Have you done it before?“I was worried for her.
“No, but I have started one before, so stopping it should be no problem,” she walks out the door. Raven was a few meters away backing the cabin when l looked out the window her posture like a statue Her head tilted upwards while dust, wind, and rain hammered on her, she was about doing her thing.
Within half a minute, the strength of the storm eased the growling of the wind growing fainter, lightning spread its wrath of light through the skies, a loud rumble of thunder struck again like an explosion quaking the very earth, the lightning darted its way from the dark clouds, I watched the flash Blast at raven throwing her backwards, the sound of her back slam against the door.
“My God!” I rush out to her aid, the bloody storm started again, she was dead still, not moving when I found her on the floor, I quickly carried her in taking off my jacket to place under her head when I saw a thick burn above her pelvis.
“Please! Don’t you die on me,“I begged, the upper part of her body completely soaked wet, I was terrified.
Luckily her pulse was still active when I checked on her, she wasn’t dead just knocked unconscious, I sighed deeply in relief.
Raven opened her eyes gradually she seemed a bit disoriented at the time till she saw me kneeling beside her.
“Ugh! I’m guessing that didn’t go down as expected,” she groaned weakly.
“No, it didn’t. You got zapped while trying to do your Jesus thing, you’re lucky to even be alive.”
“It wasn’t luck,” she grinned lightly.
“Whatever, just lie still okay, I’ll try to make a fire.”
I could feel the chill the storm had given to the air, it was getting colder by the second and everything thing else growing dark. With the light from my cell, I checked the fireplace, there were some logs left, I remembered raven packed in some gears in the backpack, maybe she also put in something that would be useful right now like a lighter or match.
I searched the bag putting what was left of the stuff we bought on the table, underneath those a flashlight, an iPod, a thick furry brown blanket and a fashion magazine, No match or anything. I checked the other pockets on it, there were empty except at the lower part of the bag that had a tiny zip pocket, I found a lighter.
I took the magazine ripping some pages from it going to the fireplace, pouring a little of the whiskey on the logs.
I lit the pages dumping it on the logs it caught up in flames.
Raven had already tried getting back on her feet even with that injury, though she was finding difficult to walk in her state, I thought I told her to lay still, she never listens.
I reach supporting her when she almost trips, her skin was cold.
“I told you to stay put didn’t I, why are you stubborn?” I asked softly.
She smiled tiredly,“I don’t like being told what to do, they say I get it from my Mom,”
“Looks like we’ll be staying here after all,”
“That’s if your weather report is accurate, would like to sit down?”
“Mhmm,” she nodded, I placed her comfortably on one of the chairs, I noticed the lower area of her tunic had been stained red,
" you’re not Getting better are you?”
“I’m not, not like before,”
“I thought you said earlier you had super healing body mechanism,”
" yeah I did, but it’s not working right now. I think because I tried to push nature and she fought back,” she said.
" you mean with the weather thing?”
She nods”, she can be a real bitch at times, she’s must have temporarily cut me off from her in the act to punish me that’s why I’m not healing,”
“You make it sound like its actually some sort of conscious being,” I replied.
“It is, you won’t understand.”
" well it doesn’t matter, right now we have to get you out of that tunic its wet,”
“How are you feeling?” I asked her,
“I’m okay, just a tired and the wound kind of stings. “Surprisingly her voice seemed sound.
“You’re going help out of my top and clean it with that,” She pointed at the whiskey on the table.
“Are you sure, cause it’ll sting worse,“I told her.
“I think I can handle a little pain,”
Raven managed to get the tunic off herself, left with her bra on top, I hung it on one of the chairs, I got a clear view of her perfect female physique and the injury. it was deep and didn’t look very good, she was slowly bleeding out. an ordinary person would be groaning at the top of their lungs by now, raven remained quiet although kind of weakened, her tolerance was impressive.
“My scarf its in my in the right pocket of my pants, use it.” She muttered when I took the bottle from the table,
I found the stash from before first when I checked, I recalled she had put it in a place much closer to home. I left it on her lap, soaking the fabric in alcohol, she flinched gripping tight at the arm of the chair when I started carefully around the area, I managed to clean off the blood, her glamorous skin that smelled of lavender, I have heard stories of people sometimes being struck directly by lightning, but I have never heard of anyone surviving. well here she is, I can’t say I’m surprised.
“I’m mad at you right now you know,”
“Why?” She scoffed.
“because I don’t like the way you push your luck with things, I noticed that whenever you’ve got an idea in your head you just forge on, never considering risks, what if that lightning had struck worse and dropped you dead,”
“But it didn’t, even at that it would take a lot more than raw electricity to put me down Nate,” she muttered proudly,
“You see that’s your problem, you think your invincible to everything but clearly you’re not, for months I have been scared about a lot of things, first you guys, then the so-called council from wanting to get rid of me had suddenly taken an interest in me, I have had my own fair share of nightmares on what might likely happen at the end of this.” I disinfected the wound cleaning it up again.
" who knows, maybe I might even wind up dead, but when you I saw you lying out there, dead still although it was only for a minute, it topped the very list of nightmares, and with all of them combined they weren’t half as scary as that sight,” I confessed.
" don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” She smiled weakly,
“Hold on this,“I let her press the fabric on her injury. I slipped out my cell doing what I should have done minutes ago.
“What are you doing?”
“Calling an ambulance, you need to get to a hospital.”
“No, no,” she shrugged.
“Hang up, no hospitals, we avoid those for a reason.”
“Look, princess, You need better help, you’re still bleeding out,”
“911, what’s your emergency?” The voice from the cell.
“Nathan, hang up now, “she scowled at me insisting, Her eyes were already growing dim with dark circles under it. she’s right, she’s different. if they avoid hospital’s for a reason then I don’t think it’s my call to make that choice.
“Alright, then whom do we call cause we have to call somebody,” I said hanging up.
“Nate, can you trust when I say don’t call anyone, I’ll be fine, I just need a little time.”
“You’ve got a few minutes and if that injury doesn’t magically seal itself up, I’m either calling your brothers or an ambulance,“I meant it.
" you’re being a jerk you know that right,” she scoffed wearily.
“If that’s what it takes to keep you alive yes,”
“and you think my brothers will leave you in one piece if they find you here alone with me,” raven tries to discourage the idea thinking maybe I’ll fall for it.
“They’ve been wanting to kill me for a while now and here I am still, so I’ll take my chances,” I replied firmly.
“Wow! look at you all of a sudden, Nathan the brave.” She mocked probing her finger into the stash, she slips out a joint.
“Help me with the lighter will you?” she requested.
“what do you think you’re doing?”
“What does it look like I’m doing?”
She mutters grabbing it from me, putting the wrap on her lips lighting up the other end relaxing comfortably on the chair as it rocked slightly back and forth, vapor escaping through her nostrils, the pungent smell quickly poised the atmosphere.
“You’re injured and you’re trying to get high,”
“Which can also be seen as being resourceful,” she added.
“You want me to magically get better right, so I need to relax and focus whatever energy I have left in me to fixing myself, in order to do that I need to not be in pain and this joint is the...”
“The closest thing to painkillers around here,” I finished understanding.
“See! You get it.”
“Has anyone ever told you, you act a bit boyish at times,“I mocked.
“Yep a lot, but I grew up in a mansion full of boys even my own Dad looks the part so..”
I took a deep breath then sitting on a chair beside hers, lightning struck, the earth shook again I felt it underneath the ground,
Raven offered me the joint.
" I’d love to but thanks, right now one us has to remain sane if we are to need help,”
“Come on, don’t be such a bore, no one truly enjoys doing this stuff alone,” she teased.
" in the state, you’re in I’m not even sure you should be doing that at all but I guess some things don’t apply to you.”
“Ok, just one drag please, it won’t shake you or anything, watching you do it will make me feel better.”
“So that’s the line you want to use on me huh!” I gave a faint laugh.
Under better circumstances, the normal me would have suggested we blow the entire stash for fun and I wouldn’t mind. But I have to be the grown-up, I needed to watch her she’s too important for me to be careless.
“Just once!” I stated clearly.
The satisfied smile on her face when I agreed, she hands to me.
I sucked in feeling the taste of the vapor on my tongue, I let settled a bit before discharge through my nostrils, I had admit it kind of felt good and I missed the feeling.
“Ha! Look at that, you do it like a pro,” she chortled weakly, I gave it back to her.
“Happy?”
“I’m getting there,” she grimaced.
I saw the cloth she used to press on her wound it had been completely soaked, I took her tunic and wrapped it on my palm, it was the only thing left that could serve, for now, I replaced the scarf with it.
“You know my jacket is kind of short and I won’t have anything to wear inside..“She complained.
" don’t worry, you can have my shirt if you want,”
I watched her as she kept on with the joint, her eye’s were getting dimmer, I wasn’t sure if it was the cause of the pot or her injury. She pours the vapor from straight to my face to get my attention.
“Although I’m slightly buzzed, I don’t want you to be quiet, talk to me, tell me about that dream you had, the one with your Dad telling you about the council cause that’s one hell of a mystery on its own.”
“Why the sudden interest in it now? ”
" because I’m trying hard not fall unconscious, listening to you might be the only thing that takes me off that edge.”
“Look, I still strongly suggest we call somebody at least,” I suggested again.
“I asked for a little more time didn’t I, I don’t think my few minutes are up, so relax and talk.”
I didn’t want to have to recall the scenes of that dream again knowing it didn’t end very well for me, but I still want to believe it’s was just a dream although a strange one...that seemed very real.
“Alright, he first mentioned something about some sort of connection between us and that our minds were in sync, I didn’t get half of what he meant by that.”
“Then he said his mind was trapped in some kind of place, he described it as limbo. A kind of abstract universe that exists between our world and the afterlife,”
" isn’t limbo a circle in hell?” She said with a weak short laugh.
“According to what? religion or Dante’s Inferno, I think it might be some kind of nether realm that’s if there are really such things.”
" ok, So what else did you guys talk about? ”
“Your Mom,”
“Really?” She cocked a brow.
“Aaron said he and your Mom were close, they dated at some point and she told him who she really was,”
“I think what my aunt and grandma said at dinner yesterday also confirms that part,” Raven replied.
“Aren’t you a little bit surprised about them,“I asked.
“No, I’m aware there’s a lot that I may not know about my Mom, same could be said about your Dad.”
“He also knew about the watchers, he’s accident at the town hospital all those years ago, he said that they were behind it. They did it because they wanted him out if the picture.” I added.
“I don’t understand, What would they want with your family ?”
“I don’t know, but he mentioned it had something with my fate. Sometimes I keep thinking about it and none of it seems to make any sense,”
“Don’t dismiss the idea early, I mean look at all that has happened to you since you came into town and in one night your whole life changed.”
“Your accident that night was an opportunity to balance everything, normally I wouldn’t even care less cause what you saw had become a problem that needed to be fixed, then scenes of that accident kept haunting me, images of you day in day out for over week i couldn’t get a break. I have seen and done worse things than that, i couldn’t get why yours would be any different, i barely even liked you then..” she said, lost in her thoughts starting at the fire place.
“Next thing i knew, i found myself walking through those hospital doors to fix you, i started doing it slowly, one at a time, not to raise any suspicion. at a point i started hating myself for even bothering to do it in the first place, then it was already too late to stop, so i kept on and the nightmares were also being kept at bay everytime i did it as a benefit. I knew it was just a mental thing,”
“Oh, So the real reason you saved my life wasn’t that it was the right thing to do, but to stop me continually haunting you and ease your conscience,” i laughed.
“So that i didn’t deserve to die cause i was at the wrong place at the wrong time thing you fed me last week was crap,“.
She smiled.
“No, i meant that also, that why I’m trying to avoid you from getting killed or worse again like you told me earlier that same night i wouldn’t want my efforts so far going to waste.”
she started taking in a deep breath suddenly, the joint fell of fingers as she started groaning.
“What’s wrong! What’s happening? ” i asked standing up frighteningly going closer to her.
“It’s happening!” Raven cried. Gripping the arm of her chair tightly and writhing,
“What?” She removed her dress covering the injury, i watched the open flesh on her wound twist into knot fading deep into her skin, a new one took place and steadied, her groaning and writhing stopped. She exhaled deeply.
“took it long enough, i was almost beginning to doubt myself.” She chuckled in relief shifting her fingers to the spot to feel the new skin.
" that...That was not creepy at all,”
for the first time, i could actually say seeing something that weird was Kind of Amazing.
“How do you feel now?”
“What do you think,” her voice sounded radiant again.
“But I’m still kind of buzzed and I’m hungry,” she grabbed the muffins from the pack of stuff we bought on the table, ripped one open and pounced on it.
“Whoa, go easy so you don’t choke yourself,”
just got off the phone with Judy telling her i wasn’t going to make it home cause of the storm that i was at a friend place out of town, the call ended with her saying we had an unfinished conversation to continue when i get back, of course, i knew what it was about.
I stood at the window watching the storm keep up with its rampage.
“If you’re standing there hoping the rain might likely stop, I’m telling you your wasting your time,” Raven said.
" i heard you before weather girl and people sometimes stare at the rain to clear their minds when it’s crowded.” I see her transition back to her charming self didn’t take long at all.
" there’s something i need to show you over here come see,”
I sighed deeply taking picking up my jacket from the floor,
“What’s is it?” I asked.
She puts on her jacket taking up the pocket knife and medieval dagger from the table.
“I’m going to show you what makes this thing we came looking for so special from an ordinary blade,”
“How?” She takes off the jacket hung on my shoulder leaving it on one of the chairs, giving me the dagger to hold.
She slips out the blade of the pocket knife,
" what are you doing,? your hurting yourself.” I exclaimed when she used it to slits open her palm from the top, the flesh was torn but it didn’t bleed out not a drop, It just looked pale, till it quickly sealed itself.
I took her hand examining it closely,
“Alright, now hold this,” she exchanged the knife with the dagger unsheathing it, the blade was made out of iron, it looked a bit blunt I’m guessing due to age, different and kind heavier than normal as i noticed earlier.
This time she uses the edge to mildly plunge into her thumb, blood streamed down immediately.
“You’re vulnerable to it,” i said noticing,
“Yes, same with every other supernatural creature, immortal or not. Rumor has it the dagger was amongst those forged out of the meteorite that fell at the port of Alexandria over a thousand of years ago,”
“So it’s not of this world,” i said intriguingly.
“Theoretically yes, but it’s composition is not alien if that’s what you’re thinking, the meteorite was a just huge chunk of metal that fell from the sky and we’re vulnerable to it that’s all.” raven replied.
" there are two vital parts in the body of the Nephilims which are most potent, here,” she gently pointed the edge of the blade at my heart as we stood facing each other.
“The heart is where all our energies are stored,”
“And here,” she touched my fore head with her finger tip.
“The brain, Where we draw our powers from.” We were staring directly at each other eyes for a moment, there’s something between us i could feel it, I’m guessing she could too though she might not want to admit it, she looks away.
“what about to give you is a family heirloom, it been handed down for generations, the only other piece like this forged the same way, history has it. It was once in the possession of an Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamen, it’s a rarity so try not to lose it.” She puts it back in its sheathe,
“Sure,”
Raven takes the blanket and her i pod from the table spreading it at the empty corner of the room, then she walks over to me trying not to look me in the eye like she wanted to ask for something.
“Uhmmm I’m cold and my jacket feels uncomfortable cause I’m not wearing anything inside...”
" you want my shirt?” i asked, She nodded shyly.
I took it off giving to her, she grabbed it looking away avoid seeing my exposed Chest, i knew this was awkward for her.
She moves back to the corner where she kept the blanket backing me,
I saw this pretty tattoos on her back when she removed her jacket, and “yes” i was looking i didn’t see it as much of a big deal to turn around, they looked like flocks of birds from the mid section of her back all the way to her neck, she looked different on my shirt, it looked nicer on her than it did on me, maybe its a girl thing.
" your tats, they’re pretty.” I complimented.
" i got it when i was fourteen, back then i thought i was about having my awakening.” She replied knotting her hair behind.
" i thought the awakening Stuff usually happens when you guys are a bit younger that,” I said.
“yes, but just like everything there are always late bloomers, unluckily i turned out to be one of them.”
“What about now, has it happened yet?”
“No,” she grimaced.
“Raina would say i got defective genes, i was the one she meant when she said yesterday at dinner that bass wasn’t the only person at the table that hasn’t been Awakened.”
" yeah, i caught on that.” That’s was when her grandmother shut her up.
“It’s like everyone else Growing up, and your eternal growth is just suspended, right now i pray it never even for me again.” I sensed from her tone it bothered her.
“Why want that?”
“Because the chances of a late Awakening amongst our population is less than one in thousand people in every generation, And for those it happens to, legend has it that late Awakenings comes with an incredible amount of unlimited uncontrollable power and Darkness that equals that of fallen angels,”
“Since I’m half mortal conceived by birth and not made from the direct touch of the creator himself wielding such power would drive me insane along with an insatiable desire for bloodlust and destruction. I’ll be like a rabid dog on the loose that cannot be contained, then my family will be forced with no choice but to put me down themselves or the council will.”
“That sounds extra-terrible,”
“So you see, you’re not the only one whose life is likely headed towards shit.” She muttered.
I didn’t bother broaching the subject again clearly it was a gloomy one to talk about, i put on dad’s jacket to warm myself from the cold, i planned on crashing on the rocking chair though i would prefer the floor, but there wasn’t another blanket, raven laid quietly listening to music, i guess I’ll have to manage although I’ll be waking with back pains by morning.
“hey, just out of curiosity where do you plan on sleeping?” She suddenly asked.
“On the rocking chair,” i answered dryly.
“you’re kidding right, do want to get a back ache by tomorrow when you’re supposed to be driving us home because you’ll be doing the driving not me. You’re invited to come join me here if you want, i think the blanket is broad enough for two,” raven suggested.
“And you’re sure you’re good with that?” My thoughts already running wild.
She laughs, “cut the Goody-Goody modesty crap Nate, it doesn’t suit you, we both know you’d prefer here than that crude ass chair,”
An invitation, the truth was i had been secretly wishing for that hated the idea of crashing in that chair anyway, i came over gently laying on my side, the texture of the soft blanket on my face as we faced each other we were both quiet, her sky blue eyes so beautiful for second it thought it glowed, she takes out an earpiece plugging it to my ear, it Played a slow steady R&B music, a perfect familiar soft masculine voice with a little of something dark in it which made the song itself enchanting enough to soothe the mood.
“Who’s the artist?” I asked quietly.
“The weekend, heard of him?”
“Yeah, the Canadian guy with the tsunami looking hair style, i like his songs but i haven’t heard this one.”
“It’s from his new album that was released this week,”
I stroked the loose string of hair on face back in it’s place, she didn’t flinch at all, there was this warmth generated between us, i had feelings for her there’s no doubt in that, just being this close to her i felt my pulse quicken, same with an increase in my heart beat i recalled something she said earlier it kind of made me laugh,
“What are you smiling about?”
“you admitted you liked me today,”
“When cause i don’t remember saying that,” she snorts.
“You said you barely liked me before, that means you do now,”
“Really?” I knew she would never openly admit it
“I think so,”
“Is why that your heart is racing right now?” she asked.
“maybe, I’m not sure.” i lied.
But i had to find out, i needed to be certain she felt the same and right now there’s only one way to be sure, our faces were closer than ever before, literally, i could feel her breath on mine, I made the move, My lips claimed hers.
for a moment there i was sure i felt her kissing back, then she shudders pulling away her eyes remained shut to avoid looking at me.
“I’m sorry,” i apologized
“No, you’re not,” she muttered like she knew i didn’t truly mean it.
“You’re right, I’m not, i have been Wanting to do that for a while,” I admitted. We kept staring at each other again, the desire behind what i just did didn’t wane, rather it intensified and it was definitely in her eyes too, the curiosity of what she just felt.
we found ourselves lip locking again, this time it was different than before, it was heated and we both had no intention of stopping.
What started out as a languish kiss deepened into an exciting search for pleasure i drew her closer, my fingers slid up into her hair.
Holy Shit! I couldn’t believe this was actually happening right now, i said in my head, scooping her up into a sitting position on my lap with our lips still intact and profound in one another’s, her arms crossed around my neck, currents traveling between us. We were on fire about tugging our clothes off.
Then buzz kill, when her phone suddenly began buzzing incessantly in her pocket.
The second we parted lips, the look in her eyes that followed, she was scared of me, like i Just made her admit something she never wanted to, she almost lost herself with me, she moved away from me, a flash of regret and anger on her face. She got up and answered her cell.
From the conversation it sounded like raven was talking to her dad, she told Michael she was out of town, there’s was something she needed to pick up.
She’ll be home by morning, she couldn’t make it back tonight because of the storm.
“your Dad, He doesn’t exactly know where we are does he?” I asked when she hung up.
“No, i told him i checked into a motel, we have to be back home by morning.”
“Stand up Nate,” she scowls at me.
“Why, what’s wrong?”
“Just get up,” she said again with her fist clenched. I knew this can’t be good.
“Alright,” i nodded.
She was looking me directly in the eye, the cold expression on her face a complete puzzle, next thing i knew she swung her fist directly to my nose and hard, i felt the impact way up in my skull.
“Jesus Christ! What the hell was that for?” I exclaimed trying to stretch the nerves on my face. Blood on my finger tips when i touched my nose.
“That! that was for tricking me into kissing you!” She muttered in derision.
" what the f...i tricked you?” I jeered.
“Because last i remembered you were kissing and groping me back before your Dad called,” i snort in disbelief.
“i can’t believe you broke my nose just to make yourself feel better about happened between us half a minute ago.”
“You’re lucky a broken nose is all you get for that, stay the hell away from me,
“Couldn’t you for once act like a normal person, by giving me a warning or at most a mild slap to the cheek, did you have to really go for the nose,”
“I’m not normal, and when look at mirror you won’t forget that easily.” she Murmured laying down with her back turned against me.
“You know what? I think its best i crash on the chair tonight,” i said, i wasn’t upset, just puzzled, ok that’s a lie I was kind of upset.
“Fine, suit yourself.” And she needed the space.
