Perched haughtily on the sidelines, Yara chimed in with a venomous agreement. “Did you not hear Mila? Clean those shoes! They’re a veritable crown jewel from a prestigious designer, priceless artifacts!”

“Okay, my

bad for the water stains on my hands. But seriously, it’s just water; it won’t hurt the shoes,” Alice dismissed her frustration, explaining patiently. “If it bothers you, I can have them cleaned for you.”

“Do you still think you’re the Alice who put Skylly on the map? Skylly disbanded ages ago, and Keziah is flying solo now! After being a general helper for so long, who are you trying to impress?”

Yara mocked, “Urgh, good grief! Getting involved with you is bad luck, like rolling in the dirt!”

“Why waste time on her?” Mila impatiently adjusted her mink shawl, ‘Since you can’t handle a little water, you better go clean.

the toilets?”

Yara nodded, “Mila’s got a point. Let’s not bother with these people. They’ve tainted Mila’s view. We’ve got a diamond brand endorsement shoot coming up; we need to prep. I’ll handle things here.”

People around echoed Yara’s sentiments, and those few feeling sorry for Alice didn’t dare to speak up.

Mila snorted and was about to leave when Keira swiftly grabbed Mila’s shawl.

“What’s this? Bully someone and now planning to walk away? Seems like you’ve got quite the attitude!” Keira exuded a chilling vibe, staring at Mila like an ice queen.

“You–Keira Mila squinted, recognizing her. Keira’s face was too distinct to be mistaken. Mila hesitated for a moment but quickly regained her composure.

“I thought who. So, it’s Keira, the former Skylly member who rode the coattails of a wealthy man into retirement.” Mila tried. to flaunt her pride, scrutinizing Keira from head to toe.

Keira was casually dressed, brand unknown to Mila. “Thought living the high life would be a cakewalk. Doesn’t seem all that rosy now,”

With newfound confidence, Mila approached, provocatively staring at Keira. “So, you’re here to back up Alice?”

“These shoes I’m wearing cost at least three hundred grand. Are you going to cough out or what?”

Keira helped Alice up from the ground. The latter was in disbelief to see Keira.

“Why are y

you here?” Alice clung to Keira, pushing her behind protectively. “Just let it slide. Mila’s got connections with the higher–ups. We can’t afford to cross her.”

Keira patted Alice’s shoulder reassuringly, then turned to Mila, a mischievous smile on her lips. “You absolutely sure about that three hundred grand?”
